CLEARFIELD 6, BALD EAGLE AREA 5, 9 INNINGS

HYDE, Pa. – Alaina Fedder hit a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth, as Clearfield beat Bald Eagle Area, 6-5.

After BEA scored a run in the top of the ninth to take a 5-4 lead, Olivia Bender opened the bottom of the ninth with a double to center before Fedder took a 1-2 pitch over the left-field fence for the game-winning home run.

It was the second time in the contest Clearfield rallied in its final at-bat.

   

                  

After falling behind 4-3 when Bald Eagle scored a run in the top of the seventh, the Lady Bison forced extra innings when Emma Hipps singled with one out and came around to score.

Hipps was 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored to lead the Clearfield offense with Bender going 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a run scored. Kylee Hertlein was also 2-for-4.

Lauren Ressler was also 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs and broke the school record for career doubles with her 25th, and Ruby Singleton went 2-for-5 with a run scored.

Autumn Tobia was 3-for-5 with a home run, a run scored, and three RBIs for Bald Eagle Area with Katelyn Smitchko going 2-for-4 with a run scored and Madison Perry 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Hipps was the winning pitcher going nine innings allowing five earned runs on 11 hits and five walks while striking out 18. It was her second straight 18-strikeout game.

                          

Sierra Albright took the loss going eight-plus innings allowing six runs, four earned, on 10 hits and two walks while striking out 10.

KEYSTONE 10, CLARION 3

CLARION, Pa. – A seven-run eighth inning lifted visiting Keystone to a 10-3 extra-inning win over Clarion at Paul A. Weaver Park in Clarion.

Emma Gruber started the rally with a lead-off walk, and Cassidy Morris reached on a fielder’s choice with Gruber going to third. A ground out by Gabby Wolbert then put Keystone in the lead for the first time in the game before Leah Exley’s ground ball to second with the bases loaded resulted in an error making it 5-3.

               

That opened the flood gates with singles by Bella Black, Gruber, and Morris as well as a fielder’s choice by Rylie Colligan all scoring runs.

Just to get to extra innings, Keystone had to rally from a 3-1 deficit going to the sixth which it did by scoring a run in the sixth and then tying the game in the seventh when Natalie Bowser singled leading off followed by an Exley double and an RBI ground out by Black.

Clarion had a chance to win the game in the bottom of the seventh when Hadlee Campbell tripled with one out, but Bri Forrest’s suicide bunt attempt turned into an out at the plate when Exley fired home to catcher Black for the out. Forrest was later thrown out at third trying to go first to third on a ball hit by Emily Troese to end the inning.

Bowser was 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored for Keystone with Black and Morris each adding a pair of RBIs while both going 1-for-5 with a run scored.

Colligan was also 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored in the win, Gruber was 1-for-2 with three walks, an RBI, and two runs scored, and Exley was 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.

Exley got the win going eight innings allowing three runs, one earned, on five hits, two walks, and a hit batter while striking out five.

Noel Anthony was 3-for-4 with a walk and a run scored for Clarion. Troese was 2-for-4, and Payton Simko hit a home run while going 1-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Simko took the loss going 7 ⅔ innings allowing 10 runs, four earned, on nine hits and eight walks while striking out 10. Anthony pitched a ⅓ of an innings allowing two hits while striking out one.

ST. MARYS 9, DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 2

DUBOIS, Pa. – Kendall Young and Danielle Rolley hit home runs to lead visiting St. Marys to a 9-2 win over DuBois Central Catholic at the DCC softball field.

            

Young added a double while going 3-for-4 with a run scored and four RBIs. She was also the winning pitcher allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out 11 in seven innings.

Olivia Eckels was also 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and three runs scored for St. Marys with Kara Hanslova going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Rosa Deprater added a 2-for-4 day with two runs scored.

Madi Hoyt was 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored for DCC with Lauren Davidson going 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Morgan Tyler was the losing pitcher going seven innings allowing nine runs, all earned, on 15 hits while striking out eight.

BROCKWAY 15, BRADFORD 11

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Brockway used an 11-run third inning to beat Bradford, 15-11.

Lillian Heilbrun drove in five runs for the Lady Rovers while going 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored.

Taylor was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs in the victory with Kalina Powell going 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs, and Danielle Wood finishing 2-for-4 with a triple, a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Alana Benson was 2-for-4 with a double and three runs scored to pace Bradford with Kalie Dixon going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Carli Persichini was also 1-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Gabby Hertel got the win allowing 11 runs, just two earned, on eight hits while striking out three.

Dixon took the loss going six innings allowing 11 runs, four earned, on eight hits, a hit batter, and three walks while striking out 11. Maddie Dougherty allowed four runs on two walks and two hit batters while not retiring a batter.

OSWAYO VALLEY 7, GALETON 4

GALETON, Pa. – Brooke George went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple, two runs scored, and three RBIs to help Oswayo Valley to a 7-4 win over Galeton.

Shayden Mesler was also 3-for-4 with a run scored the Green Wave with Charlotte Austin-Keech going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Oliva Rohrbaugh went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for Galeton with Macey Crowell going 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, and Lauren Sauley 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

MacKenzie Mesler got the win going seven innings allowing four earned runs on 10 hits while striking out seven.

Mikayla Schott took the loss going seven innings allowing seven earned runs on 10 hits and seven walks while striking out 10.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 11, REDBANK VALLEY 3

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Frances Milliron and Abby Himes each drove in four runs to help Clarion-Limestone to an 11-3 win over visiting Redbank Valley.

