Fricko, Redbank Valley Stun Karns City at the Buzzer; A-C Valley, Conneaut, GM Victorious

KARNS CITY, Pa. – In an unbelievable ending, Kieran Fricko hit a leaning-into-it 3-pointer at the horn in overtime to give Redbank Valley a stunning, 67-66, win at Karns City in KSAC action.

The Bulldogs trailed by three, 66-63, in the closing seconds of overtime, and Karns City had the basketball.

But the Gremlins called a timeout they didn’t have with three seconds left and were assessed a technical foul.

Redbank Valley, which was just 14 of 22 from the line on the night, hit one of two charity shots to close the gap to 66-64.

                                      

They then inbounded the at halfcourt, and it ended up eventually in the hands of Fricko, who put it on the floor dribbling around Taite Beighley before leaning into the triple from the left elbow that found nothing but net and set off a wild celebration by the Bulldogs.

Fricko’s triple capped off a comeback for the Bulldogs who trailed by eight, 47-39, going to the fourth quarter.

But Redbank Valley forced overtime thanks to outscoring Karns City 18-10 in the final eight minutes of regulation.

                          

Fricko was a key reason why scoring 10 fourth-quarter points while hitting a pair of 3-pointers in the frame.

In fact, Fricko scored 14 of his game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter and overtime.

Mason Clouse added 16 points in the win with his brother, Owen, adding 14.

Jacob Callihan and Beighley both scored 15 points for Karns City with Hobie Bartoe adding 12 points and Luke Cramer and Shane Peters contributing 11 points apiece.

Beighley completed a double-double with 10 assists while adding two steals and two rebounds.

Callihan, Bartoe, and Peters each chipped in six rebounds with Bartoe also dishing out four helpers.

A-C VALLEY 51, NORTH CLARION 47

FRILLS CORNERS, Pa. – A-C Valley overcame a slow start to pick up a 51-47 KSAC road win over North Clarion.

The Falcons trailed 16-10 at the end of the first quarter and 29-25 at halftime before cutting the deficit to one, 36-35, going to the fourth quarter.

They then outscored the Wolves 16-9 in the final eight minutes behind eight points from Jay Clover and five from Zahsheen Levins.

                                   

Clover led A-C Valley with 16 points with Levins adding 12.

Colbin Watterson had 13 points for North Clarion with Logan Bish adding 11.

CONNEAUT 65, JAMESTOWN 43

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Alex Brady led three Conneaut players in double figures with 22 points in a 65-43 win over Jamestown.

Shakiir Jordan had 19 points for CASH in the win, while Aiden Tyson added 11.

Cole Ternant had 16 points and Gage Plavansky 13 for Jamestown.

GENERAL MCLANE 69, WILMINGTON 9

EDINBORO, Pa. – Cohen Beachley and Jacob Zietz had 12 points each as General McLane beat Wilmington 69-9.

Logan Anderson had 11 points for GM, which had nine different players score in the win.

Landon Kline had four points for Wilmington.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 55, KEYSTONE 36

KNOX, Pa. – Jase Ferguson netted a game-high 22 points to help visiting Clarion-Limestone to a 55-36 KSAC victory over Keystone.

Jack Craig added 14 points in the win.

Drew Keth scored 13 points for Keystone with Eli Nellis adding eight points and 10 rebounds.

UNION 66, FOREST AREA 30

                                  

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Gage Jordan scored a career-high 26 points while hauling down 12 rebounds, as Union rolled to a 66-30 KSAC win over visiting Forest Area.

Trey Fleming and Owen Bish each added 11 points and five steals for the Golden Knights

Keyon Custer hit four 3-pointers and scored 12 points for Forest Area.

JUNIATA VALLEY 95, CURWENSVILLE 81

ALEXANDRIA, Pa. – Despite scoring 39 points in the third quarter, visiting Curwensville fell in ICC North action to Juniata Valley, 95-81.

The problem for the Golden Tide was that they dug themselves a 24-point, 58-34, halftime deficit.

They caught fire in the third quarter, though, to cut the disadvantage to 12, 76-64.

But the deficit proved too much to overcome.

Davis Fleming scored 24 points for Curwensville with Parker Wood adding 23 and Grant Swanson adding 13.

BISHOP GUILFOYLE 68, CLEARFIELD 36

HYDE, Pa. – A 21-point night from Danny Haigh helped visiting Bishop Guilfoyle knock off Clearfield, 68-36.

Braison Patrick scored 19 points for Clearfield.
