D9/10 Wrestlers Have Sights Set on Gold as PIAA Individual Wrestling Championships Begin Powered by Luton’s Plumbing, Heating, A/C

HERSHEY, Pa. – The Super Bowl of high school wrestling in Pennsylvania has arrived as the PIAA individual wrestling championships begin Thursday at the Giant Center in Hershey.

                        

CLASS 2A BRACKETCLASS 3A BRACKET

A total of nine returning state medalists highlight the District 9 and District 10 contingent, including one, Hickory’s Connor Saylor, who competed in Class 2A last season and will be in 3A this time around.

The Class 2A returning medalists include Cranberry’s Elijah Brosius, Saegertown’s Carter Beck, Conneaut’s Hunter Gould, Brookville’s Cole Householder, Fort LeBoeuf’s JoJo Przybycien, Grove City’s Hunter Hohman, and Girard’s Abe Keep in Class 2A, as well as Clearfield’s Carter Chamberlain in Class 3A.

Action gets underway on Thursday with the Class 2A preliminary and first-round matches at 9 a.m., followed by the Class 2A first-round consolations at 9:30 a.m.

                              

Class 3A begins with the preliminary and first-round matches at 4 p.m., followed by the first-round consolations at 8:15 p.m.

They will be joined by teammates Artis Simmons at 152 and Troy Petterson at 215.

They will be joined at states by Hickory’s Brody Bishop at 107, Cathedral Prep’s Sam Staab at 127, DuBois’ Brendan Orr at 133, Meadville’s Ben Fuller at 107, Punxsutawney’s Dysen Gould at 114, Prep’s Keagen Oler at 121, Saylor at 139, Meadville’s Rhoan Woodrow at 215 and DuBois’ Zach Gallagher at 285.
