BASEBALL: Titusville Drops Two in Tennessee

LEBANON, Tenn. – A 13-run third inning propelled Wilson Central (TN) to a 17-6, 5-inning win over Titusville.

The Wildcats scored four in the first thanks to a double, single, and 2-run home run. Wilson Central tallied six hits, five walks, and took advantage of three errors to score its 13 runs in the third.

The Rockets got on the board in the fourth, then tallied five runs in the fifth.

Kameron Mong had two hits, including a double, and scored a run. Ethan Bair and Nate Stearns each had two RBI.

Mason Titus took the loss allowing 10 runs, nine earned, on eight hits with three walks in 2 ⅓ innings. Wyatt Obert allowed six runs, one earned, on one hit and three walks, while Kaden Currier allowed one earned run on three hits with a walk and a strikeout in 1 ⅔ innings.

   

                  

STEWARTS CREEK (TN) 14, TITUSVILLE 5, 5 INNINGS

SMYRNA, Tenn. – Stewarts Creek scored at least four runs in each of the first three innings on its way to a 14-5, 5-inning win over Titusville.

The Red Hawks plated four runs in the first, six in the second, and four more in the third. The Rockets scored all five of their runs in the third.

Kameron Mong got the Rockets’ scoring started with a 2-run triple. Brett Schmidt followed with an RBI single, and Nate Stearns hit a 2-run single later in the inning.

Schmidt, Stearns, and Hunter Obert each had two hits.

                          

Jaxon Covell took the loss allowing four earned runs on four hits with two walks and two strikeouts in one inning. Kaden Currier allowed four earned runs on two hits with three walks and three strikeouts in 2 ⅓ innings, while Jimmy Becker gave up six runs, two earned, on three hits with four walks in ⅔ inning.
