Siple Records Every Out By K in Five-Inning Cville Victory; Wetzel Hits for Cycle in ACV/Union Win powered by N. Washington Rodeo

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Addison Siple recorded every out by strikeout in a five-inning, 11-1, Curwensville win over visiting Purchase Line.

The 15 punchouts give Siple 57 in just 26 innings of work this season. She allowed one earned run on two hits and two walks in the win.

If that wasn’t enough, Siple also went deep for the Lady Tide going 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Natalie Wischuck and Briah Peoples added doubles for Curwensville with Peoples going 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Wischuck going 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs.

   

                  

Also for the Tide, Ava Olosky was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Addison Warren went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

A-C VALLEY/UNION 20, YOUNGSVILLE 12

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Overcoming a 9-2 deficit after two innings by scoring six runs in the third and six more in the fourth, visiting A-C Valley/Union beat Youngsville, 20-12.

Bella Ielase hit a pair of home runs for the Falcon Knights, part of a five-homer day (all of the inside-the-park variety as Youngsville has no fence) for A-C Valley/Union, and Kya Wetzel hit for the cycle (single, double, triple, and home run) going and drove in seven runs.

Wetzel wad 4-for-4 with three runs scored, while Ielase was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

                          

Brianna Anthony and Alivya Hartzell also went deep in the win with Anthony going 2-fo-6 with three runs scored and an RBI and Hartzell, who also added a double, going 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Emerson Stevens chipped in a three-hit day for the Falcon Knights going 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored, while Ava Snyder was 3-for-5 with a triple, three runs scored, and two RBIs.

Magen Walzak got the win going six innings in relief allowing three runs, one earned, on four hits, five walks, and two hit batters. She struck out six.

Kamden Swearingen was 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored, and four RBIs for Youngsville while Madison Carnahan went 1-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Alyssa Gentz was also 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and an RBI for the Eagles.

               

Swearingen took the loss.

BRADFORD 20, KANE 16

KANE, Pa. – Led by four RBIs from Kendyl Cruz, Bradford had five different players drive in multiple runs in a wild 20-16 win at Kane.

Cruz was 4-for-6 with a double, a triple, a walk, and three runs scored.

Adilynn Brown hit a home run for the Lady Owls while going 1-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Kalie Dixon was 2-for-4 with a double, two walks, two runs scored, and three RBIs, Sophie Cornelius went 2-for-5 with a walk, two RBIs, and four runs scored, Daisy Greene was 2-for-5 with a walk and two RBIs, and Bella Zandy was 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Also for Bradford, Kasey Poe went 2-for-4 with two walks and four runs scored.

Dixon got the win going six innings allowing 15 runs, seven earned, on 12 hits, five walks, and a hit batter. She struck out four.

Maya Smith was 4-for-5 with two triples, two runs scored, and seven RBIs for Kane, while Leah Tigani went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and four runs scored.

Also for the Lady Wolves, Hailee Sheaffer was 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored, Sara Ely was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored, and Cadence Carlson-Maybury was 1-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs.

            

Tigani took the loss going 5 ⅓ innings allowing 18 runs, 12 earned, on 16 hits and six walks while striking out two.

ELK COUTY CATHOLIC 10, OTTO-ELDRED 5

ST. MARYS, Pa. – A seven-run fifth inning that featured a pair of home runs helped Elk County Catholic overcome a 5-2 deficit on its way to a 10-5 win over visiting Otto-Eldred at Benzinger Park in St. Marys.

Lucy Klawuhn hit a game-tying three-run home run in the fifth before Bailey Thorwart’s two-run blast gave the Lady Crusaders the lead.

Mackenzie Bille then capped the fifth-inning rally with a two-run single.

Klawuhn had a big day at the plate going 4-for-4 with the home run, a double, three runs scored, and three RBIs.

Thorwart also drove in three going 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, while Syd Alexander was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Emily Mourer got the win going seven innings allowing five runs, two earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out nine.

Carrie Drummond had a strong day for Otto-Eldred going 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, three runs scored, and an RBI.

Kyla Andreano scored twice for the Lady Terrors while walking twice.

Kate Rhinehart took the loss going six innings allowing 10 runs, nine earned, on 13 hits, a walk, and two hit batters. She struck out three.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 17, CENTRAL CLARION 1, 4 INNINGS

DUBOIS, Pa. – Melia Mitskavich hit a pair of home runs while going 2-for-2 with a walk, three runs scored, and five RBIs to lead DuBois Central Catholic past visiting Central Clarion, 17-1, in four innings.

Lauren Davidson added three RBIs in the victory going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, while Kali Franklin was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI.

Also for the Lady Cards, Kiki Foster went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBIs, Jessy Frank was 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI, and Kayley Risser was 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored.

Rylee Kulbatsky got the win going three innings allowing an unearned run on a hit while striking out eight.

Abby Knapp-Greeley was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Central Clarion.

Kaylee Smith took the loss going 3 ⅓ innings allowing 17 runs, 16 earned, on 18 hits and two walks while striking out one.

JOHNSONBURG SWEEPS PORT ALLEGANY

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Johnsonburg swept a doubleheader at Port Allegany winning Game One 14-0 in five innings and Game Two 20-5 in three innings to pick up its first two wins of the season.

In the first game, Natalie Dunworth picked up the shutout going five innings allowing seven hits and a walk while striking out eight.

Josie Gerber hit a home run for the Ramettes while Zoey Grunthaner and Shelby Sorg both had doubles.

