Titusville’s Colon Earns MVP Honors as Team Rugg Wins 2024 Scenic Rivers YMCA Boys’ Basketball All-Star Game powered by the YDL Sports Network

CLARION, Pa. – Titusville’s Isiah Colon knocked down six 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 24 points to lead Team Rugg to a 113-106 win over Team Green in the fourth annual Scenic Rivers YMCA Boys’ All-Star Game powered by the YDL Sports Network Sunday at the Clarion County YMCA.

Colon came out firing knocking down three 3-pointers in the first quarter alone while scoring 11 first-quarter points to help keep Team Rugg in the game after a fast start by Team Green that saw it leading 27-21 at the end of 10 minutes.

                                      

Team Rugg came roaring back in the second quarter to take a 50-47 halftime lead thanks to seven points from Cameron County’s Josh Smith and six from Clarion-Limestone’s Jack Craig.

The lead grew to five, 83-78, by the end of the third quarter thanks to a fantastic quarter from Colon, who nailed three 3-pointers and scored 13 points in the quarter.

The difference in the game was the outside shooting of Team Rugg. It hit 18 3-pointers compared to six by Team Green.

Craig added 15 points for Team Rugg with Smith and Clarion’s Dawson Smail each adding 13 points and Clarion’s Devon Lauer chipping in 12 tallies.

DuBois’ Tyson Kennis led Team Green with 17 points with Coudersport’s Reilly Streich adding 14 points and five players each scoring 10 points including Elk County Catholic’s Jordan Wasko, Franklin’s Jalen Wood, Brookville’s Jack Pete, Cambridge Springs’ Parker Schmidt, and C-L Jack Callen.

                          

In addition to the YDL Sports Network, the game was also sponsored by Pizza Hut, Janney Montgomery Scott in Clarion, Delta Contractors & Design, and the Allegheny Grille in Foxburg.

Notes: The coaches for Team Rugg were Moniteau’s Mike Jewart and C-L’s Jack Craig. The coaches from Team Green were Cambridge Spring’s Becky Leanardo and Brookville’s Matt Reitz … Referees for the game were Ryan Smith and Jim Lambert … The contest consisted of four 10-minute quarters.
