SOFTBALL: Singleton Reaches 100 Hit Milestone, but Clearfield Falls; Brockway Tops Bradford on Walk-Off

MARTINSBURG, Pa. – Ruby Singleton’s 3-hit day gave her 100 hits for her career, but it wasn’t enough as Clearfield fell at Central-Martinsburg, 13-7.

Singleton had a double among her three hits and scored three runs. Eve Siegel also had three hits and drove in two. Aevril Hayward had two hits and two RBI, and Haley Billotte scored twice and drove in a pair.

Megan Wisor allowed six earned runs on four hits with three walks and a strikeout in 2 ⅔ innings. Joell Henry allowed six earned runs on nine hits with three walks and a strikeout in 2 ⅓ innings. Hayward gave up one earned run on one hit and a walk in one inning.

BROCKWAY 12, BRADFORD 11

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Josie Orinko’s single scored Meghan Hertel with the winning run as Brockway topped Bradford, 12-11.

   

                  

Orinko stepped to the plate with two outs and the bases loaded. She lined a single up the middle and Hertel crossed the plate for the game-winner.

Bradford was scoring early and often with at least one run in each of the first five innings. The Owls scored three each in the first, second, and fourth. Brockway couldn’t quite match that early output with two runs in the first and fourth, and three in the third. The Rovers exploded for four runs in the sixth to tie it at 11-11 heading to the seventh.

Rheanna Spinda led the Rovers with four hits and four runs scored. Orinko finished with three hits, a run scored, and three RBI. Isabella Patton tripled and drove in four, and Meeca Smith scored twice and had three RBI.

Bailee Carberry got the win allowing one unearned run on two hits with three walks and seven strikeouts in four innings. Miley Wanson gave up 10 runs, six earned, on five hits with nine walks and four strikeouts in three innings.

Kendyl Cruz had two hits, including a triple, scored twice, and drove in three for the Owls. Daisy Greene drove in a pair, and Kalie Dixon tripled, scored two runs, and had an RBI.

                          

Greene took the loss allowing 12 runs, six earned, on 10 hits with three walks and seven strikeouts.
