NORTH CLARION 2, A-C VALLEY/UNION 0

DUBOIS, Pa. – Aiden Hartle threw a five-hit shutout to lift North Clarion past A-C Valley/Union, 2-0, at Stern Field in DuBois.

Hartle didn’t walk anyone and struck out nine.

   

                  

He outdueled Bailey Crissman and Gary Amsler.

Crissman went 5 ⅓ innings allowing two unearned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out nine. Amsler finished off pitching 1 ⅔ innings of scoreless ball allowing a hit while striking out four.

Hartle also walked and scored a run for North Clarion, while Isaac Gilara was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored and Drake Irwin was 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.

Lane Bauer went 2-for-3 for A-C Valley/Union with Amsler going 1-for-3 with a double.

CURWENSVILLE 3, WEST BRANCH 1

                          

MORRISDALE, Pa. – A gem from Jake Mullins helped visiting Curwensville turnback West Branch, 3-1.

Mullins went six innings on 106 pitches allowing an earned run on five hits and two walks while striking out 13. Jayson Rowles picked up the save pitching a scoreless inning of relief walking two and striking out one.

Mullins helped himself out at the plate going 2-for-4 with a run scored. Chris Fegert was also 2-for-3 for the Golden Tide.

Tyler Lee (1-for-3, 1 run) and Thad Butler (1-for-3 with a double) each drove in runs for Curwensville.

               

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 9, BROCKWAY 0

DUBOIS, Pa. – Carter Hickman and Kaden Brezenski combined on a no-hitter to help DuBois Central Catholic, the visiting team at Stern Field in DuBois, beat Brockway, 9-0.

Hickman went 5 ⅔ innings walking three and striking out 15, while Brezenski pitched the final 1 ⅓ walking one and striking out four.

Aiden Snowberger led the offense for DCC going 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, and three runs scored. Hickman was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and two RBIs, and Brayden Fox went 1-for-5 with a pair of RBIs.

Matthew Brubaker took the loss going four innings for Brockway allowing six earned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out six. Daniel Schugarts pitched three innings allowing three earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three.

REDBANK VALLEY 11, CLARION 3

FAIRMOUNT CITY, Pa. – Bryson Bain shook off a tough first inning, and Owen Clouse and Tate Minich hit home runs to help Redbank Valley beat visiting Clarion, 11-3.

Bain pitched six innings allowing three earned runs, all in the first inning, on seven hits, two walks, and a hit batter while striking out five. Ty Carrier pitched a scoreless inning of relief allowing one hit.

Clouse and Minich, meanwhile, combined to go 6-for-9 with four runs scored, and seven RBIs.

Minich drove in five and was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, and Clouse was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

            

Breckin Minich also drove in three for the Bulldogs going 2-for-3 with a walk, while Tyler Hetrick scored three runs and was 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI.

Dawson Smail paced Clarion going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Ryan Alston was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Chase Kriebel was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Devon Lauer took the loss going 1 ⅓ innings allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out one. Tanner Miller pitched an inning giving up five earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out one. Daunte Girvan pitched two innings allowing two earned runs on two hits and three walks while striking out one, and Dawson Smail pitched 1 ⅔ innings striking out three.




JOHNSONBURG 16, KANE 0, 3 INNINGS

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Ethan Wells went 3-for-3 with three home runs, three runs scored, and seven RBIs in a 16-0, three-inning Johnsonburg win at home.

Caden Smiley also drove in a pair of runs for the Rams while going 1-for-1 with two runs scored, and Aiden Zimmerman was 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Collin Porter got the win for Johnsonburg going three innings allowing one hit and a walk while striking out four.

Harley Morris had the hit for Kane.

Justin Peterson took the loss going 1 ⅔ innings allowing 10 earned runs on seven hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out five. Andy Jekielek threw a ⅓ of an inning allowing six earned runs on four hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out one.
