Johnston, Camper Lead Union Past North Clarion Boys; Port Wins Low-Scoring Affair; Cranberry Gets Victory

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Payton Johnston scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help Union to a 66-51 regular-season-ending win over visiting North Clarion in KSAC Small School Division play.

Dawson Camper added 15 points, 11 rebounds, and two steals for the Golden Knights, who advance to both the KSAC and District 9 Class 1A playoffs, while Trey Fleming, Zander Laughlin, and Skyler Roxbury each scored 10 points.

Fleming also had six assists, five steals, and four rebounds, and Laughlin added seven rebounds.

Aiden Hartle closed out his North Clarion career with a game-high 24 points for the Wolves. Hartle finished his career with 1,160 points after scoring 544 this season, averaging 24.7 ppg. He is the sixth all-time leading scorer in North Clarion history.

                                      

Andy Castner chipped in 12 points for the Wolves in the loss.

PORT ALLEGANY 32, COUDERSPORT 21

COUDERSPORT, Pa. – Up one at the half in a low-scoring game, visiting Port Allegany outscored Coudersport 18-8 in the second half to close out the regular season with a 32-21 win.

Jett Rudding scored five third-quarter points to help the Gators push out to a 23-16 lead going to the fourth quarter, and Jarrod Funk scored all four of his points in the final eight minutes to help make the lead stick.

Braylon Button led Port Allegany with 10 points with Rudding and Drew Eevens each scoring six points.

                          

Dylan Howard scored seven points for Coudersport, who played without leading scorer Riley Streich, with Andy Chen adding six points.

CRANBERRY 63, KANE 52

SENECA, Pa. – Ethan Merryman scored 16 of his 19 points in the second half to help Cranberry pull away from visiting Kane, 63-52.

The Berries led 22-19 at halftime before Merryman went off for nine third-quarter points helping Cranberry outscore the Wolves 23-17 in the third quarter.

Noel Bunyak added 15 points for Cranberry with Ashton Weaver chipping in 12.

Ricky Zampogna led a balanced Kane attack with 11 points Sam Lundeen scored 10 points, Dane Anderson and Ethan Paul nine points each, and Landon Darrr eight points.

ST. MARYS 74, CAMERON COUNTY 51

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Led by 19 points from Tanner Fox, St. Marys put five players in double digits in a 74-51 road win over Cameron County.

Trailing 14-11 at the end of the first quarter, the Dutch road the hot shooting of Anthony Nedzinski to a 21-point second quarter that gave them a 32-22 halftime lead.

Nedzinski scored nine of his 11 points in the second quarter.

                                   

Ben Paul added six of his 13 points in that second quarter, while Charlie Coudriert and Quin Gavazzi each scored 12 points in the victory.

Ryan Shaffer had 20 points for Cameron County with Camdyn Allison adding 15 points and Josh Smith seven points.

JOHNSONBURG 55, BROCKWAY 39

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Jumping out to a 25-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, Johnsonbuirg rolled to a 55-39 home win over Brockway snapping a two-game losing streak.

Isaiah Jackson led the early charge with nine points with Luke Ziommerman scoring six points.

Jackson led the Rams with 17 points with Zimmerman adding eight. Aaron Myers also had eight tallies for Johnsonburg, while Jake Lobaugh scored 12 points in the win.

Alex Carlson paced Brockway with 12 points with Brady Demonte adding 10 and Bradley Hughes nine.

BELLEFONTE 48, DUBOIS 38

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – A bad third quarter doomed DuBois in a 48-38 loss at Bellefonte.

The Beavers led 24-12 at halftime but were outscored 18-3 in the third quarter.

Cole Crissman led the Raiders in the third quarter with 10 of his game-high 22 points, while Derek Cox scored six of his nine in the frame.

Jacob McConnell also added eight points for Bellefonte.

Cam Thompson and Tyson Kennis each scored 14 points for DuBois.
