Soft: DeLuca, McDowell Edge Prep; Obenrader Strikes Out 17 for Saegertown Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

ERIE, Pa. – Gabby DeLuca did it all for McDowell, firing a 3-hit shutout and accounting for the only run of the game on a solo home run in the Trojans’ 1-0 win over rival Cathedral Prep.

DeLuca had two of McDowell’s three hits. She struck out 12 and didn’t issue a walk.

Madison Simmerman was the tough-luck losing pitcher for Prep, allowing one run on three hits, striking out 12 and walking two.

SAEGERTOWN 11, COCHRANTON 1

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Mikaila Obenrader struck out 17 as Saegertown beat Cochranton, 11-1.

   

                  

Obenrader allowed just two hits and one walk and was also 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Kacie Mook was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs for Saegertown, while Maggie Triola was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs and Leah McGill 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Dani Hoffman was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple for Cochranton. Brooklyn Needler took the loss, allowing 11 runs (four earned) on 12 hits, striking out five and walking one.

IROQUOIS 13, EISENHOWER 4

RUSSELL, Pa. – Karina Reichard had three RBIs, two hits and two runs to help power Iroquois to a 13-4 win over Eisenhower.

                          

Iroquois had 18 hits in the win, as Phoenix Thomas was 4-for-5 with two RBIs, Riann Donoghue 4-for-5 with an RBI, Baelyn Randolph 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Fiona Yelkovich 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Thomas got the win, allowing four runs (three earned) in seven innings on six hits while striking out 14.

Julia Gesing had a double and an RBI for Eisenhower, while Payton Frank had a pair of hits and scored a run.

Samantha Childs took the loss, allowing 13 runs (12 earned) and striking out seven.

               

FORT LEBOEUF 25, GIRARD 5, 5 innings

GIRARD, Pa. – Kiernan Skelton was 3-for-5 with four RBIs as Fort LeBoeuf, 25-5 in five innings.

LeBoeuf had nine runs in the fourth inning and eight in the fifth.

Maggie Lemock was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, while Ibree Rodgers, Ava Campbell and Tessa Bellis drove in two runs each.

Rodgers got the win, allowing five runs (two earned) in five innings on six hits while striking out four.

SHARON 11, FRANKLIN 1, 6 innings

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Maddy Vogan and Claire Bodien drove in three runs each as Sharon beat Franklin, 11-1 in six innings.

Vogan homered, doubled and was also the winning pitcher, allowing one run on five hits and striking out six.

Bodien had a pair of hits, including a double, while Mya Bundrant was 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs and Dalani Bayer 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Jersey Swartz took the loss, allowing 20 hits and striking out 11 in six innings.

            

SLIPPERY ROCK 9, GROVE CITY 0

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Mia Sosa and Maddy Horner drove in two runs each as Slippery Rock blanked Grove City, 9-0.

Horner had four hits and Sosa two, with Sosa also getting the win in the circle. She allowed just five hits, struck out six and walked two.

Kara Kook took the loss, allowing 13 hits and six earned runs while striking out one.

HARBOR CREEK 11, FAIRVIEW 1, 5 innings

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Georgia Weber and Talon King drove in two runs each as Harbor Creek beat Fairview, 11-1.

The Huskies scored eight runs in the fifth innings, as four other players had one RBI each, and Rylee Vogt and AB Cipalla collecting two hits each.

Addison Lucas got the win, allowing one unearned run on four hits, striking out nine without issuing a walk.

Jocelyn Terella had a pair of hits for Fairview. Carissa Worline took the loss, allowing 11 runs (nine earned) in 4 ⅔ innings on 11 hits.

WEST MIDDLESEX 21, REYNOLDS 1, 3 innings

TRANSFER, Pa. – Harper Nickel went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to help West Middlesex past Reynolds, 21-1 in three innings.

Ava Gilmore hit a solo home run for the Big REds, while Emily Dick, Kadence Leonard and Morgan Harkless drove in two runs each.

Nickel got the win, allowing one unearned run on two hits in three innings, striking out six.

WILMINGTON 15, LAKEVIEW 0, 3 innings

STONEBORO, Pa. – Karah Deal homered and had two RBIs, while Ava Williamson had two hits and three RBIs in Wilmington’s 15-0, 3-inning win over Lakeview.

Wilmington had 12 hits, and seven other players drove in one run each.

Stella Maynard got the win, allowing one hit and striking out four in her three innings of work.

Chloe Geiger took the loss, allowing 11 earned runs and striking out a pair in three innings.
