Kulbatsky Tosses 5-Inning No-No for DCC SB in Opener; Karns City Scores Five in Seventh to Beat Redbank Valley powered by N. Washington Rodea

DUBOIS, Pa. – Rylee Kulbatsky threw a five-inning no-hitter to lead DuBois Central Catholic to a season-opening, 13-0, win over visiting Brockway at Heindl Field in DuBois.

All the separated Kulbatsky from a perfect game was a wild pitch on one of her 11 strikeouts that allowed Josie Orinko to reach leading off the second inning.

   

                  

Kulbatsky, who was also 1-for-3 with a run scored at the plate, was named the Allegheny Grille of Foxburg Player of the Game.

She talked about her performance on the Cole Orthondotic Associates Postgame interview.

Offensively, DCC used a four-run second and seven-run third to score 11 of its runs.

Lauren Davidson drove in three going 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Kali Franklin was 2-for-3 with an inside-the-park home run, a run scored, and an RBI.

                          

Lexi Berta was also 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Lady Cardinals, and Kayley Risser and Lydia Morgan each scored twice. Jessy Frank added a pair of RBIs while going 1-for-2 with a walk, and her courtesy runner, Lily Sachs, scored twice.

Miley Wanson took the loss going four innings allowing 13 runs, five earned, on 11 hits and a walk while striking out two.

KARNS CITY 11, REDBANK VALLEY 6

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A five-run seventh inning helped Karns City break a six-all tie on its way to an 11-6 win at Redbank Valley.

               

Ronni Radaker got the seventh started with a bang when he hit a line drive home run to center to give the Lady Gremlins the lead.

Two outs later, Lyrik Reed added a two-run single , and Addison Burrows homered to center to set the final score.

Burrows also doubled for Karns City and was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Reed was 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and three RBIs, and Nicole Taylor and Jada Polcczysnki each added a pair of RBIs.

Taylor was 1-for-4 and Polczysnki was 2-for-5 with a double and a run scored.

Burrows got the win going seven innings allowing six runs, two earned,o n seven hits and three walks while striking out seven.

Keyauna Schimp was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Redbank Valley, while Quinn White went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI and Alara Altobelli was 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

Also for the Lady Bulldogs, Izzy Bond went 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

Mackenzie Foringer took the loss going seven innings allowing 11 earned runs on 12 hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out three.

CENTRAL CLARION 21, UNION/A-C VALLEY 7, 5 INNINGS

            

DUBOIS, Pa. – In the first game at Heindl Field in DuBois, Central Clarion saw Samantha Simpson go 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, a triple, three runs scored, and seven RBIs in a 21-7, five-inning win over Union/A-C Valley.

Alyssa Wiant added three RBIs and four runs scored for the Wildcats going 3-for-5 with two doubles and four runs scored, while Jenna Dunn scored five times going 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and two RBIs.

Abby Knapp-Greeley also scored four times for Central Clarion and was 2-for-3 with two walks and a double, and Alexa Kitchen went 1-for-4 with a run scored, and two RBIs. Brinley Kiskadden added a 1-for-2 day with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Dunn got the win going five innings allowing seven runs, two earned, on four hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Maddy Dehart drove in a pair of runs for the Falcon Knights going 1-for-3 while Bella Ielase scored twice.

Emerson Stevens took the loss going 1 ⅔ innings giving up 11 runs, four earned, on four hits, three walks, and a hit batter. She struck out one.

PUNXSUTAWNEY 14, BROOKVILLE 4, 5 INNINGS

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Brinley Hallman hit a pair of home runs and alos had a strong outing in the circle to help Punxsutawney to a 14-4, five-inning victory over visiting Brookville.

Hallman was 4-for-4 with three RBIs. She also went three innings allowing one hit and striking out seven giving up one unearned run.

Oliva Toven threw a pair of innings for the Lady Chucks giving up three runs.

Brynn Hergert was also 4-for-4 with a pair of RBIs for Punxsutawney, and Toven had two hits and two RBIs with one of her hits being a double.

Alyssa Tollini had a double and two RBIs for Brookville but was the losing pitching giving up 14 runs, seven earned, on 15 hits and a walk while striking out two.

OSWAYO VALLEY 20, COUDERSPORT 5, 3 INNINGS

SHINGLEHOUSE, Pa. – Scoring 20 runs thanks to 21 free passes, Oswayo Valley evoked the 15-run Mercy Rule on visiting Coudersport with a 20-5, three-inning victory.

The Green Wave took advantage of 15 walks and six hit batters to score their 20 runs with Catelyn Dailey and Layken Enty each walking three times.

