Soft: Sharon Wraps up R4 Title; Saegertown’s Obenrader hits 800 K’s, Harbor Creek Walks Off LeBoeuf Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

SHARON, Pa. – Maddy Vogan hit a 3-run home run and also struck out 16 in a 1-hit shutout as Sharon wrapped up the Region 4 title with a 5-0 win over Corry.

Vogan’s home run came in a scoreless game in the sixth inning. In the circle, she walked just two.

Lacey Root had an RBI double for Sharon, while Claire Bodien had a pair of hits.

Sadie Dyne had Corry’s lone hit, a double. Allison Sawyer took the loss, allowing five runs in 5 ⅓ innings on seven hits, striking out nine and walking two.

SAEGERTOWN 10, IROQUOIS 0

                  

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Saegertown’s Mikaila Obenrader reached the 800 career strikeout milestone as the Panthers beat Iroquois, 10-0 in six innings.

Obenrader also homered in the game for the Panthers and allowed just two hits in the circle.

Mila Gehrlein-Carpenter had both hits for Iroquois.

HARBOR CREEK 1, FORT LEBOEUF 0, 8 innings

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Talon King accounted for the lone run of the game with a walk off RBI single in the eighth inning, as Harbor Creek earned a 1-0 win over Fort LeBoeuf.

                          

King brought in Maggie Konieczki, who singled to start the inning.

Addison Lucas fired a 1-hitter for the Huskies, striking out 11 and walking four.

Kiernan Skelton was the tough-luck losing pitcher, allowing one run on eight hits in 7 ⅓ innings, striking out seven and walking two.

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 6, EISENHOWER 0

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Kayla Crawford struck out 17 in a 3-hit shutout as Cambridge Springs earned a 6-0 win over Eisenhower.

               

Crawford walked just one.

Crawford also got it done at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Also for the Blue Devils, Jaydan Simmons homered and drove in two runs.

Payton Frank had two of Eisenhower’s three hits. Frank also took the loss, allowing five earned runs in six innings on 11 hits.

CATHEDRAL PREP 15, MEADVILLE 1

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Mackenzie Moore, Emalie Thomas and Emily Dudenhoeffer all homered as Cathedral Prep beat Meadville, 15-1.

Dudenhoeffer had three hits and drove in five runs, while Moore had three hits and two RBIs and Payton Simmerman and Madison Simmerman drove in two runs each.

Madison Simmerman got the win with six strong innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out eight and walking one.

Kendall Mealy had two hits and Rylee Kregel drove in a run for Meadville.

UNION CITY 2, FAIRVIEW 1

            

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Cathryn Reynolds hit a 2-run single in the fifth inning as Union City edged Fairview, 2-1.

Alivia Sielinski had three hits for Union City. Kaegann Gregor got the win, allowing one run on six hits, striking out six.

Taylor Ginkel had an RBI double for Fairview. Jocelyn Terella took the loss, allowing one earned run on 10 hits, striking out one.

WILMINGTON 7, SHARPSVILLE 4

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Wilmington belted four home runs, including two by Karah Deal in a 7-4 win over Sharpsville.

Deal drove in five runs, while Mya Jewell and Skylar Leishman both hit solo shots.

Stella Maynard (3 ⅔ innings) and Ava Williamson (3 ⅓ innings) combined to allow three earned runs on eight hits, striking out seven.

University of Michigan commit Lily Palko hit a solo home run, doubled and drove in two runs for Sharpsville, while Jordan Brest was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Brest took the loss, allowing seven runs on 10 hits, striking out five.

WEST MIDDLESEX 3, MERCER 1

MERCER, Pa. – Kaylee Long tossed a complete game 7-hitter to help West Middlesex to a 3-1 win over Mercer.

Long struck out four and walked one.

Emily Dick had two of West Middlesex’s three hits.

Angelina Eakman was stellar in defeat for Mercer, striking out 19 over 6 ⅔ innings, allowing three hits and walking seven. Eakman also had an RBI double.

SLIPPERY ROCK 6, HICKORY 4
HICKORY 10, SLIPPERY ROCK 3

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Slippery Rock and Hickory split a doubleheader, with Slippery Rock winning Game 1, 6-4, and Hickory taking Game 2, 10-3.

In the Game 1 win for Slippery Rock, Ciana D’Antoni was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Lyla Runtas and Lillian Campbell had two hits each.

Mia Sosa got the complete game win, allowing two earned runs on six hits.

Hallie Miller hit a solo home run for Hickory. Lydia Hallas took the loss, allowing two runs on one hit in two innings, striking out two and walking one.

Miller homered again and drove in two runs for Hickory in their Game 2 win, while Layla McClung hit a solo homer, Madeline Myers was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Jordyn Hanzelka had four hits and an RBI.

Miller got the complete game win, allowing two earned runs on seven hits, striking out six.

Runtas and Savannah Smith had two hits each for Slippery Rock.

FRANKLIN 15, OIL CITY 0, 4 innings

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Abigail Boland was 3-for-3 with a home run, two doubles and four RBIs as Franklin beat Oil City, 15-0 in four innings.

Alyssa and Leaha Rial drove in two runs each for Franklin, while Rilee Hanna was 3-for-4with an RBI and two runs scored.

Jersey Swartz got the win, allowing three hits and striking out four.

MCDOWELL 18, GENERAL MCLANE 3

EDINBORO, Pa. – Gabby DeLuca finished a single shy of the cycle as McDowell beat General McLane, 18-3.

DeLuca drove in four runs, while Chloe Shattuck also homered, doubled and drove in four runs. Also for the Trojans, Gracie Miller drove in three runs and Izzy Nagelli two.

Maddy Matlock got the win, allowing one earned run in seven innings on seven hits, striking out five.

Korryn Kinder and Sydney Clark had two hits each for GM.

CONNEAUT 10, GROVE CITY 2

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Kylie Shrock and Lainie Harrington both homered as Conneaut powered past Grove City, 10-2.

Shrock drove in two runs on three hits, while BreAnne Dendis had two hits and four RBIs for CASH, Jillian Mihoci was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Jaidyn Jordan 2-for-3 with two runs.

Shrock got the win, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out 10.

Lexi Murphy hit a 2-run homer for Grove City.

COCHRANTON 14, YOUNGSVILLE 0, 5 innings

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Peyton Miller was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Claire McCartney hit a solo home run in Cochranton’s 14-0, 5-inning win over Youngsville.

Brooklyn Needler allowed just two hits in five innings to get the win, striking out five and walking one.

Dani Hoffman and Addi Custead had two hits and two RBIs each for the Cardinals.

Madison Carnahan took the loss for Youngsville, allowing eight earned runs in four innings on 12 hits, striking out six.