Gerber was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs, Grunthaner was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs, and Sorg was 1-for-1 with three walks, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Also for Johnsonburg, Izzi Lawrie went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, Gia Zimmerman was 2-for-3 with a walk, Icy Addeo was 2-for-4 with a run scored, Dunworth walks three times and scored three times, and Dana Beimel went 1-for-2 with three walks and three runs scored.

Maddy Errick was 1-for-3 with a double for Port Allegany.

Alyssa Tanner took the loss going five innings allowing 14 runs, 12 earned, on 10 hits and 11 walks while striking out three.

In the nightcap, Grunthaner had a pair of doubles and five RBIs while going 3-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.

Ruby Miller also doubled while going 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs, Dunworth scored three more runs while going 1-for-1 with three walks and two RBIs, Sorg was 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs, Beimel wa 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored, and Addeo was 1-for-1 with a walk, two RBIs, and three runs scored.

Beimel and Dunworth pitched for the Ramettes with Beimel going 1 ⅓ allowing five earned runs on two hits, eight walks, and a hit batter while striking out two and Dunworth going ⅔ of an inning striking out one.

Tanner walked twice and had two RBIs for Port Allegany while Gianna Glasgow was 1-for-1 with a walk and two runs scored.

Tanner took the loss not recording an out while giving up seven earned runs on three hits and three walks.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 8, MONITEAU 0

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Brinley Hallman and Olivia Toven combined to toss a three-hit shutout as Punxsutawney topped visiting Moniteau, 8-0.

Hallman got the win going six innings of three-hit ball. She walked three and struck out nine. Toven then pitched a scoreless inning walking two and hitting a batter.

Ciarra Toven led the offensive attack for the Lady Chucks going 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, and three RBIs.

Brynn Hergert was also 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs, while Avary Powell went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.

Emily Staab was 2-for-3 for Moniteau.

Graysen Rottman took the loss going six innings giving up eight runs, seven earned, on seven hits, five walks, and two hit batters. She struck out four.

CRANBERRY 15, REDBANK VALLEY 5

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Haylie Gregory went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, three runs scored, and an RBI to help visiting Cranberry to a 15-5 win over Redbank Valley.

Reyna Watson drove in three runs for the Berries while going 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored.

Also for Cranberry, Keelie Schneider, Cassie Scarbrough, Denali Wenner, and Avery Coe each had two RBIs.

Schneider was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and four runs scored, Scarbrough was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, Wenner was 2-for-5 with a double, and Coe was 1-for-4 with a double.

Jadyn Shumaker also doubles for Cranberry while going 1-for-4 with a walk and three runs scored, and Gracee Hess scored twice.

Hess got the win in relief of Schneider tossing four innings allowing an earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out seven. Schneider went three innings giving up four runs, two earned, on four hits and a walk.

Quinn White and Keyauna Schimp hit home runs for Redbank Valley.

White had a super night at the plate adding a triple and a double while going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Schimp was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI, and Izzy Bond went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Mackenzie Foringer took the loss allowing 15 runs, seven earned, on 12 hits and four walks while striking out three.

TITUSVILLE 17, FOREST AREA 9

TIONESTA, Pa. – Titusville scored 16 runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings of a 17-9 win over Forest Area.

Danica Fonzo hit a two-run home run to help pace an 11-hit attack for the Rockets. Fonzo finished with two hits, three RBIs, four runs, and three walks.

Sky Bierce was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for the Rockets, while Kasey Krepps was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs, Kyra Atkins was 3-for-5 with three runs and an RBI, and Sydney Rhodes was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Bierce got the win, allowing five earned runs in six innings on nine hits, walking one.

Titusville also took advantage of six Forest Area errors.

Alexa Carll was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Forest Area, while Jayden Colvin also drove in a pair of runs. Faith Dietrich went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Brooke Felleti was 1-for-2 with three runs scored and Akeela Greenawalt was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Izzy Flick suffered the loss, allowing six runs in four innings on five hits, striking out four and walking six.

FOREST HILLS 12, DUBOIS 2, 5 INNINGS

SIDMAN, Pa. – Avery Smiach was 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and five RBIs and was also the winning pitcher in a 12-2, five-inning win for Forest Hills over visiting DuBois.

Smiach allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out nine in five innings of work.

Morgan Pasternak was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored for DuBois while Jordan McGranor was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs.

Ava Baronick took the loss going 4 ⅔ innings allowing 12 runs, seven earned, on 10 hits, three walks, and a hit batter. She struck out seven.

WELLBORO 30, COUDERSPORT 9, 4 INNINGS

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Taking advantage of 28 free passes – 22 walks and six hit batters – visiting Wellsboro beat Coudersport, 30-9, in four innings.

Thanks to the freebies, the Hornets scored 30 runs with just eight hits. Coudersport also committed three errors.

Paige Logsdon drove in five runs for Wellsboro going 2-for-2 with two doubles, two walks, two hit by pitches, and five runs scored.

Arianah Lawton also added four RBIS while going 2-for-2 with two walks and three runs scored. She was also hit by a pitch.

Mazie Johnson got the win going three innings allowing nine runs, seven earned, on nine hits and three walks while striking out four.

Sierra Myers and Laura Dunn each drove in a pair of runs for Coudersport with Myers going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Dunn going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored. Marah Fowler was also 2-for-3 with a run scored as was Lily Clinger.

Hannah Fleniken took the loss going 2 ⅔ inning allowing 15 runs, 12 earned, on six hits, 13 walks, and two hit batters. She struck out six.
