Base: Neiswender Single in 6th Lifts Curwensville to Important Win; Karns City Scores Three in Ninth to Top Redbank Valley; O’Neill Bounces Back in ECC Win powered by N. Washington Rodeo

CURWENSVILLE, PA. – Lawson Neiswender’s RBI single in the sixth inning broke a 3-all tie, and Curwensville went on to beat visiting Williamsburg, 5-3.

Gavin McDermott singled leading off the sixth before a walk moved him to second and Neiswender brought him home.

Merek Sutika scored twice for the Golden Tide while Cael Butler drove in a pair of runs.

McDermott got the win in relief of Neiswender throwing a scoreless sixth. He gave up a hit and a walk and struck out one.

                  

Andrew Pentz got the save going one inning striking out one.

Neiswender pitched five innings allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits and three walks.

Rowan Gorsuch was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Williamsburg.

Preston Long took the loss going four innings allowing two earned runs on two hits and three walks while striking out six.

The victory should seal up a playoff berth for the Golden Tide.

                          

KARNS CITY 9, REDBANK VALLEY 6, 9 INNINGS

FAIRMOUNT CITY, Pa. – Jacob Jones’ two-run single in the top of the ninth broke a 6-all tie, and Karns City added another run on an error in a 9-6 win over Redbank Valley.

The game had been tied at six since the sixth, an inning that saw Redbank Valley score three runs to tie the game.

Hobie Bartoe had a big day at the plate for the Gremlins, who have won four in a row, going 4-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Adam Manuel also had a four-hit day for Karns City going 4-for-5 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs, while Jones was 1-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

               

Jones got the win in relief of Manuel going three scoreless innings allowing a hit while striking out two.

Manuel went six innings allowing six earned runs on 12 hits and a walk while striking out two.

Braylon Wagner had a big day at the dish for Redbank Valley hitting a home run and a double while going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and five RBIs.

Mason Clouse was also 3-for-5 with two runs scored for the Bulldogs.

Ty Carrier took the loss in relief of Jaxon Huffman. He went five innings allowing five runs, four earned, on eight hits while striking out three.

Huffman went four innings giving up four earned runs on four hits, two walks, and a hit batter. He struck out two.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 7, BRADFORD 2

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Lance O’Neill, who didn’t get an out on Monday in a loss to Brockway giving up three runs while throwing 18 pitches, bounced back with a strong five-inning performance Tuesday in a 7-2 win over visiting Bradford at Berwind Park in St. Marys.

O’Neill allowed one earned run on four hits, two walks, and a hit batter. He struck out four while tossing 71 pitches.

            

Matt Gilmore pitched the final two innings allowing an unearned run on three hits while striking out three.

O’Neill and Wyatt Brem each drove in two runs for the Crusaders, while Colby Nussbaum was 1-for-4 with a double and two runs scored.

Gilmore also went 1-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Brady Leathers was 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI.

Evan Whitmore was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Bradford.

Anthony Lama took the loss going four innings allowing six runs, four earned, on five hits, two walks, and a hit batter.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 8, BROOKVILLE 3

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Combing to score seven runs in the third and fourth innings, visiting Clarion-Limestone topped Brookville, 8-3, at McKinley Field in Brookville.

The Lions led 1-0 before scoring four times in the third then added three more in the fourth to take an 8-2 lead.

Logan Lutz, Tommy Smith, and Brayden Murray each had two hits for the Lions.

Lutz was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and three runs scored, Smith was 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, and two runs scored, and Murray was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Smith got the win going five innings allowing two earned runs on three hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out three.

Paul Craig finished off going two innings allowing an unearned run on a hit and a walk while striking out two.

Pierson Ruhlman was 2-for-3 with a double for Brookville while Sergio Sotillo was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

Easton Belfiore took the loss going three innings allowing five earned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out one.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 7, PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA 2

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Another solid start from Parker Stahlman lifted Punxsutawney to a 7-2 win over visiting Philipsburg-Osceola.

Stahlman tossed a complete-game four-hitter allowing two earned runs. He walked one and struck out three.

Maddox Hetrick and Coy Martio did the heavy lifting on offense each driving in a pair of runs.

Hetrick was 1-for-3 with a walk while Martino was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a run scored.

Archer Baughman hit a solo home run for Philipsburg-Osceola.

Baughman took the loss going four innings allowing seven runs, two earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out three.

PORT ALLEGANY 11, OSWAYO VALLEY 3

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – A seven-run sixth inning allowed Port Allegany to break a 3-all tie on its way to an 11-3 win at Oswayo Valley.

The Gators sent 13 men to the plate in the sixth using a double, three singles, three walks, and three Green Wave errors to score the seven runs.

Tyler Filhart broke the tie with a single to center that scored Aiden Bliss, who had led off the inning with a double.

Filhart was 1-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Nick Wilfong drove in three runs for Port Allegany going 1-for-5 with a run scored, while Kellen Veilleux was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Levi Howard added a double while going 2-for-3 with a walk.

Jacob Causer got the win going six innings allowing three runs, two earned, on six hits and a hit batter while striking out nine.

Ethan Hackman was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs for Oswayo Valley

Nik Bonney took the loss going 5 ⅓ innings allowing six runs, five earned, on five hits, two walks, and a hit batter. He struck out four.

A-C VALLEY/UNION SWEEPS FOREST AREA

TIONESTA, Pa. – A-C Valley/Union swept a doubleheader at Forest Area winning Game oNe 12-0 in five innings and Game Two 15-0 in three innings.

Adrian Schmoll and Caden Burns each drove in a pair of runs in the first game with Schmoll going 1-for-3 with a double and Burns going 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Chase Ruth and Sebastian Link also both doubled for the Falcon Knights with Ruth going 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI and Link going 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Trey Fleming added a 1-for-3 day at the plate with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Link tossed a five-inning one-hit shutout. He struck out 13 while throwing 43 of his 52 pitches for strikes.

Colton Kuntz had the lone hit for Forest Area.

Nathan Dietrich took the loss going three innings allowing 11 runs, eight earned, on seven hits, five walks, and a hit batter. He struck out two.

In the second game, an 11-run first inning spurred A-C Valley/Union to the three-inning victory.

Fleming was 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs while Link was 1-for-1 with a double, a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Burns and Carter McGarvey each scored twice with McGarvey going 1-for-1 with a walk. Ryan Armaagost contributed at the plate going 1-for-2 with a a run scored and an RBI.

Fleming got the win going two innings allowing one hit while striking out three. Burns pitched a scoreless inning striking out two.

Warren Dashner had the lone hit for Forest Area.

Dashner took the loss going a ⅓ of an inning allowing seven runs, one earned, on three hits and two walks while striking out one.
