Bolla Hits Walk-Off HR for Fairview; Cattron Hits Go-Ahead Blast in 7th for Sharon; Clearfield, Oil City Softball Get Close Wins

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – Colin Bolla hit a walk-off three-run home run to cap a four-run seventh inning, as Fairview rallied past General McLane, 13-10.

Vinny Campoli tied the game earlier in the inning with a double, and, following an intentional walk to Aari Fox, Bolla unloaded on a 2-0 pitch to win the game.

Fox hit two home runs in the game going 3-for-3 with two walks, two RBIs, and three runs scored, while Campoli also homered while going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBIs.

Adam Skelly added a 2-for-4 day with a run scored and a run scored for the Tigers.

On a day where the ball was flying out of the park, Jackson Kiser and Dylan Sheeder both hit home runs for General McLane with Kiser’s being a grand slam.

   

                  

Kiser was 1-for-4 with a run scored and four RBIs with Sheeder, who also added a double, going 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Tyler Banks also scored three times and was 1-for-2 with two walks, and Tyler Chorney added a double while going 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Fox, the third Fairview pitcher, got the win going three hitless, scoreless innings. He walked one and struck out three.

Campoli started and worked three innings allowing six earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five, and Ed Dolansky gave up four unearned runs on two hits and two walks while striking out two in an inning of work.

Colin Rapela took the loss allowing two earned runs on a hit and an intentional walk, the only two batters he faced.

Henry Salvo started and pitched two innings allowing five earned runs on three hits and six walks while striking out two. Dylan Sheeder went 1 ⅓ innings allowing an earned run on two hits and three walks while striking out two, and Kiser pitched 2 ⅔ innings allowing five runs, four earned, on four hits and two walks.

                          

SHARON 8, WEST MIDDLESEX 7

WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa.. – Mark Cattron hit a two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give Sharon an 8-7 win over West Middlesex.

Down 7-6 entering the inning, Hayden Scarmack opened the inning with a double before Bowen Briggs relieved Logan Kent. Cattron took Briggs’ fourth pitch of the game on a 2-1 count over the left-field fence to give the Tigers the lead.

Ethan Engelmore then worked around a one-out single and a two-out walk in the seventh to get the win.

               

Engelmore threw 4 ⅔ innings in relief of Derek Douglas allowing one earned run on three hits and three walks while striking out six. Douglas went 2 ⅓ innings allowing six runs, five earned, on seven hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out one.

Cattron’s home run was the third of the game for Sharon. Mikey Rodriques and Santino Piccirilli also hit long balls for the Tigers.

Cattron was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and two RBIs, Rodriques was 1-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Piccirilli was 2-for-3 while adding a double, a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Angelo Fromm was also 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored for Sharon.

Blaze Knight and Julian Trott each drove in a pair of runs for West Middlesex with Knight going 1-for-3 and Trott going 2-for-5 with a double. Briggs was also 1-for-1 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored, while Luke Rupert was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Briggs took the loss going one innings allowing an earned run on a hit and a walk.

Gio Rococi started for West Middlesex and pitched three innings allowing two earned runs on a hit and a walk while striking out two. Kent gave up five earned runs on seven hits and three walks in three innings.

KEYSTONE 11, COCHRANTON 7

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Kord Stewart drove in five runs, as Keystone closed its season with an 11-7 win at Cochranton.

Stewart was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a run scored.

            

Brady Dunlap and Cole Henry also added doubles for the Panthers with Dunlap going 2-for-4 with a walk, two RBIs, and three runs scored and Henry going 3-for-3 with two walks, an RBI, and three runs scored.

Drew Keth also had a big day at the plate for Keystone going 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored with Aidan Tharan going 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

Isaiah Long and Walker Carroll had doubles for Cochranton with Long going 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored and Carroll going 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Jack Rynd was also 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Cardinals, and Bryce McDonough drove in two runs while going 1-for-3 with a walk.

A-C VALLEY/UNION 12, CRANBERRY 6

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – In a family battle of the managers, Dewey Irwin’s A-C Valley/Union Falcon Knights got three RBIs from Trey Fleming to beat Patrick Irwins’ Cranberry Berries, 12-6.

Dewey is Patrick’s uncle.

Fleming was 3-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored, while Lane Bauer went 2-for-2 with two walks, a run scored, and two RBIs, and Zach Cooper was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Landon Baker had a double for Cranberry while going 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Cole Findlay led the Berries going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Austin Shoup was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Bailey Crissman got the win going four innings allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits and a walk while striking out three. Sebastian Link picked up the save going three innings allowing three earned runs on four hits and a walk while striking out one.

Travis Carbaugh took the loss going 1 ⅔ innings allowing seven runs, six earned, on four hits and four walks while striking out one.

