Sheffield Claims Four Champions at Inaugural AML Wrestling Championships Powered by Powered by Luton’s Plumbing, Heating, A/C

BRADFORD, Pa. – Sheffield claimed four individual champions at the inaugural Allegheny Mountain League wrestling championships on Monday.

                        

Teams could enter an unlimited number of wrestlers, so no team scores were kept.

Kane, Port Allegany, and Bradford had two individual champions each.

Sheffield’s four champions came in consecutive fashion, all by pin – AJ Barnes at 121, Hayden Holden at 127, Collin Brown at 133 and Chase Kyler at 139.

Gavin Ayers also won a showdown over Port Allegany’s Miska Young, 2-0 in sudden victory at 215.

                              

Port Allegany had seven wrestlers in the finals, led by champions Jusso Young (189) and Carson Neely (285).

CRANBERRY 47, FRANKLIN 15

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Dane Wenner (145), Devyn Fleeger (152) and Henry Milford (285) all won by fall in Cranberry’s 47-15 win over Franklin.

                          

Cranberry’s Brayden McFetridge (215) and Conner Reszkowski (133) both won by tech fall, while Jack Nuhfer earned a 5-4 decision over Ethan Hart at 160 and Brandon Murray via a 13-0 major decision over Dallas Ross at 127.

Cranberry also won two bouts by forfeit.

Jonah Heckathorne (172) won by fall for Franklin, while Cael Dailey earned a 4-0 decision over Dalton Wenner at 114. Franklin also won one match by forfeit.
