Base: Eighth Inning Outburst Keeps Meadville Perfect; Lakeview Plays Long Ball; Fultz Jr.’s Slam Powers Prep Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

EDINBORO, Pa. – Tied 3-3 after seven innings, Meadville scored five times in the eighth to earn an 8-3 win over General McLane.

With the bases loaded in the eighth, Jacoby Thompson was hit by a pitch, Ian Miller walked, Rocco Tartaglione walked, Bradyn Miller hit into a fielder’s choice and Miller scored on a passed ball.

Tartaglione homered and finished with two RBIs, going 3-for-3, while Miller also had two RBIs.

Miller got the win, tossing five scoreless innings and allowing just two hits while striking out four.

Landon Roach hit a 2-run homer for General McLane. Jordan Cannon tossed six innings for GMm, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out six.

   

                  

LAKEVIEW 9, WILMINGTON 6

STONEBORO, Pa. – Lakeview scored all nine of its runs in the first inning on five home runs in a 9-6 win over Wilmington.

Lucas Fagley got things going with a solo home run and went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs, while Owen Dye, Grady Harbaugh, Cody Fagley and Maddox Bell all went deep in the first inning as well.

Chase Mitchelltree was 2-for-4 for Wilmington, which got its runs in part due to six errors by Lakeview.

Owen Dye gave up one unearned run in two innings of relief work for Lakeview, striking out two and allowing just one hit.

                          

Rocky Serafino took the loss, allowing nine runs in ⅔ of an inning.

CATHEDRAL PREP 20, FORT LEBOEUF 1, 4 innings

WATERFORD, Pa. – Jason Fultz Jr. hit two home runs, including a grand slam and finished with six RBIs in Cathedral Prep’s 20-1, four-inning win over Fort LeBoeuf.

Andrew Costello also went deep for the Ramblers and had two RBIs and four runs, while Joe Flanagan was 2-for-2 with three RBIs and Nick Jackson 3-for-3 with two RBIs and four runs.

               

Mathius Sprickman got the win, allowing one run in four innings on five hits, striking out five.

Ethan Billey had a hit and and RBI for LeBoeuf.

GROVE CITY 4, OIL CITY 1

OIL CITY, Pa. – Trailing 1-0 going to the seventh, Grove City rallied with four runs to earn a 4-1 win over Oil City.

Max Knouse scored on a passed ball to tie the game, which was followed by an RBI double from Paul Gubba and capped off by a 2-run home run from Kam Martin.

Martin got the complete game win, allowing just four hits, striking out one and walking three.

Casey Ryback had an RBI double in third inning for Oil City.

Jacob Teeter went six-plus innings for the Oilers, allowing two runs on eight hits, striking out six.

YOUNGSVILLE 10, CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 4

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – David Manning drove in five runs and Youngsville pounded out 17 hits in a 10-4 win over Cambridge Springs.

            

The Eagles scored two runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings and three in the seventh.

James Johnson was 3-for-4 with four runs scored and an RBI, while Manning was 5-for-5, Wyatt Dalrymple 3-for-4 with an RBI, Cole Johnson 2-for-5 with an RBI and Talon Mesel 3-for-3 with a double and two runs.

Lucks went five innings to get the win, allowing one run on two hits, striking out nine and walking one.

Owen Riley was 2-for-5 with an RBI for Cambridge Springs. Riley also allowed four runs in three innings on seven hits, striking out a pair.

HICKORY 4, FRANKLIN 3

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Joey Cidila’s 2-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning lifted Hickory to a 4-3 win over Franklin.

The Hornets trailed 3-2 before Cidila’s hit. Cidila finished with three RBIs, while Logan Koerth was 2-for-2 with an RBI.

AJ Reardon got the win, allowing one run in three innings on two hits, striking out one and walking two.

Ethan Nightingale and Ryan McCandless had one RBI each for Franklin.

Nate Fezell took the loss, allowing two runs in two innings on three hits, striking out a pair.

UNION CITY 7, EISENHOWER 0

UNION CITY, Pa. – Aiden Shuman had three hits and three RBIs as Union City blanked Eisenhower, 7-0.

Brayden Kinney was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Bears, while Luke Wright was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs.

Three pitchers combined on the shutout, led by Daithan Kent, who went three innings and struck out a pair.

Cole Kellogg had three hits for Eisenhower. Derek Childs took the loss, allowing 12 hits and six earned runs while striking out eight.

GREENVILLE 7, REYNOLDS 0

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Carter Reichard tossed six shutout innings as Greenville beat Reynolds, 7-0.

Reichard allowed just four hits, struck out six and walked one.

Jack Strausser and Noah Philson had two RBIs each for Greenville, while Nick Solderich was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs.

HARBOR CREEK 12, SENECA 2, 5 innings

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Tyler Burick had a huge day at the plate as Harbor Creek beat Seneca, 12-2 in five innings.

Burick was 4-for-4 with two home runs, a triple and three RBIs in Harbor Creek’s 12-2, 5-inning win over Seneca.

The Huskies scored four runs in the third inning and five more in the fourth to pull away. Caden Folmar was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs, while Sam LaFuria was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Gio Barbato was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run.

LaFuria got the win, allowing one earned run in five innings on four hits, striking out nine and walking one.

Lucas Rupp and Michael Peterson had one RBI each for Seneca.

SAEGERTOWN 13, IROQUOIS 0, 5 innings

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Saegertown erupted for 10 runs in the third inning of a 13-0, 5-inning win over Iroquois.

William Shaffer and Blake Leslie led a balanced offensive attack with two RBIs each for the Panthers, while Blake Burchill was 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs and Luke Young was 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run

Burchill tossed four shutout innings to get the win, striking out six and allowing just one hit without issuing a walk.

Ethan Alderson took the loss, allowing nine runs in 2 ⅓ innings.

MERCYHURST PREP 9, NORTHWESTERN 1

ALBION, Pa. – Alex Manendo was 2-for-5 with three RBIs as Mercyhurst Prep beat Northwestern, 9-1.

Brady Rice fired a 2-hitter, striking out eight and walking four in the win.

Nick Trojanowski had two hits and scored two runs for the Lakers.

Nick Timm took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in 4 ⅓ innings on six hits, striking out one and walking one.

SHARON 7, TITUSVILLE 0

SHARON, Pa. – Tino Piccirilli, Will Beckert and Owen Schenker drove in one run each as Sharon blanked Titusville, 7-0.

Schenker had two hits in the win.

Ethan Engelmore (3 ⅔ innings) and Tommy Gargasz (3 ⅓ innings) combined to allow just two hits and strike out eight in the win.

Jaxon Covell took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in two innings.
