JOHNSONBURG 5, BROCKWAY 2

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Scoring three runs over its final two at-bats, visiting Johnsonburg knocked off Brockway, 5-2.

The Rams led 2-1 going to the sixth before the teams exchanged runs in the inning. Johnsonburg then added two more in the seventh to set the final score.

It was a 13-hit attack for Jburg with Domenic Allegretto (2-for-3, 1 3B, 1 BB, 1 Run), Camron Marciniak (2-for-4, 1 2B, 1 run), Kaden Dennis (2-for-4, 1 run, 1 RBI), Colin Porter (2-for-4, 1 RBI), and Caden Smiley (2-for-4, 1 run, 1 RBI) each recording a pair of hits.

   

                  

That was enough for Eric Panebianco and Marciniak on the mound.

Marciniak got the win in relief pitching four innings allowing an earned run on four hits, a walk, and two hit batters while striking out three.

Panebianco pitched three innings allowing an earned run on three hits and three walks while striking out one.

Daniel Shugarts paced Brockway going 2-for-4 while Ezra Swanson was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. Marcus Bennett also drove in a run.

CLARION 13, CRANBERRY 9, CLARION 15, CRANBERRY 5, 6 INNINGS

                          

PAINT TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Clarion swept a doubleheader from Cranberry winning the first game, 13-9, and the second one, 15-5, in six innings at the Clarion County Park.

As the visiting team in Game One, the Bobcats had 10 hits including doubles from Cam Lapinto, Dawson Smail, and Derek Smail.

Derek Smail drove in three runs while going 2-for-4 with two runs scored, Dawson Smail was 2-for-3 with a walk, two RBIs, and three runs scored, and Lapinto went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI.

Also for Clarion, Noah Harrison was 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs, and Ryan Alston went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.

               

Ken Lavrich hit a home run for Cranberry while going 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Nathan Rembold was also 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs for the Berries with Austin Shoup and Austin Fento each going 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Chase Wenner chipped in a pair of RBIs as well for Cranberry while going 1-for-4.

Alston picked up the win going four innings allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three. Dawson Smail pitched 1 ⅓ innings giving up six runs, three earned, on two hits and four walks while striking out three. Devon Lauer threw the final 1 ⅔ innings giving up an earned run on three hits while striking out four.

Preston Forrest, the first of five Cranberry hurlers, took the loss getting one out allowing an earned run on a walk and a hit while striking out one.

Fento threw three innings giving up five runs, all earned, on six hits and a hit batter while striking out four.

Ryan Hanna gave up three earned runs on three hits, a walk, and a hit batter in 1 ⅔ innings of work, Avery Keenan went an inning giving up an earned run on two hits and a walk, and Shoup threw an inning giving up three runs, one earned, on a hit and two walks while striking out one.

In the second game, Clarion led 6-1 after three only to see Cranberry cut the lead to one, 6-5, with two in the third and two more in the fourth.

But the Bobcats scored six more in the bottom of the fourth to all but put the game away.

Alston drove in four runs for Clarion going 1-for-4 with a run scored, while Lapinto was 3-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

            

Dawson Smail and Lauer each scored three times with Dawson Smail going 2-for-5 with an RBI, and Lauer going 2-for-3 with a walk.

Lavrich doubled while going 2-for-4 with two runs scored for Cranberry.

Gary Matus got the win pitching 3 ⅓ innings of relief giving up four runs, two earned, on two hits and three walks while striking out two.

Lauer started and gave up an earned run on a hit, a walk, and a hit batter while striking out one in an inning of work.

Tanner Miller threw 1 ⅔ innings scoreless giving up one hit while striking out two.

Lavrich took the loss allowing six runs, two earned, on three hits and five walks while striking out two.

ST. MARYS 10, BRADFORD 0, 5 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Christian Coudriet tossed a 3-hit shutout with two walks and 11 strikeouts in five innings, as St. Marys rolled past visiting Bradford, 10-0, in five at Berwind Park in St. Marys.

Coudriet helped himself at the plate going 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and an RBI.

Charlie Coudriet scored twice for the Dutch while going 1-for-1 with three walks and an RBI, and Vinny Lenze had a pair of RBIs going 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Cam Austin took the loss pitching 1 ⅓ innings allowing four runs, one earned, on two hits and five walks.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 13, CAMERON COUNTY 0, 5 INNINGS

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Big day at the plate from Tommy Slay and Joe Tettis helped Elk County Catholic to a 13-0, five-inning win over visiting Cameron County at Berwind Park in St. Marys.

Slay was 4-for-4 with four runs scored and two RBIs out of the leadoff spot for the Crusaders, while Tettis went 3-for-3 with three doubles, a run scored, and four RBIs.

Dom Zambanini was also 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs in the win with David Anderson going 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Lance O’Neil had two RBIs while going 1-for-4, and Luke Ginther scored twice while going 1-for-3 with a walk.

Ryan Shaffer and Ben Paul combined on a one-hit shutout with Shaffer picking up the win going three hitless innings. He walked three and hit a batter while striking out five. Paul pitched two innings giving up a hit while striking out two.

Maddox Baughman was 1-for-1 with two walks for Cameron County.

Jesop Farabaugh took the loss going 3 ⅓ innings allowing 12 runs, 11 earned, on 12 hits, four walks, and a hit batter while striking out five. Jake Narby pitched ⅔ of an inning allowing an unearned run on one hit.




REDBANK VALLEY 11, KEYSTONE 1, 6 INNINGS

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Getting a pair of RBIs each from Tyler Hetrick, Breckin Minich, Ty Carrier, and Cam Wagner, Redbank Valley 10-run ruled Keystone, 11-1, in six innings.

