Soft: Barnonick Leads DuBois Past Altoona; DCC Second at Bellefonte To.; Siples Ks 16 in Curwensville Victory powered by N. Washington Rodeo

ALTOONA, Pa. – Ava Baronick hit a three-run home run while going 2-for-4 with a run scored and four RBIs to lead DuBois to a 9-4 win at Altoona.

Baronick was also the winning pitcher going seven innings allowing four runs, three earned, on six hits, two walks, and two hit batters. She struck out three.

Jordan McGranor added a 3-for-4 day for the Lady Beavers with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIS, while Addi Lilja was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Haley Reed also went 2-for-5 with two doubles and a run scored for DuBois.

                  

DCC TAKES SECOND AT BELLEFONTE TOURNAMENT

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – DuBois Central Catholic took second at the Bellefonte Tournament beating the host Red Raiders, 7-2, in the opener before allowing two late runs in a 2-1 loss to Central Mountain in the title game.

Rylee Kulbatsky and Melia Mitskavich teamed up in the win over Bellefonte to limit the Red Raiders to just six hits.

Kulbatsky got the win going four innings allowing two hits while striking out nine.

Mitskavich got the save going three innings allowing two earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six.

                          

Kayley Risser paced DCC’s offense going 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Kulbatsky helped her own cause going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, while Lauren Davidson was 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored. Jessy Frank walked once and scored twice in the win.

In the title game, DCC led 1-0 going to the sixth before Central Mountain tied the game on a two-out Taylor Wahlers double to right.

Then, in the seventh, an error on Risser on what would have been the third out allowed the go-ahead run to score.

That was enough offense for Adalynn McKeague who went seven innings allowing an earned run on four hits and a walk while striking out 10.

               

Kulbatsky was the hard-luck loser going seven innings allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits and six walks while striking out 12.

Frank was 3-for-3 with a triple and a run scored for DCC, which suffered its first loss.

Central Mountain beat Tyrone, 17-0, in five innings in the semifinals, while Bellefonte beat Tyrone, 10-7, in the consolation game.

CURWENSVILLE 2, GLENDALE 0

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Addison Siple tossed a three-hit shutout while striking out 16 to lift Curwensville to a 2-0 win over visiting Glendale.

Siple walked one.

Addison Warren had both RBIs for the Lady Tide on a two-run single in the fourth. She was 1-for-3 in the game.

Hannah Simmers took the loss going six innings allowing two earned runs on four hits and five walks while striking out eight.

Madison Peterson was 1-for-2 with a double to pace the Glendale offense.

            

OWAYO VALLEY 10, BRADFORD 3

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Shayden Mesler led a 15-hit attack by going 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs, as Oswayo Valley beat visiting Bradford, 10-3.

Catelyn Dailey added a pair of doubles while going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for the Green Wave, while Brooke George was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.

Winning pitcher Eva West was 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, an RBI, and three runs scored, and Grace Rositxzke was 2-of-4.

West went seven innings in the circle allowing three earned runs on three hits, five walks, and two hit batters. She struck out six.

Daisy Greene was 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk, and an RBI for Bradford.

Greene took the loss going six innings allowing 10 runs, five earned, on nine hits, three walks, and a hit batter. She struck out four.

OTTO-ELDRED SWEEPS KEYSTONE

KNOX, Pa. – Visiting Otto-Eldred swept a doubleheader from Keystone by scores of 16-2 in five innings and 14-2 in five innings.

In the 16-2 win, Carrier Drummond went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored, and five RBIs, while Jessi Hall and Rayel Hakes each added three RBIs.

Hall was 2-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored, and Hakes went 4-for-4 with a run scored.

Hakes got the win going five innings allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits and two walks while striking out nine.

Emma Grubber was 1-for-1 with a triple, two walks, and a run scored for Keystone.

Isabella Brannon took the loss going five innings allowing 16 runs, just one earned, on 14 hits, four walks, and a hit batter. She struck out six.

In the 14-2 victory, Drummond had three RIS while going 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, and three runs scored.

Lexi Prince and Bailee Olmstead each added a pair of RBIs for the Lady Terrors with Prince walking once and Olmestea going 1-for-2 with a walk.

Kyla Andreano was also 3-for-3 with a walk and four runs scored in the victory, while Hall was 3-for-4 with three runs scored.

Kate Rhinehart got the win going five innings of two-hit ball She gave up two unearned runs while walking one and hitting three. She struck out eight.

Gruber was 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI for Keystone.

Emilee Dixon took the loss going four innings allowing 14 runs, 11 earned, on 10 hits, 11 walks, and a hit batter. She struck out two.

WILLIAMSON 15, NORTHERN POTTER 4, 6 INNINGS

ULYSSES, Pa. – Kenna Thomas came a single away from the cycle while driving in five runs to lead Williamson to a 15-4, six-inning win at Northern Potter.

Thomas was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, and a home run. She scored three times.

Olivia Gee got the win allowing four earned runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out eight in six innings.

Kayla Hyde and Zoe White each had a pair of RBIs for Northern Potter with Hyde going 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored and White going 1-for-3 with a double.

Jaylyn Williammee was 3-for-3 with a double for the Lady Panthers and Emma Haynes was 2-for-2 with a walk and a run score.d

Williammee took the loss allowing 15 runs, 11 earned, in six innings of work. She gave up 13 hits and three walks while striking out 12.
