    in the 1A class.

What is your theme for this season?

  • The Music of Green Day featuring excerpts from American Idiot, Bang Bang, Still Breathing, Basket Case, and Time of Your Life (Good Riddance).

What is your school’s fight song?

  • The Horse

What are some other tunes you play to hype your football team up on game days? —

  • We play a mix of classic pep band tunes with some pop favorites, like Bad Romance by Lady Gaga, Carry on My Wayward Son by Kansas, and Eye of the Tiger by Survivor

What does it look like for a band member under those Friday Night Lights?

  • It feels like we are a part of the football team. It’s like we are a cohesive unit with the team – Adam Carnahan, Drum Major
  • It’s a lot of fun. We get to hang out with our friends and perform our music for the people in the stands – Alyssa Rittenhouse, Drum Major

What are some traditions your band has?:

  • On the last day of our band camp, we always celebrate with a pizza party and this year we added a pool party.
  • As we arrive at our school after a football game or competition, we sing our alma mater.
  • Before every home football game, we have a parade with the cheerleaders from our school through town to the football field to excite the town to come cheer on our team!

What are some of the band’s goals moving forward? —

  • Our goal is to keep growing in numbers and our skill set. We started out this year ahead of where we were last year in terms of completion of our show. We attribute that to the experience of our band and each week we continue to see more and more improvement.
