Soft: Cameron County Walks Past Coudy; Karns City Scores Five in 9th to Beat C. Clarion; Greene Lifts Bradford to Win powered by N. Washington Rodeo

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Taking advantage of 26 walks and six hit batters, Cameron County held off Coudersport, 25-20, in Coudersport.

Hailey McAulay and Laila Artman each drew five walks in the win while Kierstyn Smith and Maggie Abriatis each drew three walks. Abriatis also was hit by three pitches while McAulay and Smith each were plunked once.

McAulay, Smith, Caitlyn Palumbo, and Sabina Hoffower each scored three runs with Hoffower added two RBIs.

Artman and Sarah Cressley each had a double and scored two runs and Smith had three hits.

   

                  

Palumbo got the win going seven innings allowing 20 runs on 16 hits, six walks, and a hit batter while striking out four.

Laura Dunn went 5-for-6 with a double, three runs scored, and five RBIs.

Hannah Fleniken hit a home run while going 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while Sierra Myers had two doubles and a triple while going 4-for-5 with four runs scored and four RBIs.

Fleniken took the loss going 5 ⅔ innings allowing 16 runs on seven hits, 19 walks, and three hit batters. She struck out five.

KARNS CITY 12, CENTRAL CLARION 7

                          

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Scoring five unearned in the top of the ninth, Karns City beat Central Clarion 12-7.

After one out in the ninth, a pair of Lady Gremlins reached on errors before the bases were loaded on a fielder’s choice.

Addison Burrows then broke the tie with a single before Jada Polczynski’s two-run single helped break things open.

Polczynski was 2-for-3 with three walks, three RBIs, and a run scored, while Burrows was 1-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.

               

Emily Sherman also went 2-fo-5 with a run scored and two RBIs for Karns City, and Nicole Huff went 2-for-5 with three runs scored.

Burrows got the win going nine innings allowing seven runs, four earned, on 10 hits while striking out three.

Alyssa Wiant went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, and two RBIs for Central Clarion, which led 5-0 at the end of two innings.

Kaylee Smith added a 3-for-5 day with an RBI, and Jenna Dunn was 1-for-5 with two runs scored.

Dunn took the loss going nine innings allowing 12 runs, three earned, on 11 hits and nine walks while striking out four.

BRADFORD 11, BROOKVILLE 5

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Daisy Greene wasn’t expecting to pitch in Bradford’s 11-5 win at Brookville, but when called upon after an injury to Kali Dixon Greene helped lift the Lady Owls to the win.

She went 6 ⅓ innings allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits and a walk while striking out one.

Dixon went ⅔ of an inning giving up a run on two walks and two hits before coming out in the first.

Dixon was able to stay in the contest and play first base, and it was a good thing for Bradford as she went 5-for-5 with a double, a run scored, and three RBIs.

            

Adilynn Brown went 2-for3 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs in the win, while Kendyl Cruz was 3-for-5 with a triple, a walk, and two runs scored.

Greene also went 2-for-5 with a run scored, and Bella Zandy went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Alyssa Tollini was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs for Brookville, while Megan McKinney was 1-for-34 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI.

Tollini took the loss going seven innings allowing 11 runs, nine earned, on 18 hits and two walks while striking out seven.

ST. MARYS 12, CLEARFIELD 0, 6 INNINGS

HYDE, Pa. – Avery Eckels threw a six-inning, two-hit shutout to lead St. Marys to 12-0, six-inning victory at Clearfield.

Eckels walked one and struck out three.

Taylor Gornati hit a home run fo the Lady Dutch while going 1-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

Kaylen Eozzo went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, and Sidney Reider was 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

Ruby Singleton went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles for Clearfield.

Joelle Henry took the loss going four innings allowing five runs, three earned, on four hits and three walks while striking out one.

REDBANK VALLEY 12, A-C VALLEY/UNION 2, 5 INNINGS

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In a rare road game at its home park, Redbank Valley had little trouble in picking up a 12-2, five-inning win over A-C Valley/Union.

In a game that was moved from Sligo to New Bethlehem because of field conditions, Quinn White hit a home run while going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBIs.

Izzy Bond also drove in four runs going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Keyauna Schimp and Molly Evans each added a pair of RBIs while each had a double. Schimp went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, and Evans was 2-for-3.

Mackenzie Foringer got the win going five innings allowing two earned runs on eight hits while striking out nine.

Alyvia Hartzell was 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Falcon Knights while Ava Snyder went 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored.

Emerson Stevens took the loss going five innings allowing 12 runs on 14 hits and three walks while striking out five.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 12, BROCKWAY 1, 5 INNINGS

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Bailey Thorwart had three hits, Reagan Bauer had three RBIs, and Emily Mourer, Lucy Klawuhn, and Alexa Uhl each drove in two runs to lift Elk County Catholic to a 12-1, five-inning win at Brockway.

Thorwart went 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Bauer was 2-for-3 with a walk, Mourer was 2-for-4, Klawuhn was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, and Uhl was 2-for-3.

Mackenzie Bille also went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Lady Crusaders, and Kiri Emmert scored three times.

Mourer got the win going five innings allowing one unearned run on two hits and a hit batter while striking out four.

Rheanna Spinda was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Brockway.

Miley Wanson took the loss allowing 12 runs, 10 earned, on 16 hits and six walks while striking out four.

CLAYSBURG-KIMMEL 6, CURWENSVILLE 0

CLAYSBURG, Pa. – Emalee Cavender pitched and hit Claysburg-Kimmel past visiting Curwensville, 6-0.

Cavender threw a one-hit shutout while striking out 10 and went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Addison Warren had the lone hit for Curwensville

Addison Siple took the loss going six innings allowing six runs, three earned, on six hits, two walks, and a hit batter while striking out 11.
