Base: Huffman, Carrier Carry Redbank Valley Past Moniteau; Five Unanswered Runs Lift DCC to Win powered by N. Washington Rodeo

BUTLER, Pa. – Jaxson Huffman and Ty Carrier combined on a two-hitter to lead Redbank Valley to a 6-2 road win over Moniteau at Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park in Butler.

Huffman got the win going six innings allowing two earned runs on two hits, a hit batter, and three walks while striking out seven. Carrier got the final three outs striking out one.

Huffman helped his own cause going 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Carrier was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.

Landon Kelly was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for Moniteau.

   

                  

Dawson Cook took the loss going five innings allowing three unearned runs on three hits and three walks while striking out nine.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 12, KANE 7

DUBOIS, Pa. – Tied at seven after 3 ½ innings, DuBois Central Catholic scored three in the bottom of the fourth and two more in the fifth on its way to a 12-7 win over visiting Kane.

Brayden Fox led the way for the Cardinals going 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, two RBIs, and three runs scored.

Blake Pisarcik and Andrew Green each added a pair of RBIs with Pisarcik going 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored and Green going 2-for-4 with a run scored.

                          

Carter Himes also scored twice for DCC going 1-for-4 with a triple and a walk, while Aiden Snowberger was 2-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Fox got the win in relief of Green going 1 ⅔ innings allowing one run on three hits while striking out two. Snowberger picked up the save pitching three scoreless, hitless innings. He struck out seven. Green gave up six runs, five earned, on three hits and seven walks in 2 ⅓ innings of work.

Isiah Smith was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for Kane while Kyle Zook went 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs. Kane Sharba was also 1-for-4 with two RBIs for the Wolves, and Brock Wensel went 1-for-2 with two walks and three runs scored.

Nate McCormack, Kane’s second pitcher, took the loss going four innings allowing nine runs, six earned, on five hits and five walks while striking out five.

               

CLARION-LIMESTONE 13, CRANBERRY 1

SENECA, Pa. – A trio of Clarion-Limestone pitchers combined on a three-hitter to lead the visiting Lions to a 13-1 win at Cranberry.

Logan Lutz got the win in relief of Tommy Smith going three hitless, scoreless innings. He struck out seven. Smith pitched three innings of scoreless ball allowing one hit while striking out seven. Brayden Murray allowed one earned run on two hits in an inning of work.

Kohen Kemmer and Nick Aaron each drove in three runs to pace the C-L offense while Tommy Smith and Jake Smith each added a pair of RBIs.

Kemmer was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a run scored, Aaron was 2-for-4 with a double, Tommy Smith walked three times and scored twice, and Jake Smith went 1-for-4 with two runs scored.

Lutz and Jack Craig each added two runs scored for the Lions, who scored 13 runs on just six hits.

Landon Burgdorfer was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Cranberry.

Connor Morrow took the loss allowing eight runs, five earned, on five hits, four walks, and two hit batters. He struck out five in 4 ⅓ innings of work.

NORTH CLARION 13, FOREST AREA 1, 5 INNINGS

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. – Ethan Carll hit a home run and Wade Peters drove in three runs to help North Clarion pick up its first win of the season thanks to a 13-1, five-inning victory over visiting Forest Area.

            

Carll was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, while Peter walked once but drove in the three runs without the benefit of a hit.

Logan Bish added a triple for the Wolves while Noah Baumcratz and Kyle Rusiewicz each doubled.

Bish went 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI, Baumcratz was 2-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored, and Rusiewicz was 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs, and two runs scored.

Also for North Clarion, CJ Zacherl went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Drake Irwin was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Bish got the win going three innings allowing an earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Landon Ochs added two scoreless innings of relief walking three and striking out four for the Wolves.

Colton Kuntz hit a home run for Forest Area going 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. His first-inning dinger put the Fires ahead 1-0, but North Clarion scored five in the bottom of the first.

Nathan Dietrich took the loss going 1 ⅓ innings allowing seven earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two.

KEYSTONE 15, VENANGO CATHOLIC 0, 3 INNINGS

KNOX, Pa. – Drew Keth didn’t allow a base runner in three innings on the mound, and Keystone used 10 hits to score 15 runs to give first-year head coach Justin Bifano his first win, 15-0 in three innings, over visiting Venango Catholic.

Keth struck out six while throwing 26 of his 34 pitches for strikes.

Brady Dunlap had a pair of doubles to pace the Keystone offense going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Peyton Shay had three RBIs for the Panthers while going 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored, while Noah Weckerly and Aidan Tharan each added a pair of RBIs.

Weckerly was 1-for-1 with a walk and a run scored and Tharan was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.

Keth helped himself by going 2-for-2 with a walk and three runs scored, and Chaz Renninger was 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored.

OTTO-ELDRED 13, NORTHERN POTTER 2

ULYSSES, Pa. – Jared Obernrader drove home four runs while going 3-for-5 with two runs scored to lead Otto-Eldred to a 13-2 win at Northern Potter.

Andrew Schenfield and Landon Francis each added a pair of RBIs with Schenfield going 3-for-4 with a triple and Francis going 1-fo-3.

JXX Prince scored three times and drove in a run, while Manning Splain was 3-for-5 with a triple, an RBI, and three runs scored. Shane Magee also scored three times for the Terrors while going 1-for-2 with a double and two walks.

