REDBANK VALLEY 7, CLARION-LIMESTONE 2

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Bryson Bain used both his arm and his bat to help lift visiting Redbank Valley to a 7-2 win at Clarion-Limestone.

Bain tossed five strong innings on the mound giving up two earned runs on five hits and four walks while striking out four and also drove in four runs while going 2-for-4 with a run scored.

For his efforts, the senior was named the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Game. He talked about the win after the contest.

Tate Minich added a two-run single for the Bulldogs while going 1-for-4, while Owen Clouse scored three runs out of the leadoff spot going 1-for-3.

Tommy Smith was 2-for-4 for C-L with Nick Aaron going 1-for-3 with an RBI and Bryson Huwar 1-for-4 with an RBI.

                          

Ty Carrier and Minich helped close out the game on the mound for the Bulldogs.

Carrier threw a scoreless inning allowing two hits, while Minich pitched a scoreless seventh allowing one hit and striking out one.

Huwar took the loss going 4 ⅔ innings allowing five runs, three earned, on six hits. He didn’t walk a batter but hit three while striking out five.

Logan Lutz gave up two unearned runs on two hits, a walk, and a hit batter while striking out four in 1 ⅔ innings of work, and Jase Ferguson threw a scoreless inning striking out one.

               

CLEARFIELD 6, DUBOIS 5

DUBOIS, Pa. – Scoring twice in the fifth and three times in the sixth, Clearfield erased a 5-1 deficit on its way to a 6-5 win over DuBois at Showers Field in DuBois.

After tying the game at five in the sixth, Ryan Gearhart’s two-out single to center broke the tie for the Bison.

Kyle Elensky went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI, while Blake Pretash went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs, and an RBI, and Cole Bloom was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Jordan Ell was 2-for-4 with a run scored for DuBois with Kaden Clark going 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI and Brycen Dinkfelt 1-for-3 with a walk and two RBIs.

Gearhart went 3 ⅔ innings of relief to get the win. He gave up one earned run on one hit and three walks while striking out four.

Elensky started and went 3 ⅓ innings allowing four runs, one earned, on six hits and a walk while striking out three.

Tycen Roy took the loss in relief going 1 ⅓ innings allowing three earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out one. Austin Mitchell started and pitched 4 ⅔ innings allowing three earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four. Dinkfelt pitched one inning striking out one.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 6, JOHNSONBURG 5

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Ashton Stonbraker went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs to help Punxsutawnry to a 6-5 win over Johnsonburg.

            

Peyton Hetrick was also 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs for the Chucks with Jake Sikora going 2-for-3, Carter Savage was 2-for-4 with a run scored, and Isaac London was 1-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs.

Jake Sikora went five innings to get the win allowing two runs, one earned, on two hits and six walks while striking out three. Dakota Long went two innings giving up three runs, two earned, on two hits and three walks.

Collin Porter was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Johnsonburg.

Porter took the loss going four innings allowing five earned runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four.

Jefferson Freeburg pitched three innings allowing one earned run on four hits and three walks while striking out four.

PORT ALLEGANY 7, BRADFORD 4

BRADFORD, Pa. – Sawyer Price went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs to help Port Allegany to a 7-4 win at Bradford.

Drew Evens was also 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored, and Noah Archer was 1-for-4 with two runs scored.

Prince got the win going four innings allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits, four walks, and a hit batter while striking out eight.

Evens started and went three innings allowing one earned run on one hit, one walk, and a hit batter while striking out two.

Cam Austin was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Bradford with Ryan Ward going 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored.

Talan Reese took the loss going four innings allowing seven runs, three earned, on six hits and six walks while striking out two. Ashton Smith pitched three scoreless innings allowing three hits and two walks while striking out one.

CRANBERRY 7, KARNS CITY 3

SENECA, Pa. – Preston Forrest drove in three runs to help Cranberry to a 7-3 win over visiting Karns City.

