The proposed regions still need to be approved by the district.

Class 4A comprises three regions with a bump from 10 to 16 teams. Mercer is the lone 3A team in Region 4 with Hickory, Grove City, Slippery Rock, Sharon, and 2024 PIAA Class 1A quarterfinalist Farrell.

Corry and Seneca are the two 3A teams in Region 5, alongside 4A teams Conneaut, 2024 PIAA 3A runner-up Franklin, Fort LeBoeuf, Oil City, Titusville, and defending D10 4A champion Warren.

Region 6 will boast a pair of defending D10 champs, though both have moved up a class. 2024 D10 2A champion Iroquois is now in 3A along with Northwestern. They are joined in the region by 4A teams Fairview, General McLane, 2024 D10 3A champion and PIAA semifinalist Girard, Harbor Creek, and North East.

The total regions increased from six to eight on the girls’ side. The “south” regions, 1 and 4, from the previous cycle were essentially split to create a new region. Kennedy Catholic, Mercer, and West Middlesex from Region 1 and Wilmington and Sharpsville from Region 4 are now combined in the new Region 2.

The former Regions 2, 3, and 4 are now Regions 3, 4, and 5. Titusville moved into the new Region 6, while the old Region 6 was split to create Regions 7 and 8. Corry, Fairview, Fort LeBoeuf, General McLane, and Harbor Creek are now Region 7.

In Region 8 it’s Cathedral Prep (5A), Erie (6A), McDowell (6A), and new 6A Warren (the Dragons had been reclassified to 5A but bumped up to 6A).

There’s some minor movement among the wrestling regions. Both Cathedral Prep and Hickory drop from 2A to 3A, while Harbor Creek moves up from 2A to 3A.

Hickory joins Region 1, Greenville moves from Region 1 to Region 2, Conneaut moves from Region 2 to Region 3, Cathedral Prep and Seneca both join Region 4, and Harbor Creek joins Region 5.

Swimming regions remain the same, though the Warren girls move up from 2A to 3A.
