Eckles Delivers Winner as St. Marys Beats Wellsville; Lakeview Picks up Victory

DUBOIS, Pa. – Avery Eckels’ RBI single to right with two outs in the bottom of the seventh scored Molly Hanslovan from second, as St. Marys walked off Wellsville (N.Y.), 4-3, at Heindl Field in DuBois.

Wellsville had tied the game with three runs off Eckles in the top of the seventh, including a game-tying two-run home run by Lindsey Stuck.

But in the bottom of the inning, Hanslovan drew a lead-off walk and was moved to second on a Jianna Gerg sac bunt. After Gianna Surra lined out, Eckels brought home the game-winning run on a 2-1 single/

St. Marys had taken a 3-0 lead with a three-run fifth inning that featured an RBI single by Hanslovan and a two-run double by Surra.

Surra was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, Eckels was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI, Hanslovan was 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored, and Giuliana Muccio was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.

   

                  

Sawayer Burlee was 2-for-4 with a run scored for Wellsville with Brazeh Bedowith going 2-for-4 with a double.

Eckels got the win going seven innings allowing three earned runs on 10 hits and a hit batter while striking out eight.

Mackenzie Coburn took the loss going 6 ⅔ innings allowing four runs, three earned, on six hits and sxi walks while striking out seven.

LAKEVIEW 19, FARRELL 2, 3 innings

STONEBORO, Pa. – Dakota Berlin was 2-for-2 with four RBIs as Lakeview earned a 19-2, 3-inning win over Farrell.

                          

Lakeview scored 11 runs in the first inning and collected 15 hits.

Gracie Harbaugh and Allison Sonteheimer had two RBIs each for the Sailors, while Chloe Geiger was 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs.

Geiger tossed a scoreless inning with three strikeouts.

Sadie Weiland and Lydia Latzoo had one RBI each for Farrell.

               

Maria Harrison took the loss, allowing 10 earned runs in two innings on 15 hits while striking out a pair.

COLTS NECK (N.J.) 14, MCDOWELL 1, 4 innings
PITTSFORD (N.Y.) 15, MCDOWELL 1, 3 innings

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – It was tough sledding for McDowell on day one of their spring trip, as the Trojans had just two combined hits in a 14-1, 4-inning loss to Colts Neck (N.J.) and a 15-1, 3-inning loss to Pittsford (N.Y.).

Ayva Mickel was 1-for-2 with an RBI in the loss to Colts Neck for the Trojans.

Maddy Matlock took the loss, allowing 10 earned runs in four innings on 14 hits, striking out one and walking two.

Aubrey Mejia had the lone hit in game two for McDowell. Mickel took the loss, allowing 13 earned runs in 2 ⅓ innings on 11 hits and five walks allowed.
