Kuzminski, Warren Put Finishing Touches on Region 5 Title; Biel, Walz Help Prep Wrap Up Region 6 Crown

CORRY, Pa. – Warren wrapped up the Region 5 title with a 43-8 win over Corry on Monday.

The Lady Dragons (15-6), who have now won eight straight, clinched a share of the crown when they beat Meadville in their last game.

Halle Kuzminski had a big game for the Lady Dragons, pouring in 19 points, while Alana Stuart was also in double figures with 12.

Meea Irwin added five points for Warren and Sammie Ruhlman four.

Warren also held Corry scoreless in the second and third quarters.

                                      

Four players had two points each for Corry.

CATHEDRAL PREP 49, HARBOR CREEK 26

ERIE, Pa. – Addie Biel scored 16 points as Cathedral Prep wrapped up the Region 6 title with a 49-26 win over Harbor Creek.

The win was the 12th straight for the Ramblers, who earned a share of the title with their win over Fort LeBoeuf last week.

Lena Walz also had 15 points in the win for Prep.

                          

Brooke Przybylski had 16 points to lead Harbor Creek

MAPLEWOOD 61, COCHRANTON 46

GUYS MILLS, Pa. – Maplewood outscored Cochranton 18-4 in the third quarter en route to its eighth consecutive win, 61-46.

Sadie Thomas poured in a game-high 19 points for the Lady Tigers, while Madison Vergona had 11 points and Bailey Varndell 10.

Ella Gallo and Macie Williams scored 12 points each for Cochranton, while Marley Rodaz added 10.

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 45, UNION CITY 31

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Cambridge Springs outscored Union City 15-6 in the fourth quarter en route to a 45-31.

Makenzie Yanc had 15 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals to lead the Blue Devils, while Jordyn Wheeler had 10 points and six rebounds.

Finley Rauscher added seven points for Cambridge Springs, while Hailee Rodgers had six points and six rebounds.

Brooke VanTassel had 11 points to lead Union City.

                                   

CONNEAUT 60, OIL CITY 38

OIL CITY, Pa. – Lainie Harrington had 19 points, eight rebounds, and six steals as Conneaut powered past Oil City, 60-38.

Courtney Perrye and Hannah Brady were also in double figures scoring for CASH with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Morgan Poff had seven rebounds for CASH, while Jacqui Detelich and Eliza Harrington had three steals apiece.

Maddy Marczak had 15 points for Oil City and Payton Liederbach had 12.

WILMINGTON 70, SLIPPERY ROCK 27

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Lia Krarup scored 21 points as Wilmington toppled Slippery Rock, 70-27.

The win sets up a showdown between Wilmington and Greenville on Thursday for the Region 4 title.

Reese ruckner added 10 points and Ellery Phanco nine for Wilmington.

Madison Romanovich had eight points for Slippery Rock.

GREENVILLE 56, SHARON 31

SHARON, Pa. – Josie Lewis scored a game-high 18 points as Greenville powered past Sharon, 56-31.

Reese Schaller and Grace Cano were also in double figures for Greenville with 15 and 10 points, respectively.

Lacey Root had nine points and India McGee eight for Sharon.

MERCYHURST PREP 50, NORTH EAST 38

                                  

ERIE, Pa. – Olivia Kulyk had another big game with 26 points as Region 3 champion Mercyhurst Prep topped North East, 50-38.

Milly Pierce added nine points in the win for the Lakers.

Alex Cozzens had 12 points for North East.

SHARPSVILLE 45, HICKORY 33

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Tori Kimpan had 19 points and eight rebounds to help Sharpsville to a 45-33 win over Hickory.

Lily Palko had nine points and seven steals for the Blue Devils, while Chasie Fry had eight points and seven assists.

Kimora Roberts had 17 points for Hickory.

FRANKLIN 59, MEADVILLE 31

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Jamie Blum had a game-high 16 points as Franklin beat Meadville, 59-31.

Blum also had six rebounds and six assists, while Estella Adams had 15 points (five 3s) and six rebounds and Katie Boal had 12 points and eight boards.

Jenn Blum added nine points for Franklin.

YOUNGSVILLE 48, ROCKY GROVE 20

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Riley Robinault scored 16 points as Youngsville topped Rocky Grove, 48-20.

Youngsville led 16-3 after the first quarter en route to the win.

Zaylee Cressley was also in double figures for Youngsville with 12 points.

Rae Montgomery had 11 points for Rocky Grove.

NORTHWESTERN 48, SENECA 27

WATTSBURG, Pa. – McKayla Presser-Palmer led a balanced effort with 10 points as Northwestern beat Seneca, 48-27.

Lauren Konkol had eight points for Seneca.

LAKEVIEW 58, JAMESTOWN 18

STONEBORO, Pa. – Lakeview outscored Jamestown 23-3 in the second quarter on its way to a 58-18 win.

Emma MArsteller led a balanced Lakeview effort with 15 points, while Kyndra Seddon had 11 and Kelsey Seddon 10.

Alayna Cadman had 14 points for Jamestown.

MCDOWELL 53, FORT LEBOEUF 24

ERIE, Pa. – Nine different McDowell players scored in a 53-24 win over Fort LeBoeuf.

Mikaela Bennett and Amaiyah Nelson had 14 points apiece for the Trojans, while Caylen Spano added seven.

MERCER 48, FARRELL 43

FARRELL, Pa. – Pressley Washil scored 16 points as Mercer beat Farrell, 48-43.

McKenna McCandless added 12 points and Ashlynn Heckathorn nine for Mercer.

Damerra Thomas had a game-high 18 points for Farrell, while Gabby King added 11.
