Grove City Girls Rally for Victory; Johnsonburg, Mercer Earn Close Wins

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Trailing 22-12 at halftime, Grove City went on an 18-4 run in the third quarter on its way to a 41-38 win over Greenville.

Piper Como scored seven of her 16 points in the third quarter and 15 of 16 overall in the second half to lead Grove City.

Izzie Gamble scored four of her 10 points in the third quarter for GC, while Maddie Osborn also had 10 points.

Lilly Chapman had nine of her 11 points in the first half for Greenville, while Preslie Kirila and Peyton Davis added 10 points each.

                                      

JOHNSONBURG 38, PORT ALLEGANY 34

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Maria Casilio and Cadence Brechtel each scored 13 points to lead Johnsonburg to a 38-34 win at Port Allegany.

Natalie Dunworth added seven points for the Ramettes.

Kayleigha Dowell had 15 points, six rebounds, four steals, and three assists for Port Allegany.

Ella Moses added nine points, five rebounds, and four steals for the Lady Gators, and Brynn Evens added seven points, five rebounds, and four blocked shots.

                          

MERCER 39, WEST MIDDLESEX 36

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. – Mercer went on a 13-2 run in the second quarter and edged West Middlesex, 39-36.

The second quarter gave Mercer a 23-19 halftime lead.

Pressley Washil had three second-quarter 3’s and finished with a game-high 15 points.

Ashlynn Heckathorn had 13 points in the win for Merer.

Caitlin Stephens had 11 points and Emma Wild 10 for West Middlesex.

RIDGWAY 59, DUBOIS 38

DUBOIS, Pa. – Jenna Kasmierski had 27 points, seven rebounds, and three steals to lead Ridgway to a 59-38 win at DuBois.

Kristen Ellenberger added 14 points and seven steals for the Lady Elkers, and Gabby Amacher chipped in seven points.

Lynx Lander had 23 points for DuBois with Avery Fontaine adding 13 points.

                                   

LAKEVIEW 63, FARRELL 21

FARRELL, Pa. – Kyndra Seddon had 16 points and 11 rebounds as Lakeview powered past Farrell, 63-21.

Emma Marsteller also had 16 points for Lakeview to go along with five rebounds and four steals, while Amber Woods and Maddie Doyle had nine points each.

Damerra Thomas had 14 points for Farrell.

JAMESTOWN 51, COMMODORE PERRY 35

HADLEY, Pa. Alayna Cadman poured in 21 points to lift Jamestown to a 51-35 win over Commodore Perry.

Cadman also had five steals and four assists, Ivy Riley was also in double figures with 14 points.

Skyleigh McCloskey had 11 points for Commodore Perry.

Bri Shetter had eight rebounds for Jamestown.

WILMINGTON 66, SHARPSVILLE 27

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Mya Jeckavitch scored 18 points for Wilmington in a 66-27 win over Sharpsville.

Lia Krarup, a first-team All-District 10 selection last season and member of the preseason All-D10 team, made her season debut after a preseason injury and had 16 points for the Greyhounds.

Lily Palko led Sharpsville with nine points.

SENECA 47, EISENHOWER 39

WATTSBURG, Pa. – Haylee Farrell scored 23 points to lift Seneca to a 47-39 win over Eisenhower.

                                  

Seneca went on a 10-2 run in the second quarter to take a 21-15 halftime advantage.

Mallory Hammill was also in double figures scoring for Seneca with 12 points.

Laney Font paced Eisenhower with 11 points, while Sam Childs and Clara Steinberg had 10 points each.

COCHRANTON 53, UNION CITY 37

UNION CITY, Pa. – Shelby McBryar scored 17 of her 20 points in the second half as Cochranton beat Union City, 53-37.

Leading 23-17 at halftime, Cochranton went on a 23-8 run to take control.

Eve Pfeiffer was also in double figures for Cochranton with 15 points.

Cathryn Reynolds led Union City with nine points.

FRANKLIN 48, CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 22

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Katie Boal and Jamie Blum scored 10 points each in Franklin’s 48-22 win over Cambridge Springs.

Jenn Blum and Kirsten Hicks had nine points each for Franklin in the win.

Sydney Zilhaver had seven points for Cambridge Springs.

MAPLEWOOD 49, YOUNGSVILLE 11

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Nine different Maplewood players scored in a 49-11 win over Youngsville.

Savannah O’Hara led Maplewood with 12 points, while Maggie Means had 10 points and Shelia Despenes seven.

Lynzee Higley had six points for Youngsville.

CONNEAUT 39, SLIPPERY ROCK 27

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Trailing 13-11 at halftime, Conneaut outscored Slippery Rock 28-14 in the second half to earn a 39-27 win.

Laine Harrington led the charge for CASH, scoring 16 of her 22 points in the second half while also adding six rebounds and three steals.

BreAnne Dendis had 10 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Morgan Poff had five rebounds.

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. – Lynzee Amory connected for 26 points as Saegertown beat Rocky Grove, 62-14.

Layilah Drakes had 18 points and Lindsey Greco 16 for Saegertown in the win.

Rae Montgomery had 10 points for Rocky Grove.

MERCYHURST PREP 47, GIRARD 17

ERIE, Pa. – Olivia Kulyk scored nine of her 11 points in the first half in Mercyhurst Prep’s 47-17 win over Girard.

Seanna Thrower added 10 points for Mercyhurst Prep in the win.

Amber Bock had six points for Girard.

KENNEDY CATHOLIC 76, REYNOLDS 8

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Layke Fields led four Kennedy Catholic players with 20 points in a 76-8 win over Reynolds.

Bella Magestro had four 3’s on her way to 18 points for the Golden Eagles, while Tori Harvey had 13 points and Monique Vincent 11.

NORTHWESTERN 41, NORTH EAST 29

NORTH EAST, Pa. – Makyala Presser-Palmer scored 25 points as Northwestern beat North East, 41-29.

TITUSVILLE 42, IROQUOIS 28

ERIE, Pa. – Ava Matteson scored 13 points to help Titusville to a 42-28 win over Iroquois.

Adi Burleigh added nine points for Titusville in the win.

Karina Reichard had eight points for Iroquois.

AUSTIN 46, GALETON 7

AUSTIN, Pa. – Ella Brewer scored all 11 of her points in the first quarter, as Austin rolled past visiting Galeton, 46-7, in NTL action.

Brewer added four rebounds and three assists.

Jade Williams hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and finished nine points while adding six rebounds for the Lady Panthers, and Lilly Clinger chipped in eight points.

Isabella Rees contributed six points, six assists, four steals, and four rebounds in the win.

Addison Reigle scored five points for Galeton.
