Soft: Clearfield Loses 8-run Lead but Beats Huntingdon in 10 after Game-Ending DP; Cranberry Edges Karns City; Hakes Throws 5-inning No-No for O-E powered by N. Washington Rodeo

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Clearfield turned a game-ending double play to beat homestanding Huntingdon, 10-9, in 10 innings.

After losing a 9-1 lead after 4 ½ innings, the Lady Bison found themselves tied at nine going to the 10th.

With the automatic runner placed on second, Aevril Hayward doubled to give Clearfield a 10-9 lead.

Huntingdon got its runner on second in the bottom of the 10th, but Megan Wisor got a strikeout before the Lady Bison turned a 1-5 game-ending double play.

                  

Clearfield led 9-1 after scoring a run in the top of the fifth, but Huntingdon scored four in the fifth, three in the sixth, and one in the seventh to tie the game.

Ruby Singleton was 3-for-6 with a double and three RBIs for Clearfield while Sam Campolong went 1-for-5 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Madi McBride and Hayward added a pair of hits each for the Lady Bison with McBride going 2-fo-6 with an RI and two runs scored and Hayward going 2-for-6 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

Amy Twigg also doubled while going 1-for-2 with three walks and two runs scored.

Wisor got the win going nine innings allowing six runs, two earned on 10 hits, five walks, and two hit batters. She struck out eight.,

                          

Joelle Henry went one inning allowing three runs, two earned, on four hits while striking out two.

Alivia Edward was 2-for-5 with a double, a walk, two runs scored, and four RBIs for Huntingdon.

Alivia Nicklow took the loss going 10 innings allowing nine runs, 10 runs, four earned, on 11 hits and seven walks while striking out 10.

CRANBERY 9, KARNS CITY 8

SENECA, Pa. – Scoring four times in the bottom of the fifth, Cranberry rallied past visiting Karns City, 9-8.

               

The Berries were down 8-5 before rallying for the victory.

Gracee Hess’s three-run home run capped the scoring for Cranberry.

Hess was 1-for-3 with a run scored and three RBIs.

Haylie Gregory also hit a home run going 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Rylee Coe and Cassie Scarbrough each added a pair of hits with Coe going 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI and Scarbrough was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Coe got the win in relief of Reyna Watson going four innings allowing two runs on three hits. She struck out four.

Watson went three innings allowing seven runs on nine hits and four walks while striking out four.

Lyrick Reed went 4-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and four runs scored for Karns City, while Addison Burrows hit a home run while going 3-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and three RBIs.

Aubrey Taylor was also 1-for-4 with two RBIs for the Lady Gremlins with Nicole Taylor was 2-for-4.

            

Burrows took the loss going six innings allowing nine runs, seven earned, on nine hits and three walks while striking out two.

OTTO-ELDRED 22, CAMERON COUNTY 0, 5 INNINGS

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Jessi Hall and Kyla Andreano combined to drive in seven runs to lead Otto-Eldred to a 22-0, five-inning win at Cameron County.

Hall went 3-for-5 with a walk, a run discord, and four RBIs, while Andreano was 4-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

Rayel Hakes and Lexi Prince each added three hits, including a double apiece, in the win with Hayes driving in two and scoring once and Prince driving in two and scoring four times.

Kate Rhinehart and Carrie Drummond also added doubles and two hits with Rhinehart going 2-for-4 with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored and Drummond going 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored.

Hakes got the win tossing a five-inning no-hitter walking one and striking out 14.

NORTHERN POTTER 12, COUDERSPORT 1, 5 INNINGS

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Jaylyn Williammee and Kayla Hyde combined to throw a five-inning no-hitter as Northern Potter beat homestanding Coudersport, 12-1, in five innings.

Williammee went four innings in getting the win. She allowed an unearned run while striking out 12.

Hyde went one inning walking two and striking out one.

Lily Steele drove in five runs for the Lady Panthers while going 1-for-2 with a walk, while Hayley Chapman and Riley Knowles each drove in a pair of runs.

Chapman went 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs, while Knowles was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Reagan Slawson also added a 1-for-2 game with three walks, an RBI, and two runs scored, and Taylor Knowles went 1-for-2 with two walks and three runs scored.

Madyson Dubots-Angood walked and scored the run for Northern Potter.

Hannah Fleniken took the loss going five innings allowing 12 runs, six earned, on nine hits, eight walks, and five hit batters. She struck out five.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 15, BROCKWAY 0, 4 INNINGS

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Behind five Melia Mitskavich RBIs, DuBois Central Catholic rolled to a 15-0, four-inning win at Brockway.

Mitskavich was 3-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored.

Kayley Risser also scored three times for the Lady Cardinals going 1-for-2 with a double and two walks, while Jessy Frank scored twice going 1-for-2 with a triple and a walk.

Lily Davidson was also 1-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI in the win, and Kiki Foster went 1-for-1 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI.

Rheanna Spinda and Sophia Scmader each had a hit for Brockway.

DCC used three pitchers – Mitskavich, Lydia Morgan, and Rylee Kulbatsky. They combined to give up two hits while striking out six.

Kassie Tucker took the loss going 1 ⅔ innings allowing five runs, three earned, on two hits and five walks.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 22, BROOKVILLE 0, 3 INNINGS

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Ciarra Toven and Brooke Young each hit home runs to lead Punxsutawney to a 22-0, three-inning win at Brookville.

Toven was 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored, and four RBIs, while Young, who added a double, was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs.

Olivia Toven also drove in three runs in the win going 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored, while Sarah Gotwald was 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Emily Dobbins added a triple and two RBIs in the win with Brynn Hergert going 2-for-4 with an RI and three runs scored and Brinley Hallman going 1-for-1 with two walks, and RBI, and three runs scored. Avary Powell also scored three times.

Jordan Daisley was 1-for-1 with a double for Brookville.

Hallman got the win going two innings allowing a hit while striking out six.

Olivia Toven pitched one inning striking out one.
