DuBois Grapplers Claim Four Titles, Bradford Two at D4/9 Class 3A Wrestling Championships Powered by Luton’s Plumbing, Heating, A/C

JERSEY SHORE, Pa. – DuBois claimed four individual titles and Bradford two at the District 4/9 Class 3A wrestling championships on Saturday.

                        

DuBois’ Samson Deeb (127), Brendan Orr (133), Davey Aughenbaugh (139), and Zach Gallagher all claimed titles, as did Bradford’s Jordan Thompson (145) and Lucas Laktash (160).

Deeb pinned Selinsgrove’s Landyn Lukens in the first period, while Orr earned a 3-0 decision over Brady Moyer of Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, Aughenbaugh won via a 6-3 decision over Selinsgrove’s Trent Tuner and Gallagher won 3-2 in an ultimate tiebreaker over Williamsport’s Brycen Delker.

For Bradford, Thompson got a 5-4 decision over Williamsport’s Carter Weaver, while Laktash got a first-period pin over Connor Wetzel of Shikellamy.

                              

DuBois’ Antonio Giambanco got to the finals and lost via major decision at 107.

Punxsutawney’s Dysen Gould (114) and Grant Miller (172) also got to the finals, with Gould falling by pin and Miller by injury default in the third period.

Shikellamy was first in the team standings with 186.5, followed by Williamsport (167), Selinsgrove (157), DuBois (144), Punxsutawney (120.5), Bradford (95), Jersey Shore (89), and Columbia Montour Vo-Tech.

The top five wrestlers in each weight class advanced to next week’s North West Regional at Altoona.
