Soft: Prep Plays Long Ball in Win Over Union City; Sharon Edges West Middlesex in Extras Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

UNION CITY, Pa. – Madison Simmerman, Cam Chimera and Emily Dudenhoeffer all homered as Cathedral Prep beat Union City, 13-01 in five innings.

Simmerman finished with three RBIs, while Chimera and Dudenhoeffer had two each. Sarah Dudenhoeffer also had two hits and an RBI for the Ramblers, while Emalie Thomas was 2-for-3.

Madison Simmerman got the win, allowing one hit, striking out three and walking one.

SHARON 5, WEST MIDDLESEX 2, 8 innings

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Dalaini Bayer’s RBI single in the top of the eighth proved to be the game-winner as Sharon beat West Middlesex, 5-2 in eight innings.

                  

Maddy Vogan followed with some insurance, belting a 2-run double for Sharon.

Vogan went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a triple and two RBIs for Sharon, while Claire Bodien was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and Chloe Pagliarini was 2-for-4 with a run.

Mya Bundrant got the win, going 6 ⅓ innings and allowing one run on four hits, striking out eight without issuing a walk.

Ava Gilmore and Kaylee Long were both 2-for-4 with an RBI for West Middlesex.

Harper Nickel took the loss, allowing five runs on 13 hits in 7 ⅔ innings, striking out 11 without issuing a walk.

                          

CONNEAUT 12, MCDOWELL 10

LINESVILLE, Pa. – Trailing 10-8, Conneaut scored four times in the sixth inning to rally past McDowell, 12-10.

Kylie Shrock had a big game for CASH, going 2-for-3 with a home run, six RBIs and three runs scored. Also for the Lady Eagles, Lainie Harrington was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs, while Haiey Gilliland was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Jill Mihoci 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Shrock got the win, allowing four earned runs in three innings.

Gracie Miller was 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs for McDowell, while Alexandra Smith also drove in two runs.

               

Maddy Matlock took the loss, allowing 10 earned runs in six innings, striking out one and walking three.

FRANKLIN 7, SLIPPERY ROCK 2

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Franklin scored four runs in the third inning of a 7-2 win over Slippery Rock.

Abigail Boland was 2-for-3 with two Rilee Hanna was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Kirsten Hicks 2-for-4 with an RBI for Franklin.

Jersey Swartz got the win, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out four and walking two.

Ciana D’Antoni and Joslyn Korcok had one RBI each for Slippery Rock, while Lyla Runtas had two hits and scored a run for Slippery Rock.

Mia Sosa took the loss, allowing six earned runs in seven innings, allowing 10 hits and striking out two.

HARBOR CREEK 10, SENECA 0, 6 innings

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Addison Lucas homered and drove in three runs as Harbor Creek beat Seneca, 10-0 in six innings.

            

Brooke Przybylski was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Harbor Creek, while Brooklynn Cipalla was 2-for-2 with three runs and AB Cipalla 1-for3- with two RBIs.

Talon King got the win, allowing just two hits while striking out three and not issuing a walk.

HICKORY 14, TITUSVILLE 3, 5 innings

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Layla McClung and Hallie Miller drove in three runs each as Hickory beat Titusville, 14-3 in five innings.

McClung had three hits, while Miller notched a pair of doubles. Madeline Myers was 2-for-5 with two RBIs for the Hornets, while Payton Leunis was 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs.

Myers got the win, tossing three shutout innings, allowing two hits, striking out three.

Rylie McGarvey, Dani Fonzie and Gabie Peterson drove in one run each for Titusville.

NORTHWESTERN 16, GIRARD 1, 3 innings

ALBION, Pa. – Hall drove in four runs as Northwestern beat Girard, 16-1 in three innings.

Haleigh Kitcey also drove in a pair of runs for Northwestern, which took advantage of nine Girard errors.

Hall got the win, allowing two hits and striking out four in two innings

Payton Vandamia had an RBI for Girard.

ROCKY GROVE 13, OIL CITY 1, 6 innings

OIL CITY, Pa. – Rocky Grove scored 10 runs in the second inning of a 13-1, 6-inning win over Oil City.

Paige Cresswell and Rae Montgomery drove in two runs each for Rocky Grove, which took advantage of seven errors and eight walks issued by Oil City

Nyssa Hanlon was 2-for-3 for Oil City. Libbie Arnik took the loss, allowing six runs in 1 ⅓ innings, on two hits, walking five.