SLIPPERY ROCK 14, FORT LEBOUEF 2, 5 INNINGS

WATERFORD, Pa. – Brett Galcik hit a pair of home runs and drove in five runs to lead Slippery Rock to a 14-2, five-inning road win at Fort LeBoeuf.

Galcik was 3-for-3 in the game with two runs scored.

Lucas Allison added a 3-for-4 day with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs, while Brady Galcick was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Sal Mineo was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored, and Dylan Gordon was 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs scored.

Jack Schmidt was 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored for Fort LeBoeuf with Matthew Herr going 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

Ryan Double, the second of three Slippery Rock pitchers got the win going two innings allowing a hit and a walk while striking out two.

Mineo started and went two innings allowing a hit and two walks while striking out two. Kole Kent pitched an inning allowing two earned runs on three hits.

Kyle Myers took the loss going three innings allowing 13 runs, 10 earned, on 12 hits and two walks while striking out four.

IROQUOIS 19, SENECA 5, 5 INNINGS

ERIE, Pa. – Ben Burkhardt, Ben Moffettm, and Cole Bennett combined to drive in 15 runs in Iroquois’ 19-5, five-inning win over visiting Seneca.

Burkhardt was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, three runs scored, and six RBIs with Moffett going 2-for-2 with a double, two runs scored, and five RBIs and Bennett was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, two runs scored, and four RBIs.

Hunter Alderson added two hits in the game for the Braves going 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Michael Peterson was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Seneca with Kendall Yosten going 1-for-2 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI.

Joe Doverspike got the win going five innings allowing five earned runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four.

Jared Gladitz took the loss going three innings allowing 10 runs, nine earned, on 11 hits and two walks while striking out three.

WARREN 9, OIL CITY 4

OIL CITY, Pa. – Konnor Hoffman had a big day to help Warren close out the season with a 9-4 win at Oil City.

Hoffman was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two runs scored, and four RBIs.

Gio Elinsky also drove in a pair of runs for the Dragons going 2-for-4 with a triple, while Owen Blum was 3-for-4, and Ben Sowa was 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Jacob Teeter went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Oil City while Alex Stevens was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI and Casey Rybak was 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Archie Teconchuk got the win going 5 ⅔ innings allowing four runs, two earned, on four hits, four walks, and three strikeouts. Hoffman went 1 ⅓ innings scoreless allowing a hit and striking out one.

Stevens took the loss going three innings allowing four runs, two earned on five hits and a walk while striking out one.

SOFTBALL

CLEARFIELD 2, BRADFORD 1

HYDE, Pa. – Alaina Fedder allowed one unearned run as Clearfield topped visiting Bradford, 2-1.

Fedder went seven innings allowing seven hits and striking out five.

She outpitched Sophie Cornelius who gave up two earned runs on five hits in six innings of work.

Haley Billotte was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored for the Lady Bison as was Eve Siegel. Aevril Hayward had an RBI as did Ava Lynch, who was 1-for-2.

Alana Benson was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Bradford with Haile Jackson going 1-for-3 with a double and Addy Brown scoring the run for the Lady Owls.

OIL CITY 5, ROCKY GROVE 3

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. – Sophie Garmong and Shalyn Whittemore combined on a six-hitter, as Oil City went on the road and beat Rocky Grove, 5-3.

Garmong got the win going four innings allowing an earned run on three hits while striking out 11. Whittemore picked up the save going three innings allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits and a walk while striking out six.

Abby Foley drove in a pair of runs for the Oilers going 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored while Garmong was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Emily Rice had a home run and a triple for Rocky Grove going 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Zoe Cresswell was also 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Orioles.

Elizabeth Mawhinney took the loss going seven innings allowing five runs, four earned, on seven hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out nine.

MEADVILLE 13, COCHRANTON 7

MEADVILLE, PA. – Kendall Mealy, Lila Kighlinger, and Teagan Reichel all hit home runs in Meadville’s 13-7 home win over Cochranton.

Mealy, who added a triple, was 4-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored, Kightlinger was 1-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, and Reichel was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Katie Say added a 1-for-3 day with a double, a walk, an RBI, and three runs scored while Nevaeh Baker was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored, Lexie Carr was 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs, and Elliot Schleicher was 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Mara Swartz had a pair of doubles for Cochranton with Chelsey Freyermuth adding a two-bagger as well.

Swartz was 4-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI with Freyermuth going 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Also for the Cardinals, Claire McCartney was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Keirstynn Miller was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Say got the win going four innings allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out six. Kighlinger picked up the save going three innings allowing four earned runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out four.

Katelyn Ewing took the loss going six innings allowing 13 runs, 12 earned, on 12 hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out three.
