Base: Fultz Jr. Powers Prep to Win Over Rival McDowell; Wilmington Rallies Past Greenville Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

ERIE, Pa. – Jason Fultz Jr. dazzled on both the mound and at the plate in Cathedral Prep’s 5-1 win over rival McDowell.

The Clemson commit went 6 ⅔ innings, allowing just one run on two hits, striking out 15 and walking four. Carson Phillips came on and got a strikeout for the final out after Fultz Jr. was lifted for reaching the pitch count limit.

Fultz Jr. also hit a solo home run in the win. Also for the Ramblers, Jacob Koshan was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, while Andrew Costello and Dan Oblich drove in one run each.

Connor Cross drove in McDowell’s lone run of the game. Nick Hamilton took the loss, allowing three runs in five innings on three hits, striking out five and walking three.

WILMINGTON 9, GREENVILLE 8

                  

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Trailing 8-7, Brodie Dewberry’s 2-run single in the sixth inning propelled Wilmington to a 9-8 win over Greenville.

This came after Greenville came storming back from a 7-2 deficit, scoring six runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead.

Greenville loaded the bases in the seventh, but Hunter Jones was able to get a groundout to end the game.

Rocky Serafino was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for Wilmington, while Ben Miller was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs and Tyler Mikulin 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Jones went 1 ⅓ innings of relief to get the win, striking out two and allowing one hit and one walk.

Noah Philson and Jackson Leskovac drove in two runs each for Greenville, while Jack Strausser, Braden Stubert, Jacob Csonka and Justin Schell drove in one run each.

                          

Strausser took the loss, allowing four runs in 3 ⅓ innings on three hits, striking out four and walking three.

WEST MIDDLESEX 3, COCHRANTON 1

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Logan Kent fired a complete game 8-hitter as West Middlesex edged Cochranton, 3-1.

Kent’s lone run was unearned. He struck out four and walked two.

Roman Golub was 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Big Reds, while Evan Gilson was 1-for-2 with a pair of RBIs.

               

Coleton Mattocks took the loss, allowing two runs on six hits in four innings, striking out three and walking three. Isaiah Long had three hits for the Cardinals.

WARREN 10, ERIE 8

ERIE, Pa. – Warren scored six runs in the fourth inning and three more in the fifth in a 10-8 win over Erie.

Brady Berdine led the 14-hit attack for the Dragons, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs, while Tage Wyman was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Aidan Zdarko 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, Elijah Snyder 2-for-3 with an RBI, Eric Dippold 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs and Colin Zdarko 2-for-4 with two runs.

Aidan Zdarko got the win, allowing six runs in three innings, striking out two and walking six. Konnor Hoffman went four innings and allowed two runs on three hits, striking out four and walking one.

RJ Hawkins was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Erie.

MERCYHURST PREP 9, HARBOR CREEK 2

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Brady Coleman was 3-for-4 with two RBIs as Mercyhurst Prep picked up a big 9-2 win over Harbor Creek.

The Lakers scored in every inning but the second en route to the win. Evan Spagel was also 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Lakers.

            

Brady Rice got the win, going 5 ⅔ innings and allowing one run on two hits, striking out six and walking four.

Tobias Vahey was 1-for-3 with an RBI for the Huskies. Heath Betza took the loss, allowing six runs in 4 ⅓ innings, striking out four and walking four.

MEADVILLE 12, FORT LEBOEUF 5

WATERFORD, Pa. – Bradyn Miller was 4-for-4 with three RBIs as Meadville picked up a 12-5 win over Fort LeBoeuf.

Henry Desantis-Biggs was 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Meadville, while Ian Miller drove in a pair of runs and Jacoby Thompson was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run.

A.J. Feleppa got the win, allowing one unearned run in 3 ⅓ innings. He didn’t allow a hit or a walk and struck out five.

Ethan Billey was 1-for-2 with three RBIs for LeBoeuf.
