Lanagan Takes No-Hitter Into Seventh of Harbor Creek Win; Hickory Triumphs, McDowell Splits Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Preston Lanagan took a no-hitter into the seventh innings as Harbor Creek beat Russell, 2-0.

Lanagan struck out 10 and walked just three in his 6 ⅓ innings of work, before allowing a single to Nick Adams to lead off the seventh.

Sam LaFuria came in and got a groundout and a strikeout to end it.

Harbor Creek got on the board in the fifth on Tyler Burick’s RBI single and added an insurance run in the sixth on Jake Rzodkiewicz’s RBI double.

Rzodkiewicz and Caden Folmar had two hits each for the Huskies.

   

                  

HICKORY 6, CONNEAUT 4

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Alex Flickinger (home run) and Joey Cidila drove in two runs each as Hickory beat Conneaut, 6-4.

The Hornets built a 6-1 lead and held off a late rally attempt by Conneaut, which scored three runs in the seventh inning before Hickory secured the win.

Luke Ferrence got the win for the Hornets, going 4 ⅓ innings and allowing one run on five hits, striking out one and walking two.

Max Moreland was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Hornets, while Parker Hilliard also had two hits.

                          

Gavin White was 2-for-2 with a triple, RBI, two walks and two runs scored for CASH, while Alex Wilpula was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Wyatt Cornman took the loss for CASH. He allowed four runs on 10 hits in five innings, striking out five and walking five.

MCDOWELL 9, ST. THOMAS MORE (Conn.) 1
DEPAUL COLLEGE PREP (Ill.) 15, MCDOWELL 5, 6 innings

ATLANTA – McDowell split a pair of games on their spring trip Wednesday, beating St. Thomas More (Conn.) 9-1 and falling to DePaul College Prep (Ill.) 15-5 in six innings.

               

In the 9-1 win over St. Thomas More (Conn.) Evan Stranko drove in five runs, including a 3-run double in the fourth inning. The Trojans scored six runs in the inning and Stranko finished 2-for-4 at the plate.

Gary Hills was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs for the Trojans, while Jake Hower also drove in a pair of runs.

Nick Hamilton got the win, going 5 ⅓ innings and allowing one run on three hits, striking out three and walking four. Stranko also tossed 1 ⅔ perfect innings of relief with a pair of strikeouts.

In the 15-5 loss, DePaul College Prep scored five runs each in the second, third and sixth innings.

Kline Barnhart had a pair of RBIs for McDowell
