FAIRVIEW 5, MERCYHURST PREP 3, 8 innings

ERIE, Pa. – Vinny Campoli’s two-run double in the eighth inning broke a 3-3 tie and lifted Fairview to a 5-3 win over Mercyhurst Prep.

Fairview led 3-2 going to the bottom of the seventh, with Mike Nelligan’s two-out single tying the game and sending it to extra innings.

Fairview had taken a 3-2 lead on Eddie Dolansky’s solo home run in the sixth inning. Dolansky also had a triple.

   

                  

Logan Fiolek tossed two shutout innings for Fairview, allowing one hit and striking out four.

Jake Manendo also drove in a run for the Lakers.

Ryan Gates took the loss, allowing two runs in 1 ⅓ innings on two hits and three walks.

ROCKY GROVE 11, CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 0, 5 innings

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. – Isaac Clayton and Eli Wilson drove in three runs each and Aaron Burkhardt hit a home run in Rocky Grove’s 11-0, five-inning win over Cambridge Springs.

                          

The Orioles scored three runs in the third inning, which included Burkhardt’s solo home run, a pair of bases-loaded walks, with Clayton clearing the bases on a three-run triple.

Travis Knupp also drove in a pair of runs for the Orioles.

Eli Moreland got the win, going 2 ⅔ innings and combined with Clayton (2 ⅓ innings) to allow just two hits and strike out eight.

CONNEAUT (Pa.) 6, OIL CITY 4, 6 innings

               

LINESVILLE, Pa. – Conneaut scored four runs in the fifth inning en route to a 6-4, six-inning win over Oil City.

The inning included a key error that allowed a pair of runs to score, as well as back-to-back bases-loaded walks to Trent Roncalione and Ethan Stright.

Roncalione drove in three runs, while Ryan Richardson had a double and a run scored.

Dawson Thomas went five innings to get the win, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out four, and walking two. Richardson pitched a scoreless sixth inning with two strikeouts to get the save.

Jacob Teeter and Mike McFarland both doubled and drove in a pair of runs for Oil City.

Jake Hornbeck took the loss, allowing four unearned runs on one hit and six walks, striking out five.

MCDOWELL 3, ERIE 0, 5 innings

ERIE, Pa. – Izaak Ogrodowczyk tossed five shutout innings as McDowell earned a 3-0, five-inning win over Erie.

Ogrodowczyk allowed just one hit and four walks while striking out seven.

The Trojans scored a pair of runs in the first inning en route to the win. Jake Banks was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Dan Snyder 2-for-3 doubles, while Jackson Hower also drove in a run for McDowell.

            

WARREN 7, GENERAL MCLANE 3

WARREN, Pa. – Brady Berdine allowed just one hit over 5 ⅔ innings and J.T. Blum went 4-for-4 as Warren earned a 7-3 win over General McLane.

Berdine allowed two earned runs, striking out seven and walking six.

Blum, meanwhile, had two RBIs and two runs as the Dragons took a 4-1 lead with three runs in the second inning. In that frame, Blum had an RBI single, Eric Dippold drew a bases-loaded walk and Owen Blum was the recipient of a catcher’s interference call with the bases loaded.

Eric Dippold had an RBI double for Warren in the sixth inning and J.T. Blum added his second RBI single of the game. Anthony Errett also had a pair of hits for Warren.

Carson Farr came on in relief of Berdine, allowing one run in 1 ⅓ innings, allowing two hits, and striking out one.

Ross Morrow took the loss for GM, allowing four runs (one earned) in two innings, allowing five hits, walking two, and striking out three.

Isaac Kennedy and Charlie Swanson drove in a run each for the Lancers.

IROQUOIS 16, EISENHOWER 1, 4 innings

LAWRENCE PARK, Pa. – Tyler Shakespeare and Ethan Burroughs drove in three runs each as Iroquois put up multiple runs in every inning in a 16-1, four-inning win over Eisenhower.

