Big, Bad Bowser: 26 points, 24 Rebounds from Bowser Lifts Keystone Girls to Win; NC Girls KSAC Divisional Champs; DCC Boys Get Important Win

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – A monster night from Natalie Bowser led Keystone to a 62-52 KSAC Large School road win over Clarion-Limestone.

The Lady Panther senior forward had 26 points and 24 rebounds.

Twenty-two of Browser’s points came in the first three quarters, as Keystone took a 46-28 lead into the fourth quarter.

Ava Patrick added 11 points for Keystone with Jillian Winters scoring eight.

Jenna Dunn scored 12 of her team-high 18 points in the fourth quarter for C-L.

                                      

KK Sebastian-Sims and Lexi Coull each added 11 points for the Lady Lions.

NORTH CLARION 52, A-C VALLEY 19

FOXBURG, Pa. – Rolling out to a 34-9 halftime lead, North Clarion cruised to a 52-19 win over A-C Valley to secure its eighth consecutive KSAC divisional title.

The KSAC Small School champions for the third straight season, the She-Wolves also won five consecutive KSAC North championships dating back to the 2015-16 season. They are a combined 65-2 in games that count toward divisional records in that span. (See full District 9 girls standings here)

Ten different North Clarion players scored in the win led by 10 points from Maria Bauer.

                          

Brooke Steinman added eight points, Lily Homan had seven points, and Madison McFarland chipped in six to help the She-Wolves move to 18-1 on the year and 7-0 in league play.

Makenzie Parks had a game-high 15 points, including 11 in the second half, for A-C Valley.

MONITEAU 69, CRANBERRY 37

SENECA, Pa. -A balanced attack helped visiting Moniteau knock off Cranberry, 69-37, in KSAC Large School action.

Four Lady Warriors reached double figures in the game led by 13 points from Catherine Kelly who also added five assists.

Kendall Sankey contributed 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals in the victory with Abbey Jewart and Davina Pry each scoring 11 points.

Jewart also had five assists, and Pry added eight rebounds. Sophia Fleeger just missed double digits with eight points while also contributing three assists for Moniteau.

Kendall Findlay paced Moniteau with 11 points with Mariah Wessell adding eight points.

REDBANK VALLEY 55, KARNS CITY 27

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Using a 20-4 run that started in the second quarter and went into the third quarter, Redbank Valley pulled away from visiting Karns City for a 55-27 win in KSAC Large School action.

                                   

The Lady Bulldogs led by just two, 12-10, about a third of the way through the second quarter but quickly used a 13-2 run to take a 25-14 halftime lead.

That run continued into the third quarter with Redbank Valley getting the advantage to 18, 32-14.

Alivia Huffman led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 points, Adyson Bond added 13 points while hitting three 3-pointers, Mylee Harmon chipped in 11 points, and Brooklyn Edmonds had seven points.

Brooklyn Taylor led a shorthanded Karns City squad with 12 points.

HUNTINGDON 51, CLEARFIELD 44

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Lily Fiscus and Lily Barger helped Huntingdon rally from a four-point deficit going to the fourth quarter to pick up a 51-44 home Mountain League win over Clearfield.

The Bearcats trailed 34-30 going to the final eight minutes but go 11 points from Fiscus and six from Barger to outscore the Lady Bison 21-10 in the frame.

Fiscus led all scorers with 23 points with Barger adding 14.

Hannah Glunt had 13 points for Clearfield with Cayleigh Walker adding 11 and Riley Ryen nine.

WILLIAMSBURG 79, CURWENSVILLE 16

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Ayla Hileman led a foursome of Williamsburg players in double digits with 17 points, as the Blue Pirates picked up a 79-16 ICC win at Curwensville.

Kendel Norris added 14 points for Williamsburg with Jayla Woodruff chipping in 12 points and Jade Carper 10 points.

Karleigh Freyer paced Curwensville with eight points with Sjylar Pentz adding six tallies.

BOYS

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 43, JOHNSONBURG 30

                                  

DUBOIS, Pa. – Using a 15-4 second-quarter run, DuBois Central Catholic overcame an early deficit and kept its AML playoff hopes alive with a 43-30 win over visiting Johnsonburg in AML crossover action.

The Cardinals, who vaulted back into a second-place tie with St. Marys (the Dutch hold the tiebreaker) and are now a ½ game back of first-place Ridgway with two teams making the AML postseason, trailed 13-5 at the end of eight minutes. (See full District 9 boys standings)

But Dylan Hanna and Andrew Green each hit a 3-pointer in the second quarter, and Marek Hoyt scored four points in the frame to help DCC take a 20-17 halftime lead.

The Cardinals then expanded the lead to 30-21 by the end of the third quarter with Luke Swisher scoring eight of their 10 points in the quarter.

Swisher led all scorers with 17 points with Green adding 12 and Hoyt eight.

Isaiah Jackson had 12 points for Johnsonburg but was held to two in the second half.

CLEARFIELD 66, HOLLIDAYSBURG 50

HYDE, Pa. – Racing out to a 13-point lead at the end of the first quarter, Clearfield won for just the second time in its last six games thanks to a 66-50 home victory over Hollidaysburg in Mountain League action.

The Bison led 21-8 at the end of the first quarter and 34-22 at halftime.

Brazen Patrick and Morgen Billottte each scored 16 points to pace Clearfield with Billotte adding six rebounds and three assists.

Cole Miller added 11 points and eight rebounds for the Bison with Andon Grelick chipping in 12 points and three helpers.

Cole Walters had a game-high 23 points for Hollidaysburg with Brady Steiner adding 12.
