Base: DCC/Brookville Split DH; Moniteau Rolls Past Keystone; BEA too Much for DuBois Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

DUBOIS, Pa. – DuBois Central Catholic and Brookville split a doubleheader at Stern Field in DuBois Saturday with DCC winning 3-2 in the opener on a walk-off walk and Brookville taking home a 14-11 win in Game Two after scoring four times in the bottom of the sixth.

In Game One, the game was tied at two after each team scored two runs in the third until the bottom of the seventh when DCC won the game when Sergio Sotillo walked Trenton Miller with the bases loaded and two outs forcing home Carter Himes.

Himes had started the inning with a single and went to second on a Bradyen Fox single before reaching third on an Aiden Snowberger flyout.

After an intentional walk loaded the bases, Andrew Green struck out but Miller walked on four pitches.

Blake Pisarcik hit a game-tying two-run home run in the third for DCC and was 1-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs, and a run scored.

   

                  

Ladd Blake was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Brookville.

Snowberger got the win in relief of Fox going four innings allowing two hits while striking out eight.

Fox went the first three giving up two unearned runs on a hit and two walks while striking out two.

Sotillo took the loss in relief of Sam Krug going 1 ⅓ innings allowing a run on two hits and two walks while striking out one. Krug pitched 5 ⅓ inning giving up two earned runs on two hit, two hit batters, and four walks while striking out six.

As much as Game One was about pitching, Game Two was about offense.

                          

DCC led 7-0 after 2 ½ innings before Brookville scored six in the bottom of the third, one in the fourth, and three more in the fifth to take a 10-7 lead.

The Cardinals answered with a four-spot in the top of the sixth taking an 11-10 lead on a Fox single.

But Brookville answered with four of its own in the bottom of the inning tying the game on a Pierson Ruhlman single before Kai Kaltenbach drove in the eventual winning run with a two-run base hit.

Kaltenbach was 2-for-3 with four RBIs to lead Brookville while Landen Marrara was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, a run scored, and two RBIs.

               

Also for the Raiders, Owen Fleming scored three times while going 1-for-2 with a walk, Sotillo was 2-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI, and Carter Kessler was 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored. Ruhlman also drove in two while going 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored, and Jack Pete was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Green was 4-for-5 with a pair of RBIs for DCC while Fox went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs. ‘

Himes and Snowberger each drove in a pair of runs as well for the Cardinals with Himes going 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored and Snowberger going 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored.

Ruhlman got the win going two innings allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits and a walk.

Sotillo pitched a scoreless inning striking out one, and Fleming was charged with seven runs, four earned, on seven hits, five walks, and a hit batter. He struck out six in four innings of work.

Pisarcik took the loss in relief of Himes going 1 ⅔ innings allowing seven runs, six earned, on six hits, three walks, and a hit batter. He struck out one. Himes went four innings giving up seven runs, two earned, on five hits and three walks while striking out five. Green struck out one in a ⅓ of an inning.

MONITEAU 17, KEYSTONE 0, 5 INNINGS

BUTLER, Pa. – Acting as the visiting team at Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park in Butler, Moniteau scored 12 runs in its final two at-bats on its way to a 17-0 win over Keystone, who was playing its first game of the season.

Keagan Book had three doubles while going 3-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and three RBIs to lead the way for the Warriors.

Book was part of a 15-hit attack for Moniteau that included seven doubles.

            

Ian Ross added a pair of doubles while going 2-for-3 with a run scored and four RBIs, and James Gillen and Landon Kelly each added a two-base hit.

Gillen was 1-for-4 with a run scored and Kelly was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Also for the Warriors, Dawson Wallace went 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored, and Connor Ealy was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Alex James also contributed in the win by going 2-of-r4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Beau Stewart tossed a four-hit shutout for Moniteau. He walked one and hit one while striking out four in five innings of work.

Chaz Reinninger was 2-for-3 for Keystone.

Dree Keth suffered the loss allowing nine runs, seven earned, on 10 hits while striking out four in 3 ⅓ innings. Renninger was tagged with eight runs, seven earned, on four hits and four walks while striking out one in ⅔ of an inning.

BALD EAGLE AREA 13, DUBOIS 3, 5 INNINGS

WINGATE, Pa. – Scoring six times in the fifth inning to end the game on the 10-run Mercy Rule, Bald Eagle Area pulled away from DuBois for a 13-3 victory.

The Bald Eagles, the defending PIAA Class 2A champions, led 6-0 after two innings but DuBois fought back and closed the gap to 7-3 after scoring a run in the top of the fifth.

Kahale Burns came a single away from the cycle for Bald Eagle going 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He drove in three and scored twice.

Tayten Yoder also went deep for the Bald Eagles and was 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs, while Connor Perry was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, and Gavin Burns was 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, and RBI, and three runs scored.

Yoder got the win going five innings allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits, a walk, and a hit batter. He struck out nine.

Ricky Clark hit a home run for DuBois and was 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Tyler Chamberlin went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI for the Beavers and Talon Hodge was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Chamberlain took the loss allowing six runs, five earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out three in two innings on the mound. Tycen Roy was tagged with seven runs, three earned, in 2 ⅔ innings.
