Oil City Gets Walk-Off Win; Franklin, Wilmington, Meadville, Sharon Get Shutout Victories Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

OIL CITY, Pa. – An error on a ground ball in the bottom of the seventh inning broke a 5-5 tie and lifted Oil City to a 6-5 win over Slippery Rock.

Slippery Rock took a 5-4 lead in the top of the fifth, but Oil City struck for a run in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game.

Nyssa Hanlon finished with a double and two RBIs for Oil City, while Payton Liederbach also drove in a run for the Oilers, as did Libbie Arnink and Ariana Griffin.

Sophia Garmong got the complete game win, allowing three earned runs on six hits, striking out 14 without issuing a walk.

Lyla Runtas and Mia Sosa homered for Slippery Rock.

   

                  

Sosa took the loss, allowing six runs (two earned) on nine hits, striking out six and walking two.

FRANKLIN 10, TITUSVILLE 0, 5 innings

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Gabrielle Laderer was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs as Franklin beat Titusville, 10-0 in five innings.

Franklin scored seven runs in the first inning en route to the win.

Kirsten Hicks was also 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Franklin.

                          

Jersey Swartz got the win, allowing just three hits in five shutout innings, striking out seven and walking three.

FAIRVIEW 8, ERIE 6

ERIE, Pa. – A 3-run fifth inning helped lift Fairview to an 8-6 win over Erie.

Jenna Szklenski was 2-for-4 with a double, triple and three RBIs for Fairview, while Taylor Ginkle was 2-for-2 with two RBIs

               

Corissa Worline got the win, allowing three runs on nine hits in 4 ⅓ innings, striking out five and walking one.

Hannah Nicklas had a big day at the plate for Erie, going 4-for-4 with two runs.

Danica Rowand took the loss, allowing six runs in six innings on eight hits, striking out five and walking six.

WILMINGTON 17, GROVE CITY 0

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Graeson Grubbs homered, had three hits and drove in four runs as Wilmington blanked Grove City, 17-0.

Karah Deal also homered, had two hits and drove in three runs for Wilmington, while Skylar Leishman was 3-for-3 with two RBIs.

Avery Harlan and Lia Krarup also drove in two runs apiece.

Ava Williamson got the win with a scoreless inning.

MEADVILLE 13, HICKORY 0, 5 innings

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Teagan Reichel, Rylee Kregel and Lila Kightlinger all homered as Meadville beat Hickory, 13-0 in 5 innings.

            

Reichel drove in four runs in the win.

Kightlinger got the win, allowing three hits and striking out seven without issuing a walk in her five innings of work.

Hallie Miller took the loss for Hickory, allowing 13 runs (four earned) in three innings.

SHARON 15, LAKEVIEW 0, 4 innings

SHARON, Pa. – Maddy Vogan belted two home runs, including a grand slam, and finished with seven RBIs as Sharon beat Lakeview, 15-0 in four innings.

Mya Bundrant also hit a two run home run for Sharon, while Dalani Bayer was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, Claire Bodien had a pair of hits and Chloe Pagliarini and Kurtasia Chester both had a double and an RBI.

Bodien got the win, allowing just one hit in four innings, striking out nine and walking three.

Chloe Geiger took the loss for Lakeview, allowing seven runs (two earned) in three innings, striking out one and walking three.

MAPLEWOOD 12, UNION CITY 5

UNION CITY, Pa. – Madyson Banick, Jocelyn Lane and Jillian Shoemaker drove in two runs each as Maplewood beat Union City, 12-5.

Maplewood scored eight runs in the second inning en route to the win.

Lexus Whitman added two doubles and was 4-for-4 with an RBI.

Rhinn Post got the win, allowing five runs in seven innings on nine hits while striking out 11.

Cathryn Reynolds and Shaelynn Kent had two hits each for Union City, with Reynolds belting a double and Kent a triple. Desirae Brown had three RBIs.
