Brown, Anderson Lead Kane Boys Past Sheffield; ECC Gets D9 League Victory

KANE, Pa. – Dane Anders had 26 points and five steals to lead Kane to a 59-56 win over visiting Sheffield in AML action.

Connor Brown added 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Wolves (7-9 overall, 2-5 AML North), including grabbing his own rebound off a missed free throw and putback at the horn to set the final score.

Sheffield (5-10, 0-4) was down one and held for a last shot but Leihdon Woterson had a shot rim out. Brown grabbed the rebound and was fouled with 1.3 to play before missing both free throws.

Wotorson had 25 points, six rebounds, three steals, and two assists for the Wolverines while Colby Barr and Allen Eaton each had 10 points. Dylan Hardwick added nine points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

                                      

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 52, BRADFORD 38

BRADFORD, PA. – Wil Wortman led a trio of Elk County Catholic players in double digits with 17 points, as the visiting Crusaders beat Bradford, 52-38, in D9 League action.

Colby Nussbaum added 13 points for ECC (16-0 overall, 6-0 D9 League) while Jordan Wasko had 12 points.

Chase Winberg and Talan Reese each had 10 points for Bradford (7-9, 1-4).

WILLIAMSBURG 52, CURWENSVILLE 48

                          

WILLIAMSBURG, Pa. – A slow start hurt visiting Curwensville in a 52-48 loss to Williamsburg in ICC North.

The Golden Tide (8-6 overall, 2-5 ICC North) trailed by 10, 32-22, at halftime after being outscored 19-9 in the first quarter.

Curwensville, though, rallied ot get within three, 43-40, going to the fourth quarter.

Rowan Gorsuch led Williamsburg (11-3, 5-2) with 22 points, including eight in the first quarter, while Logan Bratner also scored eight in the opening frame and finished with 12 points.

Davis Fleming had 19 for Curwensville with Parker Wood adding 14 and Hunter Tkacik eight.
