What does it look like for a band member under those Friday Night Lights?

  • “Being under the Friday Night Lights is an invigorating experience. It
feels amazing performing on the field and living in the moment. The
band works so hard to memorize all of our sets and music for the show.
During our performance, all of our hard work comes together and we go
into autopilot. Game nights with the band I will remember for the rest
of my life.” – Holden Turek, Field Commander/Band President

What are some traditions your band has?:

  • We end rehearsal as a team with our Field Commander giving thoughts
on practice, and then directors sharing thoughts and other
    information.
  • Have a tailgate/picnic lunch before competitions.
  • Put windows down on our way into opposing towns and cheer as loud as we can.
  • At the end of the season we have a fun day with lots of different
    games and activities.

What are some of the band’s goals moving forward? —

  • Our goals moving forward are to continue to grow in size, attend more
camps/skills clinics to improve our abilities, and to be more
    competitive at competitions.
