Base: No Hitter Abound – Schuessler 7-inning No-No for O-E; McDowell 5-inning Perfecto for Smethport; Quick 4-inning No-No for Clearfield powered by N. Washington Rodeo

BOLIVAR, N.Y. – Zach Schuessler threw a no-hitter as Otto-Eldred beat Cuba-Rushford, 6-1, at Bolivar-Richburg.

Schuessler walked two and hit three while striking out eight.

Jaden Prince went 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored, and two RBIs for the Terrors while Manning Splain was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Finn Ricketts took the loss going six innings allowing six runs, five earned, on seven hits, three walks, and a hit batter. He struck out six.

                  

In the second game of the day for Otto-Eldred, the Terrors fell to host Bolivar-Richburg, 11-1, in six innings.

Aydin Sisson was 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs, and three runs scored for B-R while Reiss Gaines went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.

Caden Allen got the win going five innings allowing one earned run on three hits, a walk, and two hit batters. He struck out six.

Schuessler was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Otto-Eldred.

Jared Obenrader took the loss going three innings allowing six earned runs on 11 hits and a hit batter.

                          

SMETHPORT 10, NORTHERN POTTER 0, 5 INNINGS

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Brentton McDowell tossed a five-inning perfect game as Smethport beat visiting Northern Potter, 10-0, in five innings.

McDowell struck out 12 while using 61 pitches, 48 of them strikes, in throwing the perfection.

Cole Szuba led the Hubbers’ offense going 1-for-3 with a double and four RBIs with McDowell going 2-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI.

Ryan Mason and Owen Rounsville each scored three runs.

               

Wyatt Bliss took the loss allowing seven runs, five earned, on four hits, six walks, and a hit batter in 4 ⅓ innings of work. He struck out six.

CLEARFIELD 18, BISHOP CARROLL 0, 4 INNINGS

EBENSBURG, Pa. – Hayvin Bumbarger drove in five runs, as Clearfield rolled to an 18-0, four-inning win at Bishop Carroll.

Bumbarger was 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, and a run scored.

Christian Welker, Anthony Lopez, and Hunter Rumsky each added three RBIs in the win with Welker going 1-for-3 with three runs scored, Lopez scoring twice, and Rumsky going 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Elijah Quick got the win tossing a four-inning no-hitter walking one and striking out five.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 6, BROOKVILLE 5, 8 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Colby Nussbaum’s walk-off hit by a pitch gave Elk County Catholic a 6-5 win over Brookville at Berwind Park in St. Marys.

With one out in the eighth of a tie game, a single and two walks loaded the bases for Nussbaum, who was plunked by a 1-1 pitch from Sam Krug to win the game.

            

Brookville had forced extra innings with a three-run seventh-inning rally that included an RBI single by Jack Pete and a game-tying two-run single by Ladd Blake.

The Raiders then thought they had taken the lead in the top of the eighth when Sergio Sotillo grounded into a fielder’s choice with runners on first and second but a throw to first went out of play.

The umpires, after a short discussion, however, said the runner going into second, CXX Kessler, had not slid properly and was called for interference completing an inning-ending double play.

Nussbaum and Pat Forster each had a pair of RBIs for ECC with Nussbaum going 1-for-2 with a walk, the hit by a pitch, and a run scored and Forster going 1-for-4.

Lance O’Neill was also 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for the Crusaders

Charlie Geci got the win going 1 ⅔ innings of scoreless relief allowing a hit while hitting two batters.

O’Neill started and went 6 ⅓ innings allowing five runs, three earned, on 12 hits, a walk, and a hit batter while striking out four.

Krug took the loss going four innings allowing one earned run on two hits, three walks, and two hit batters while striking out five.

COUDERSPORT 6, CAMERON COUNTY 3

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Quinn Kratzer drove in two runs and Owen Deutschlander and Mason Roessner each had two hits to help Coudersport to a 6-3 road win over Cameron County.