Milliron was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored, and Himes was 3-for-4 with two triples, a double, and a run scored.

Kendall Dunn was also 2-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored for the Lady Lions while Abby Knapp went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Carlie Rupp went 1-fro-3 with two RBIs for Redbank Valley.

Regan Husted got the win going five innings allowing three runs, one earned, on four hits with a strikeout. Jenna Dunn pitched two scoreless innings striking out five.

Mackenzie Foringer took the loss going six innings allowing 11 runs, 10 earned, on 14 hits and a hit batter while striking out seven.

KARNS CITY 16, CRANBERRY 6, 6 INNINGS

SENECA, Pa. – Scoring 11 runs in its final two at-bats, Karns City beat homestanding Cranberry, 16-6, in six innings.

Ashley Fox drove in five runs for the Lady Gremlins going 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, and four runs scored with Jada Polczynski was 4-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and four runs scored.

Zoe King also had three RBIs going 1-for-2 with two walks and a run scored, while Marra Patton was 3-for-5 with two RBIs, and Megan Whitmire was 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored.

Also for Karns City, Sarah Patton was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.

Cassandra Scarbrough was 2-for-2 with a double, a walk, and three runs scored for Cranberry with Lexi Reisinger going 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Keelie Schneider going 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Kendall Findlay was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

Marra Patton pitched two innings allowing one earned run on four hits and a walk while striking out one. Allison Walker started and went three innings allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits while striking out one. Rossi McMillen threw one inning allowing two earned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out one.

Reyna Watson took the loss throwing ⅔ of an inning allowing two earned runs on three hits and a walk. Alisha Beggs started going 2 ⅔ innings allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits and two walks. Alaina Hogue pitched two innings allowing 11 runs, eight earned, on 12 hits and a walk. McKaylah Smith pitched ⅔ of an inning scoreless allowing one hit while striking out one.

FOREST AREA 17, UNION 2, 4 INNINGS

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Emily Aites and Faith Dietrich both hit home runs and Madison McFarland and Akeela Greenawalt each had three hits with Greenawalt driving in six runs in a 17-2, four-inning win for visiting Forest Area over Union.

Aites was 1-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs, Dietrich was 1-for-3 with a run scored, and two RBIs, McFarland was 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and four runs scored, and Greenawalt was 3-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored.

Alexis Oswald also went 1-for-4 with a double and two runs scored for the Fires.

Izabelle Flick got the win throwing three innings of one-hit ball allowing two earned runs. She walked two and struck out eight. Oswald pitched a scoreless inning allowing a walk and a hit batter while striking out two.

Mackenna Davis was 2-fro-2 with a home run, a run scored, and two RBIs for Union.

Magen Walzak took the loss going four innings allowing 17 runs, 13 earned, on 14 hits, five walks, and a hit batter while striking out five.

OIL CITY 18, A-C VALLEY 14

WEST FREEDOM, Pa. – Maddie Wenner and Payton Burk each drove in three runs to lift Oil City to an 18-14 slugfest win at A-C Valley.

Wenner was 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored, and Burk was 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored.

Also for the Oilers, Nyssa Hanlon went 2-for-4 with two walks, two RBIs, and four runs scored, and Shaylyn Whittemore was 3-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, and four runs scored.

Avah Burke was 3-for-4 with two home runs (one inside-the-park) with four runs scored and four RBIs to pace A-C Valley. Lexi Bauer was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI, Rylan Strauser was 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs, and Mackenzie Parks was 4-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored.

Whittemore got the win going five innings allowing 10 runs, seven earned. She walked three and hit two while striking out two. Hanlong went two innings allowing four runs, three earned. She walked one and struck out two.

Strauser took the loss going one innings allowing six runs, four earned. He struck out one. Shaina Whitmer pitched 2 ⅓ innings allowing seven runs, five earned. She walked four and struck out two. Parks pitched 3 ⅔ innings allowing five runs, two earned. She walked three and struck out four.

GLENDALE 9, CURWENSVILLE 0

FLINTON, Pa. – Hannah Noel threw a no-hitter to lead Glendale to a 9-0 win over visiting Curwensville.

Noel walked one and struck out 10.

Riley Best and Madison Peterson hit home runs for the Vikings.

Best was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI with Peterson going 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Also for Glendale, Kaprice Cavalet went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Joselyn Freyer took the loss allowing nine runs, three earned, on eight hits, two walks, and two hit batters while striking out nine.

COWANESQUE VALLEY 16, COUDERSPORT 0, 3 INNINGS

WESTFIELD, Pa. – An 11-run first inning helped Cowanesque Valley to a 16-0, three-inning win over visiting Coudersport.

Madison Hoopes from Northern Potter (playing in a co-op) went 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored, and four RBIs.

Logan Hamilton went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI in the win with Ashley Woodring going 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs and NoPo’s Megan Hyde going 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

Madyson Dubots-Angood had a double for Coudersport.

Hyde got the win going two innings allowing two hits and two walks while striking out three. Ruby Sherman pitched a scoreless inning allowing a hit and striking out the side.

Savannah Myers took the loss going one innings allowing 11 runs, eight earned, on 11 hits and a walk. Ryelle Black pitched one inning giving up five runs, two earned, on five walks. She didn’t allow a hit and struck out one.
