Saegertown, Cochranton, Wilmington, North East Break out the Lumber in Baseball Wins

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – A 10-run third inning lifted Saegertown to a 12-2, 6-inning win over Union City.

Blake Leslie was 1-for-2 with a run scored and three RBIs for the Panthers, while Wyatt Burchill and Blake Burchill both doubled and drove in a pair of runs

William Shaffer got the win, tossing three shutout innings, allowing two hits, striking out four and walking one.

Joey Wolf was 1-for-1 with an RBI for Union City.

                  

Aidan Shuman took the loss, allowing five runs on four hits and one walk in his one inning of work.

COCHRANTON 15, EISENHOWER 5, 6 innings

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Ben Field drove in a pair of runs as Cochranton beat Eisenhower, 15-5 in six innings.

Cochranton scored its 15 runs on just seven hits, taking advantage of eight Eisenhower errors and eight free passes issued by Knights’ pitching.

Walker Carroll scored four runs and was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks for the Cardinals, while Tim Deeter was 2-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored.

                          

Isaiah Long got the complete game win, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out six and walking three.

Camron Jakubczak had two hits and drove in a run for Eisenhower, while Cole Kellogg was 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI and Johnny Palmieri was 3-for-4 with a run scored.

Derek Childs took the loss, allowing five runs (three earned), giving up just one hit, striking out four and walking five.

WILMINGTON 19, JAMESTOWN 5, 5 innings

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Ben Miller was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and five RBIs to power Wilmington to a 19-5, 5-inning win over Jamestown.

               

Wilmington actually trailed 5-0 after the first inning, but scored six runs in the second, three in the third, eight in the fourth and two in the fifth while blanking the Muskies the rest of the way.

Rocky Serafino was 1-for-3 with three RBIs for the Greyhounds, while Brodie Dewberry was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs and Shane Book 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Shane Heller got the win in relief, allowing just one hit in four shutout innings, striking out three and walking two.

Connor Pressler drove in a pair of runs for Jamestown with a double.

Pressler also took the loss, allowing six runs in ⅔ of an inning.

NORTH EAST 14, CORRY 8

NORTH EAST, Pa. – Drew Aspden and Ian Seymour drove in three runs each as North East beat Corry, 14-8.

North East scored a combined 11 runs in the second and third innings to take an 11-6 lead after Corry scored five times in the second.

Tommy Owens was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, including a solo home run for the Grape Pickers, while Braydon Cornman was also 1-for-2 with an RBI.

            

Joel Shreve got the win, allowing one earned run in 1 ⅔ innings of relief work, allowing two hits and striking out three.

Jacob Gantz had a pair of RBIs for Corry, which had just four hits, but did take advantage of eight North East errors.

Lewis Hellyer took the loss for Corry, allowing five runs (all unearned) in 1 ⅓ innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out four.
MEADVILLE 10, CONNEAUT 5

LINESEVILLE, Pa. – Scoring eight runs in the first three innings, visiting Meadville beat Conneaut, 10-5.

Rocco Tartaglione was 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs to lead the Bulldogs.

Gavin White went 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored for Conneaut.

Angelo Feleppa got the win going four innings allowing one unearned run on three hits while striking out six.

FRANKLIN 7, NORTHWESTERN 1

ALBION, Pa. – Nate Fezell and Ethan Nightingale combined to throw a three-hitter to lead visiting Franklin past Northwestern, 7-1.

Nightingale started and went three innings allowing one run on a walk and a hit batter while striking out six.

Fezell got the win in relief going four scoreless innings allowing three hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out three.

Zach Boland was 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for the Knights, while XX Wilmer went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

Kaden Stout took the loss allowing six runs, five earned, on five hits and four walks while striking out three.

Gabe Hutchison was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Wildcats.

GREENVILLE 7, OIL CITY 2

OIL CITY, Pa. – A five-run seventh inning allowed visiting Greenville to break a two-all tie and pick up a 7-2 win over Oil City.

The Trojans led 2-0 after scoring twice in the top of the fourth before Oil City tied the game in the bottom of the sixth on back-to-back singles by Jacob Teeter and Rylend Geib with an error on the Teeter base hit allowing the first run to score.

But in the seventh, three Oil City errors and a hit batter opened the flood gates allowing Greenville to pick up the win.

After two of the errors made it 4-2, Brandon Stubert had a two-run double to break the game open and Bennett Hayne followed with an RBI single.

Stubert was 2-for-3 with the double, a walk, and two RBIs, while Noah Philson was 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs for the Trojans.

Soren Hedderick got the win in relief of Philson going two innings allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out two.

Philson was strong going five scoreless, hitless innings. He did walk three and hit one while striking out 10.

Casey Rybak took the loss in relief of Will McMahon allowing five unearned runs on five hits and a hit batter while striking out one in two innings of work.

McMahon went five innings giving up two earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out nine.

NESHANNOCK 6, LAKEVIEW 2

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – At Westminster College, Neshannock beat visiting Lakeview, 6-2, thanks in part to a three-run third inning.

Jonny Husband paced the Lakeview offense going 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Owen Dye took the loss going three innings allowing three runs, two earned, on a hit, three walks, and a hit batter.

MAPLEWOOD 5, ROCKY GROVE 4

GUYS MILLS, Pa. – A three-run fifth inning allowed Maplewood to overcome a 3-2 deficit and beat visiting Rocky Grove, 5-4.

A two-run single by Chase Koelle gave the Tigers the lead in the fifth before Elliott Beuchat was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it 5-3.

Koelle drove in three for Maplewood while going 2-for-3 while Jacob Woge was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Kylee Jordan got the win going four innings allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits and a walk while striking out three. Landyn Reynolds started and pitched three innings giving up two earned runs on three hits, a walk, and a hit batter. He struck out six.

Blake Goltare was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for Rocky Grove while Landon Jones went 2-for-3 with a run scored and Schiffer Anderson was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Trenton Rice took the loss going 4 ⅓ innings allowing five runs, four earned, on four hits, a walk, and four hit batter while striking out one.

MERCER 11, REYNOLDS 3

MERCER, Pa. – A six-run sixth inning allowed Mercer to break open a close game on its way to an 11-3 win over visiting Reynolds.

The Mustangs led 5-2 going to the bottom of the sixth before taking complete control of the game.

Ethan Christie had a big game at the dish for Mercer going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, a walk, two RBIs, and three runs scored.

Drake McFeely also drove in a pair of runs while going 1-for-3 with a walk, and Aedan Ryhal went 2-for-5 with two runs scored. Jayden Amos scored twice after drawing four walks.

Evan Julock got the win going three scoreless innings allowing three hits, a walk, and a hit batter. He struck out seven.

SHARPSVILLE 5, WEST MIDDLESEX 0

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. – Carter DeJulia tossed a no-hitter walking two and hitting a batter to lead Sharpsville to a 5-0 win over visiting West Middlesex.

DeJulia struck out 11.

DeJulia helped himself going 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored, while David Moyer was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Gabe Titus was also 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs.