Kratzer was 1-for-4 with Deutschlander and Roessner each going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Gavyn Ayders also scored two runs after being hit by a pitch and walking, and L.T. Myers was 1-for-2 with two walks, a run scored, and an RBI.

Roessner got the win in relief of Ayers going four innings allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out six.

Ayers pitched three innings giving up two runs, one earned, on a hit, three walks, and two hit batters. He struck out eight.

Jesop Farabaugh had a pair of RBIs for Cameron County but was the losing pitcher going 5 ⅓ innings allowing six runs, five earned, on five hits, four walks, and a hit batter. He struck out eight.

MONITEAU 4, A-C VALLEY 0

BUTLER, Pa. – Dawson Wallace fired a two-hit shutout to lead Moniteau to a 4-0 win over visiting A-C Valley/Union at Michelle Krill Field at Historic Pullman Park in Butler.

Wallace struck out nine and needed just 73 pitches, 56 of them strikes.

James Gillen was 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored for the Warriors while Alex James was 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.

Trey Fleming took the loss going six innings allowing four runs, two earned, on seven hits and two walks while striking out four.

BRADFORD 8, BROCKWAY 3

BRADFORD, Pa. – Talan Reese used his bat and his arm to give Bradford an 8-3 win over visiting Brockway.

Reese was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a walk, three runs scored, and two RBIs and was also the winning pitcher.

He went seven innings allowing three runs, only one earned, on four hits while striking out 11 and using just 90 pitches, 71 for strikes.

Tarren Reese was also 3-for-3 with three RBIs for the Owls with Jackson Nannen going 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Ben Yale was 2-for-3 with two home runs, two runs scored, and three RBIs for Brockway.

Dylan Bash took the loss going four innings allowing seven runs, five earned, on eight hits and three walks while striking out five.

CURWENSVILLE 13, HARMONY 0, 5 INNINGS

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – A 12-run second inning lifted Curwensville to a 13-0, five-inning win over visiting Harmony.

Logan Kunkle and Lincoln Hoyt each had three RBIs for the Tide.

Kunkle was 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored and Hoyt was 1-for-2 with a triple, a walk, and a run scored.

Hunter Tkacik also helped the offensive cause for Curwensville going 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored while Grant Swanson was 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Gavin McDermott was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Lawson Neiswender got the win allowing two hits while striking out seven in five innings.

KEYSTONE 14, FOREST AREA 2, 5 INNINGS

KNOX, Pa. – Kord Stewart and Chaz Renninger each drove in two runs in Keystone’s 14-2, five-inning win over visiting Forest Area.

Stewart was 2-for-3 while Renninger was 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored.

Brady Dunlap also went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and an RBI for the Panthers,

Stewart got the win allowing an unearned run on three hits while striking out four in four innings.

Ezra Busch was 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run scored, and an RBI for Forest Area.

Colton Kuntz took the loss going 2 ⅓ innings allowing seven earned runs on five hits and seven walks while striking out three.

OSWAYO VALLEY SWEPT BY COWANESQUE VALLEY

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Visiting Cowanesque Valley swept Oswayo Valley in a doubleheader winning by scores of 6-4 and 11-1 in five innings.

In the 6-4 victory, Jordan Vargeson was 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs for the Indians.

Ayren Morgan got the win going four innings allowing three runs, one earned, on three hits and a walk while striking out three.

Kaden Cole picked up the save going three innings allowing one earned run on three hits.

Andrew Wood was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Oswayo Valley.

Drayden Norton took the loss going seven innings allowing six runs, four earned, on four hits, a hit batter, and three walks. He struck out six.

In the second game, Morgan was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Cowanesque Valley while Lucas Hamilton went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, and four runs scored, and Cole was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

Levi Stahli got the win going five innings allowing an earned run on four hits, a hit batter, and a walk. He struck out three.

Brayden Wiley was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Oswayo Valley while Ethan Hackman was 2-for-3.

Hackman took the loss going 4 ⅓ innings allowing 10 runs, seven earned, on eight hits, a hit batter, and four walks. He struck out four.