Zach Schuessler got the win going 6 ⅔ innings in relief of Schenfield allowing one hit and two walks while hitting a batter. He struck out 15. Schenfield gave up two runs, one earned m, on four walks in a ⅓ of an inning.

Kaden Hoopes was 1-for-2 for Northern Potter.

Conhar Snyder took the loss going 1 ⅓ innings allowing five earned runs on five hits, two hit batters, and two walks while striking out one.

CLARION 12, A-C VALLEY/UNION 0, 5 INNINGS

PAINT TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Dawson Smail, Noah Harrison, and Devon Lauer each drove in a pair of runs, and Tanner Miller and Daunte Girvan combined on a two-hit shutout to lead Clarion to a 12-0 win in five innings over visiting A-C Valley/Union at the Clarion County Park.

Smail was 3-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored, Harrison was 1-for-3 with a walk, and Lauer was 1-for-2 with a triple and a run scored.

Miller got the win pitching four innings allowing two hits and four walks while striking out six. Giran pitched a scoreless fifth.

Girvan was also 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and two runs scored, while Miller was 1-for-3 with a double. Bryce Brinkley also had a three-hit game for the Bobcats going 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Zach Cooper and Trey Fleming had the hits for A-C Valley/Union.

Fleming took the loss going two innings allowing five earned runs on four hits and three walks.

CAMERON COUNTY SWEEPS OSWAYO VALLEY

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Cameron County swept a doubleheader at Oswayo Valley winning by the counts of 7-4 and 19-1 in five innings.

In the 7-4 victory, the Red Raiders broke a 4-all tie with three runs in the bottom of the sixth (they were the home team in the game).

Jesop Farabaugh’s RBI single made it 5-4 and a wild pitch and a passed ball scored the next two runs.

Ryan Shaffer (1-for-4, 1 RBI) and Jake Narby (1-for-4) each scored twice for Cameron County.

Treyton Tucker got the win going two innings scoreless. HJe allowed a hit, three walks, and two hit batters while striking out two.

Andrew Wood was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI for Oswayo Valley while Landon Flurschutz went 1-for-1 with three walks and two runs scored.

Brayden Wiley took the loss going 3 ⅓ innings allowing four runs, 1 earned, on four hits and three walks while striking out three.

In the second game, a 12-run fifth inning broke open the game for Cameron County.

Farabaugh had five RBIs in th contest going 1-for-3 with a double, two walks, and a run scored.

Maddox Baughman also drove in a pair of runs as did Gage Trumpie, Ryan Shaffer, and Anthony Mastriania.

Trump was 1-for-2 with a double and two runs scored, Baughman walked twice and scored twice, Shaffer went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and four runs scored, and Mastriania was 1-for-1 with two walks and three runs scored.

Josh Beer got the win going four innings allowing an earned run on two hits and five walks while striking out six.

Ethan Hackman was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Oswayo Valley.

Wood took the loss going ⅔ of an inning allowing five earned runs on a hit, four walks, and a hit batter. He struck out one.

KARNS CITY 9, MERCER 1

BUTLER, Pa. – Strong pitching and a balanced offensive attack lifted Karns City to a 9-1 win over visiting Mercer at Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park in Butler.

Adam Manuel and Colton Christie combined to throw a 3-hitter, and seven different Gremlins had hits in the victory.

Manuel got the win going five innings of three-hit ball. He walked one and struck out four while allowing one earned run. Christie finished off with two hitless innings. He walked two and struck out one.

Koen Williams drove in a pair of runs for Karns City while going 1-for-2 while Hobie Bartoe, Jacob Callihan, and Tyler Kelly each scored two runs.

Bartoe was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, Callihan was 1-for-2 with a walk, and Kelly was 1-for-2 with two walks.

Gabe Martin went 1-for-3 with a run scored for Mercer.

Lincoln Saracco was the losing pitcher going 1 ⅔ innings allowing six earned runs on three hits and five walks.

PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA 3, CLEARFIELD 1, 8 INNINGS

HYDE, Pa. – Alex Knepp’s two-run, one-out double in the top of the eighth lifted Philipsburg-Osceola to a 3-1 win over Clearfield.

The game had been tied at one since the fifth before singles by Archer Baughman and Brandon Hahn sandwiched between an out in the eighth set the stage for Knepp.

Baughman got the win in relief of Lucas Peterson going three scoreless innings allowing two hits, a walk, and a hit batter. Peterson pitched five innings allowing one earned run on two hits and four walks while striking out three.

Hunter Rumsky went toe-to-toe with the P-O pitchers tossing 6 ⅔ innings allowing one earned run on four hits, two walks, and two hit batters while striking out seven before reaching the 100-pitch limit.

Christian Welker was the losing pitcher going 1 ⅓ innings giving up two earned runs on four hits while striking out one.

Cole Bloom had an RBI for Clearfield while Hayden Rumsky was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Anthony Lopez was on base four times going 2-for-2 while drawing two walks.

GLENDALE 14, CURWENSVILLE 7

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Visiting Glendale doubled up Curwensville, 14-7.

Troy Misiura drove in three runs for the Vikings while going 1-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored, while Levi Hamilton was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored.

Landon McGarvey got the win going four innings allowing six earned runs on six hits and five walks while striking out six.

Andrew Pentz was 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs for Curwensbvilel while Cael Butler went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI and Gage McDermott was 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Connor Luzier took the loss going a ⅓ of an inning allowing five runs, four earned, on a hit and four walks.
