SLIPPERY ROCK 13, WILMINGTON 7

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Walker Vogan’s second home run of the sixth inning, a grand slam, capped an eight-run sixth frame and helped lift Slippery Rock to a 13-7 win over Titusville.

Vogan finished his brilliant afternoon 2-for-2 with five RBIs and three runs. The Rockets scored eight runs in the sixth. Shane Thompson was 1-for-2 with four RBIs. Ethan Drushel was also 1-for-2 with two RBIs.

Brett Galcik was credited with the win, allowing four unearned runs in four innings, striking out three, and allowing three hits without issuing a walk.

   

                  

Tyler Mikulin was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Wilmington, which took advantage of seven Slippery Rock errors.

Hunter Jones took the loss, allowing seven runs (two earned) in 1 ⅔ innings.

HICKORY 18, OIL CITY 16

OIL CITY, Pa. – Joey Fazzone and Clay Wiesen both homered twice as Hickory stayed unbeaten in an 18-16 slugfest.

The Hornets took an 18-11 going into the bottom of the seventh and had to withstand an Oil City rally, as Charlie Motter belted a three-run home run and Jacob Teeter launched a two-run blast before the Hornets closed it out.

                          

Oil City led 6-2 after the first inning, but Hickory scored five runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth.

On a day full of offense, Fazzone led the way, going 3-for-5 and finishing with eight RBIs, while Wiesen was 2-for-5 with three RBIs and three runs. Tyson Djakovich was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs and Johnny Leedham was 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs.

Fazzone was credited with the win, allowing six runs in four innings.

Teeter led Oil City, going 3-for-6 with four RBIs and four runs, while Conner Lockhart was 3-for-5 with three RBIs, Motter 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Mike McFarland 2-for-3 with an RBI and three walks.

               

Will McMahon took the loss for Oil City, allowing two unearned runs in 1 ⅓ innings.

ERIE 2, WARREN 0

ERIE, Pa. – Jose Quinones and Erie edged Brady Berdine and Warren 2-0 in a classic pitchers duel.

Quinones fired a two-hit shutout, striking out 11 and walking just two. He needed just 81 pitches to complete his masterpiece.

Berdine also allowed just two hits and two unearned runs. He struck out six and walked two.

The Royals scored single runs in the first, scoring on an error in the first and an RBI single off the bat of Kevin Fuentes.

Owen Blum singled and recorded two walks for Warren

FAIRVIEW 10, SENECA 0, 5 innings

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Aiden Rubliotta and Eddie Dolansky both homered as Fairview earned a 10-0, 5-inning win over Seneca.

Rubliotta finished 1-for-3 with three RBIs, while Dolansky was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Colin Bolla was also 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Tigers.

            

Logan Fiolek got the win, firing a three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and no walks allowed.

Lucas Rupp took the loss, allowing nine runs in 3 ⅔ innings.

CONNEAUT (OHIO) 18, REYNOLDS 2,, 5 innings

TRANSFER, Pa. – Alex Kennedy went 2-for-3 with a double, triple, and five RBIs as Conneaut (Ohio) powered past Reynolds, 18-2 in five innings.

The Spartans scored eight runs in both the third and fifth innings. Also leading the offensive outburst were Patrick Kantola, who was 4-for-4 with three RBIs, and Bryce Spurlin, who finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Zach Rice also had three hits and scored three runs.

J.R. Hutchinson picked up the win, tossing four innings and allowing just one unearned run, striking out four and walking one on two hits.

Hayden Calenda suffered the loss, allowing 15 runs in four innings.

TITUSVILLE 3, GIRARD 2

GIRARD, Pa. – Jaxon Covell’s sixth-inning RBI single broke a 2-2 tie and lifted Titusville to a 3-2 win over Girard.

Titusville scored two runs in the first inning, but Girard tied the game in the fourth on Tanner Tramontano’s RBI single.

Tyler Durstine got the win, tossing three hitless innings of relief, walking one, and striking out four.

Offensively for Titusville, Hunter Thomas was 2-for-3 with a run, while Kameron Mong also drove in a run.

Will Luxon took the loss, allowing one run in three innings on four hits, striking out one.

Tramontano had two hits for Titusville, while Carson Stevens also drove in a run.

SHARON 16, KENNEDY CATHOLIC 1, 4 innings

SHARON, Pa. – Cole Voytik and Mikey Rodriques drove in three runs each as Sharon powered past Kennedy Catholic, 16-1 in four innings.

The Tigers scored 13 runs in the second and third innings, also taking advantage of seven Kennedy Catholic errors. Santino Piccirilli was also 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI.

Rodriques got the win, allowing one unearned run in two innings.

Cord Pocza took the loss for Kennedy Catholic, allowing eight runs in two innings.

LAKEVIEW 5, MERCER 0

STONEBORO, Pa. – Ted Shillito tossed six shutout innings as Lakeview blanked Mercer, 5-0.

Shillito allowed five hits and one walk while striking out eight.

The Sailors scored four runs in the fourth inning, as Owen Dye went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, while Shillito, Jackson Gadsby, and Brody Snyder also drove in a run each.

Jake Mattocks took the loss, allowing five runs (four earned) in 3 ⅓ innings.