Forrest was 3-for-4 and also scored a run.

Also for the Berries, Nolan Rembold went 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI and Kenny Lavrich walked once and scored twice.

Cole Sherwin and Michael Neff each went 1-for-3 with a run scored for Karns City, while Hobie Bartoe was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Austin Shoup got the win going five innings allowing two unearned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out seven. Austin Fento picked up the save going two innings allowing an unearned run on two hits and a walk while striking out five.

Jacob Jones took the loss going two innings in relief allowing five runs, two earned, on four hits and a walk while striking out two. Neff started and went four innings giving up two runs, both earned, on both hits while striking out four.

OSWAYO VALLEY 15, GALETON 12

GALETON, Pa. – Trailing by four going to the seventh, Oswayo Valley rallied to pick up a 15-12 win at Galeton.

The Green Wave were down 10-6 entering the seventh but four Galeton errors opened the door for the comeback.

Oswayo Valley also got key doubles from Brayden Wiley and Cayden Black in the inning.

Black added a triple in the game and was 4-for-4 with a walk, three RBIs, and four runs scored.

Ian Bilski also doubled and tripled going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBIs, and Wiley was 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Also for the Green Waves, Michael Mertsock went 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.

Gavyn Sykora had a pair of doubles for Galeton going 3-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored, and an RBI, while Ayden Whipple was 2-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored, and two RBIs. Mathew Zur also went 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Wiley got the win going one inning in relief allowing three runs, two earned, on two hits, a hit batter, and three walks. Bilski pitched 5 ⅓ innings allowing nine runs, eight earned, on five hits, four walks, and two hitters striking out five. Gaige Hohenwarter got the save allowing one hit while striking out one.

CLARION 12, KEYSTONE 2, 5 INNINGS

PAINT TWP., Pa. – Devon Lauer drove in three runs to help Clarion to a 12-2, five-inning win over visiting Keystone.

Lauer was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.

Cam Lapinto and Noah Harrison each added a pair of RBIs with Laptinto going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a walk.

Ryan Alston was also 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI and Derek Smail scored three times while going 1-for-3.

Lauer got the win going 3 ⅔ innings of relief allowing one hit and a walk while striking out four.

Alston started and went 1 ⅓ innings allowing two unearned runs on two hits. He struck out three.

Chaz Renninger was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Nick Cosper took the loss allowing four runs, one earned, on five walks, and a hit batter in 2 ⅔ innings. He struck out two but didn’t allow a hit.

Cole Henry went two innings allowing eight runs, four earned, on eight hits and a walk.

CURWENSVILLE 15, GLENDALE 0, 3 INNINGS

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – A 13-run third inning helped Curwensville put away visiting Glendale 15-0 in three innings.

The Golden Tide needed just six hits to score the 15 runs taking advantage of 10 walks, a hit batter, and five Viking errors.

Shane Sunderlin was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and three RBIs, while Jake Mullins, Ayden Sutika, and Logan Kunkle each drove in a pair of runs.

Mullins was for 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, Sutika was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored, and Kunkle also scored two runs.

Also for the Golden Tide, Chris Fegert was 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Jayson Rowles allowed one hit over three innings of work striking out four.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 13, OTTO-ELDRED 0, 5 INNINGS

ELDRED, Pa. – Luke Ginther went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs scored, and three RBIs to lead visiting Elk County Catholic to a 13-0, five-inning win over Otto-Eldred.

David Anderson was also 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI, while Ben Reynolds was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Lance O’Neil was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Braden Maholic had the lone hit for Otto-Eldred.

Tommy Slay got the win going three innings allowing one hit and two walks while striking out eight. O’Neil went one innings striking out two and hitting a batter, and Ben Paul pitched one inning walking one and striking out two.

Maholic went three innings allowing seven earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out two. Jared Obenrader went one inning allowing four runs, one earned, on four hits, and Manning Splain went an inning allowing two unearned runs on two hits.
