DUBOIS, Pa. – A five-run seventh inning helped Punxsutawney break open a close game on its way to an 8-3 win over DuBois at Showers Field in DuBois.
The Chucks led 3-2 after DuBois scored a run in the bottom of the sixth but a couple of errors and a couple of walks helped Punxsutawney push the lead to 8-2.
Brody Stouffer went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and three RBIs.
Nate Kendrick was also 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for Punxsutawney, while Parker Stahlman went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Coy Martino got the win going five innings allowing one unearned run on two hits, four walks, and a hit batter while striking out eight.
Donnie Bender got the save going two innings allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out one.
Kaden Clark was 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI for DuBois while Trey Wingard was 2-for-4.
Noah Farrell took the loss going six innings allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits and two walks while striking out eight.
JOHNSONBURG 7, BROCKWAY 2
BROCKWAY, Pa. – Up 3-2 going to the seventh, Johnsonburg scored four times on its way to a 7-2 victory at Brockway.
Hunter Beeler went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored for the Rams, while Luke Zimmerman went 2-for-5 with two RBIs.
Isaiah Jackson also drove in two runs going 1-for-3 with two walks and a run scored.
Cam Larkin got the win going 4 ⅓ innings allowing two unearned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out seven.
Zimmerman picked up the save going 2 ⅔ innings allowing a hit while striking out four.
Gage Park had a walk and an RBI for Brockway, while Jeremy Swanson was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Caleb Daugherty went 2-for-4 with a double while Ben Yale was 2-for-3 with a double.
Andrew Brubaker took the loss going four innings allowing two earned runs on three hits, a hit batter, and five walks while striking out two.
KANE 10, ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 0, 5 INNINGS
ST. MARYS, Pa. – Phinn Chamberlain tossed a five-inning, three-hit shutout to lead visiting Kane to a 10-0, five-inning win over Elk County Catholic at Berwind Park in St. Marys.
Chamberlain walked one and struck out three.
Isiah Smith drove in two runs for the Wolves going 2-for-3 with a walk, while Kyle Zook was 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Brock Wensel also went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored.
Pat Forster was 2-for-2 for ECC.
Matthew Gilmore took the loss going 4 ⅓ innings allowing seven runs, three earned, on eight hits and two walks while striking out three.