Hetrick was 1-for-3 with a walk, Breckin Minich was 3-for-4 with a run scored, Carrier was 3-for-4 with three runs scored, and Wagner was 1-for-4.

Tate Minich also doubled twice for the Bulldogs while going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI, Owen Clouse was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and an RBI, and Mason Clouse was 1-for-2 with a double and three runs scored.

Seth Apel was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Keystone with Aiden Sell also going 2-for-3.

Wagner threw a five-hit complete game allowing one unearned run. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out 10 while needing just 79 pitches.

Nick Cosper took the loss throwing five innings allowing six runs, five earned, on 10 hits, a walk, and three hit batters while striking out four. Noah Weckerly surrendered five runs, three earned, on four hits, two walks, and a hit batter in ⅔ of an inning of work.

PORT ALLEGANY 18, GALETON 8, 6 INNINGS

PORT ALLEGANY, Pa. – Using a seven-run bottom of the first, Port Allegany jumped out to a 10-0 lead at the end of two innings then scored six times in the sixth to put away Galeton, 18-8.

Drew Evens, (2-for-3, 1 3B, 1 run), Tyler Fillhart (1-for-1, 1 BB), AHJ Wiley (1-for-1), and Ian Dynda (1-for-1, 2 walks, 2 runs) each drove in a pair of runs for the Gators, while Noah Archer was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Payton Spencer was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Jacob Causer was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and two runs scored.

Devin Stahley paced Galton going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI

Spencer got the win going one scoreless, hitless inning striking out two.

Evens started and pitched two scoreless, hitless innings stirking out five,

Causer was tagged for eight runs, five earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out three in three innings of action.

Gavin Sykora took the loss pitching ⅔ of an inning allowing three earned runs on two hits and a walk while striking out one.

Levi Evans pitched an innings giving up five earned runs on three hits and two walks while striking out two. Ayden Whipple threw 3 ⅔ innings allowing nine earned runs on 10 hits, two hit batters, and four walks while striking out two, and Stahley threw ⅓ of an inning allowing an earned run on two hits and a walk while striking out one.

PHILIPSBURG-OSCEOLA 7, CLEARFIELD 6

PHILIPSBURG, Pa. – After scoring two runs in the top of the seventh, Clearfield left the tying run at second base in a 7-6 loss to Philipsburg-Osceola.

The Bison trailed 7-4 entering the seventh but used four singles, including two-out RBI base hits from Cole Bloom and Ryan Gearhart to get back in the game before Ty Troxell grounded out to end the contest.

Clearfield lost despite outhitting P-O 13-5 and not committing an error.

But Philipsburg-Osceola got a pair of RBIs each from Nick Coudriet and Jamey Mussung.

Colby Hahn got the win going five innings giving up four earned runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out five. Denny Pretash picked up the save throwing two innings allowing two earned runs on five hits while striking out four.

Ryan Gearhart took the loss pitching five innings allowing seven earned runs on five hits, six walks, and a hit batter while striking out one. Blake Pretash pitched a scoreless, hitless inning striking out one.

COWANESQUE VALLEY 10, OSWAYO VALLEY 0, 6 INNINGS

WESTFIELD, Pa. – McGwire Painter drove in a pair of runs, and sophomore Carter Ackley went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI to lift Cowanesque Valley to a 10-0, six-inning win over visiting Oswayo Valley.

The Green Wave was limited to a pair of hits, including a Cayden Black double.

Kade Sottolono got the win going four innings allowing a hit while striking out five.

Mikey Sipps pitched two innings allowing a hit while striking out two.

Brayden Wiley took the loss throwing 2 ⅔ innings giving up seven runs, three earned, on six hits and six walks while striking out one.

Nikolas Bonney pitched three innings allowing three earned runs on four hits, two walks, and a hit batter while striking out three.

FIRST PREP CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 13, SMETHPORT 4

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – First Prep Christian Academy (Ga.) scored nine times in the first two innings on its way to a 13-4 win over Smethport in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Kyle Duncan hit a home run for the Highlanders while going 2-for-3 with two walks, two RBIs, and three runs scored. River North was also 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, and Cam Eason went 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored, and two RBIs.

Alex Ognen was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored for Smethport with Travis Cooney going 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Eason got the win in relief of Caley Harmon going four innings allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits and two walks while striking out seven.

Harmon pitched three innings allowing two runs, one earned, on two hits and a walk while striking out eight.

Noah Lent took the loss going 3 ⅓ innings allowing 10 runs, nine earned, on eight hits and five walks while striking out one.

John Adamonski pitched 3 ⅔ innings giving up three earned runs on three hits, three walks, and a hit batter while striking out one.

HOLLIDAYSBURG 12, DUBOIS 2, 5 INNINGS

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. – Matt Smith and Carson Kenringer each drove in three runs in a 12-2., five-inning win for Hollidaysburg over visiting DuBois.

Smith hit a home run while going 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, while Kenringer was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Also for the Tigers, Drew Bankr walked twice, scored twice, and drove in two runs, and Jacob Hileman went 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored.

Alex Pasternak paced DuBois at the dish going 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Brycen Dinkfelt was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Nate Tyler was 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Landon Perry got the win going five innings giving up two runs, one earned, on five hits and two walks while striking out nine.

Austin Mitchell suffered the loss throwing 2 ⅓ innings allowing 11 runs, seven earned, on five hits and seven walks. Colby Clark threw two innings allowing an earned run on two hits and five walks. Gavin Kaschalk didn’t record an out hitting the only batter he faced to force home the winning run in the Mercy Rule victory for the home team.