Dailey, the leadoff hitter who was also hit by a pitch, scored three runs and drove in two, while Enty was 1-for-1with an RBI and two runs scored.

Shayden Messler went 2-for-2 with two walks, three runs scored, and three RBIs, and Jadyn Fleischman was 2-for-2 with a walk, two RBIs, and three runs scored.

Also for Oswayo Valley, MaKenna Manning went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Eva West got the win going three innings allowing five earned runs on three hits, five walks, and two hit batters while striking out six.

Laura Dun nwas 2-for-2 with two runs scored for Coudersport.

Hannah Fleniken took the loss going 2 ⅔ innings allowing 16 runs, eight earned, on three hits, 12 walks, and five hit batters. She struck out three.

ST. MARYS 15, DUBOIS 6

DUBOIS, Pa. – Scoring double-digit runs for the second time in as many outings, visiting St. Marys beat DuBois, 15-6, at Highlands Field in DuBois.

And eight-run third was the big inning for the Lady Dutch, who got a big day from Molly Hanslovan, who went 3-for-6 with a double, a home run, two runs scored, and five RBIs.

Gianna Surra and Avery Eckles each added a pair of RBIs for St. Marys with surra going 3-for-5 with a double and a walk and Eckles going 2-for-6.

Kelsie Fledderman (1-for-2, 2 walks) and GXX Muccio (4 walks, 1 RBI) each added three runs scored in the win.

Eckles got the win in the circle pitching seven innings allowing six runs, four earned, on 11 hits and two walks while striking out five.

Ava Barnonick was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for DuBois, while Audrey Hale and Morgan Pasternak each hit home runs.

Hale was 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, and Pasternak was 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Baronick took the loss going six innings allowing 15 runs, 12 earned, on 12 hits, 13 walks, and a hit batter.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 14, JOHNSONBURG 0, 5 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Emily Mourer tossed a five-inning, two-hit shutout, as Elk County Catholic topped visiting Johnsonburg, 14-0, in five innings at Benzinger Park in St. Marys.

Mourer hit a batter and struck out 12.

She also helped herself on offense with a home run while going 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Mya Pistner added a triple and a double for the Lady Crusadews and was 2-for-2 with a run scored and four RIs, and Lucy Klawuhn went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored, and an RBI.

Sydney Alexander also had a pair of hits and a run scored for ECC, and BXX Throwart went 1-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Izzi Lawrie had a double for Johnsonburg.

Dana Beimel took the loss going four innings allowing 14 runs, four earned, on nine hits, two walks, and a hit batter. She struck out five.

OTTO-ELDRED 20, PORT ALLEGANY 3, 5 INNINGS

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Kyla Andreano and Carrie Drummond each hit home runs to help Otto-Eldred to a 20-3, five-inning road win over Port Allegany.

Andreano was 3-for-4 with a walk, two RBIs, and four runs scored, while Drummond went 3-for-5 with three runs scored, and three RBIs.

Lexi Prince also added a triple for the Lady Terrors while going 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBIs.

Rayel Hakes got the win going five innings allowing three earned runs on three hits, seven walks, and a hit batter while striking out 11.

Brynn Evens was 1-for-1 with two walks and an RBI for Port Allegany.

Alyssa Tanner took the loss going five innings allowing 20 runs, 12 earned, on 14 hits and 10 walks while striking out five.

SMETHPORT 10, GALETON 5

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Ganelle Dinch and Breille Lehman each had a pair of hits to help Smethport to a 10-5 win over Galeton in a game that was switched from Galeton to Smethport.

Tylar Colley got the win for the Lady Hubbers allowing five runs. She struck out six and walked four.

COWANESQUE VALLEY 10, NORTHERN POTTER 0, 5 INNINGS

WESTFIELD, PA. – Cowanesque Valley took advantage of eight Northern Potter errors to beat the Lady Panthers, 10-0, in five innings.

Ruby Sherman and Ella Churchill eahc had a pair of RBIs for the Indians with Sherman getting the win pitching four innings of two-hit ball. She struck out 10.

Emma Haynes had both hits for Northern Potter going 2-for-2.

Jaylyn Willammee took the loss giving up 10 unearned runs on three hits, two walks, and a hit batter. She struck out three.

LOUDONVILLE (OHIO) 21, MONITEAU 1, 5 INNINGS

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Giving up eight runs in the first and seven in the fifth, Moniteau dropped a 21-1, five-inning decision to Loudonville (Ohio) in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Emily Staab was 1-for-2 with a triple and an RBI for Moniteau.

Mariska Shunk took the loss going four innings alloiwing 14 runs, just six earned, on eight hits and five walks while striking out one.