Ben Burkhardt had a big day both on the mound and at the plate. He tossed four-inning, allowing one run on two hits, striking out 10, and walking one. He also drew three walks and a base hit, scoring four times.

Hunter Alderson and Matt Schaffner drove in two runs apiece for the Braves.

Garrett Jensen went 1-for-2 with an RBI for Eisenhower.

Spencer Wynn took the loss, allowing six runs (five earned) in two innings, allowing four hits, striking out three and walking five.

SENECA 9, GIRARD 2, 5 innings

GIRARD, Pa. – Conner Bem’s three-run home run in the second inning helped lift Seneca to a 9-2 win over Girard in five innings.

It was part of a five-RBI effort for Bem, as the Bobcats raced out to an 8-1 lead in the third inning. Klayton Komisarski was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Bobcats.

Conner Kaveney tossed five innings to get the win, allowing just two runs and four hits, striking out five and walking three.

JJ Lehman and Gunner Bax drove in runs for Girard.

Ashton Johnson took the loss, allowing five runs in his inning of work.

TITUSVILLE 7, NORTH EAST 1, 5 innings

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Garrett Knapp, Kolin Baker, and Hunter Thomas all had RBIs in a four-run fourth inning that helped send Titusville to a 7-1, five-inning rain-shortened win over Titusville.

Thomas tossed 4 ⅓ strong innings, allowing one run on just two hits, striking out five, and walking four.

Ashton Burleigh also doubled, scored two runs, and drove in a run for the Rockets.

Tyler Wittman had an RBI for North East.

Wittman took the loss for North East, allowing two runs in an inning of work.

CORRY 5, FORT LEBOEUF 3, 5 innings

CORRY, Pa. – Corry used a three-run third inning and scored twice more in the fourth in a 5-3, five-inning win over Fort LeBoeuf.

Trailing 2-0 going into the third, Max Rimdzius tied the game with a two-run single and John Albers doubled in the next at-bat to give the Beavers the lead.

Corry struck for two more runs in the fourth, scoring on a wild pitch and a Nathan Lesher RBI double.

Caleb Marrs got the win for Corry, allowing three runs in 4 ⅓ innings on five hits while striking out six and walking four.

Dan Caldwell hit a two-run home run in the first inning for Fort LeBoeuf.

Caldwell also suffered the loss, allowing three unearned runs in three innings, allowing four hits, walking three, and striking out three.

SOFTBALL

CONNEAUT (Pa.) 18, ERIE 2, 4 innings

ERIE, Pa. – Linda Shephard belted two home runs and drove in five as Conneaut rolled to an 18-2, four-inning win over Erie.

The Eagles scored 10 runs in the fourth inning en route to the win.

Kaley Cook was 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBIs, and three runs, while Eliza Harrington was 1-for-2 with a double, driving in a pair of runs.

Brooke Wise got the win, allowing one earned run in four innings on three hits, striking out eight.

OSWAYO VALLEY 15, YOUNGSVILLE 4, 5 innings

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Oswayo Valley scored nine runs in the first inning on its way to a 15-4, five-inning win over Youngsville.

Brooke George and McKenzie George led the way offensively, each driving in four runs, including a solo home run from Brooke George in the fifth.

The Green Wave had 15 hits, including seven for extra bases. In the nine-run first inning, McKenzie George had an RBI double, Laya Philips an RBI fielder’s choice, MaKenzie Mesler a two-run double, and Charlotte Austin-Keech a two-run single.

The top four hitters in the Green Wave lineup, Austin-Keech, McKenzie George, Brooke George, and Phillips combined to go 10-of-14 and scored nine runs.

In the circle, Mesler allowed four earned runs in her five innings, allowing six hits and four walks, striking out 11.

Youngsville’s Sam Wilhelm crossed the plate on a wild pitch in the first inning, while a three-run Eagle second was keyed by a catcher’s interference with the basis loaded, followed by a walk to Willhelm, finishing up with an RBI fielder’s choice off the bat of Molly Helman.

Helman took the loss, allowing 12 runs in three innings of work, striking out five.
