Base: Prep Holds Off GM; McDowell Blanks Corry; Fairview Wins in Extras Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

EDINBORO, Pa. – Cathedral Prep held off a late rally to earn a 7-6 win over General McLane.

Prep scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh to take a 7-3 lead on a Nick Jackson 2-run home run.

McLane came back in the bottom of the seventh and got a 2-run double off the bat of Alex Clark to get within 7-5, with an error bringing the score to 7-6. That was all with two outs before JP Poranski induced a lineout to end the game.

Andrew Costello had two doubles and two runs for the Ramblers, while KJ Williams also drove in a pair of runs.

Carson Phillips got the win, allowing three unearned runs in five innings on two hits, striking out seven and walking three.

   

                  

Clark and Jackson Kiser had two RBIs each for GM. Landon Roach took the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) in two innings on three hits and three strikeouts and one walk.

MCDOWELL 6, CORRY 0

ERIE, Pa. – Anthony Iacobucci fired a six-hit shutout as McDowell beat Corry, 6-0.

Iacobucci struck out six and walked one, throwing 62 of his 90 pitches for strikes.

The top four hitters in McDowell’s lineup – Gary Hills, Connor Cross, Carter Swanson and Jake Hower had one RBI each.

                          

Karson Chamberlin and Wyatt Swan had two hits each for Corry.

Lewis Hellyer took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in five innings on three hits, striking out one and walking seven.

FAIRVIEW 4, SENECA 3

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Eddie Dolansky hit a ground ball and reached on an error, allowing the go-ahead run to cross the plate in the top of the eighth inning of Fairview’s 4-3 win over Seneca.

               

Fairview scored a pair of runs in the fourth inning to tie the game at 3-3. Fairview scored its two runs in the inning on an error and a Andrew Stevens RBI fielder’s choice. Aari Fox and Luke Rzodkiewicz also had one RBI each for Fairview.

Rzodkiewicz got the win, allowing three runs (one earned) in three innings on five hits, striking out five.

Lucas Rupp, Kendall Yosten and Klayton Komisarski had two hits each for Seneca, with Yosten collecting the lone Bobcats RBI.

Rupp went seven innings and gave up three runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out five without issuing a walk. Komisarski took the loss.

GREENVILLE 22, JAMESTOWN 7, 4 innings

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Greenville had 15 hits and took advantage of 11 walks issued by Jamestown pitching in a 22-7, 4-inning win.

Braden Stubert was 2-for-3 with four RBIs for Greenville, while Nick Solderich was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs, Carter Reichard 1-for-1 with three RBIs, Blake Rottman 2-for-2 with three RBIs, Noah Philson 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs and Jack Strausser scored three runs.

Cole Ternent homered and drove in four runs for Jamestown, while Gage Planavsky was 3-for-3 with a double, RBI and two runs.

MEADVILLE 6, WARREN 4

WARREN, Pa. – Rocco Tartaglione had two hits and drove in a run and Meadville took advantage of six Warren errors in a 6-4 win

            

Meadville led 3-1 going to sixth, scoring three runs in the top of the inning to go up 6-1. Warren responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning to get within two, 6-4, but was unable to complete the comeback.

Aidan Kliest was 4-for-4 with two runs for the Bulldogs, while Bradyn Miller was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

AJ Feleppa got the win, allowing three runs (two earned) in 5 ⅓ innings on three hits, striking out nine.

Eric Dippold hit a 2-run home run in the sixth inning for Warren, while Konnor Hoffman and Carter Cochran both doubled and scored a run.

Brady Berdine took the loss, going five innings and allowing three runs (two earned), striking out 10 and scattering seven hits without issuing a walk.

WILMINGTON 8, REYNOLDS 1

TRANSFER, Pa. – Wilmington scored six runs in the third inning of an 8-1 win over Reynolds.

Rocky Serafino hit a solo home run for Wilmington, while Chase Mitcheltree had two RBIs and Brodie Dewberry, Willie Moore and Gavin Sikorski one hit and one RBI each.

Tristan Jones tossed six strong innings to get the win, allowing one run on four hits, striking out eight and walking six.

Chase Bell was 2-for-2 with an RBI for Reynolds. Peyton Ryhal took the loss, allowing six runs (five earned) in three innings, striking out five and walking seven.

MERCYHURST PREP 8, NORTH EAST 1

ERIE, Pa. – Mercyhurst Prep scored six runs in the second inning, beating North East, 8-1.

Zack Kruszewski had a big day at the plate for the Lakers, going 4-for-4 with three doubles and three RBIs. Josh Majczyk was 2-for-3 with two RBIs as well in the win.

Noah Trojanowski got the complete game win, allowing just five hits, striking out 11 and walking four.

Joel Shreve took the loss, allowing seven runs in five innings on 10 hits, striking out six and walking two.

IROQUOIS 17, EISENHOWER 13

RUSSELL, Pa. – Iroquois scored in every inning, including five in the second and four more runs in the third of a 17-13 win over Eisenhower.

Iroquois had 17 hits to Eisenhower’s 12 – all singles.

Ethan Alderson was 4-for-4 for Iroquois with three RBIs and four runs, while Hunter Alderson was 4-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs, Reilly Brown 1-for-5 with two RBIs, Gavin Lewis 2-for-5 with two RBIs and Ben Moffett 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Brown got the win, allowing nine earned runs in 4 ⅔ innings, striking out seven.

Mason Degnan was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Eisenhower, Camron Jakubczak and Ayden Stiteler had two RBIs each.

KARNS CITY 9, MERCER 1

BUTLER, Pa. – Strong pitching and a balanced offensive attack lifted Karns City to a 9-1 win over visiting Mercer at Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park in Butler.

Adam Manuel and Colton Christie combined to throw a 3-hitter, and seven different Gremlins had hits in the victory.

Manuel got the win going five innings of three-hit ball. He walked one and struck out four while allowing one earned run. Christie finished off with two hitless innings. He walked two and struck out one.

Koen Williams drove in a pair of runs for Karns City while going 1-for-2 while Hobie Bartoe, Jacob Callihan, and Tyler Kelly each scored two runs.

Bartoe was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, Callihan was 1-for-2 with a walk, and Kelly was 1-for-2 with two walks.

Gabe Martin went 1-for-3 with a run scored for Mercer.

Lincoln Saracco was the losing pitcher going 1 ⅔ innings allowing six earned runs on three hits and five walks.
