CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 8, IROQUOIS 1

LAWRENCE PARK, Pa. – Bryce Kania and Nathan Held combined on a no-hitter as Cambridge Springs beat Iroquois, 8-1

Kania went 4 ⅓ innings, allowing an unearned run, striking out five, and walking two. Held came on in relief and tossed 2 ⅔ innings, striking out five and walking one.

                  

Brock Cunningham was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs for Cambridge Springs, which scored four runs in the fourth inning. Josh Gorton went 3-for-5 with two RBIs for the Blue Devils.

Ben Burkhardt took the loss, allowing five runs (one earned) in four innings, striking out six, allowing four hits, and walking five.

MCDOWELL 7, HARBOR CREEK 3

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Josh Samluk and Sam Dietz drove in two runs each as McDowell earned a 7-3 win over Harbor Creek.

The Trojans scored five runs in the third inning en route to the win. In the frame, Samluk brought in two runs on his double, while Curtis King had an RBI single and Izaak Ogrodowczyk drew a bases-loaded walk.

                          

Nick Hamilton tossed three innings to get the win, allowing one unearned run on one hit, striking out six, and walking two.

Mitchell Fife drove in two runs on a single in the sixth inning for Harbor Creek.

Heath Betza took the loss, allowing seven runs (five earned) in 3 ⅔ innings, surrendering eight hits, striking out five, and walking three.

TITUSVILLE 2, FRANKLIN 1

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Titusville overcame a dominant performance from Franklin’s Luke Guth in a 2-1 win over the Knights.

               

The Rockets broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning on Kameron Mong’s two-out RBI single.

It was one of only three hits allowed by Guth, who recorded 18 outs via strikeout, including a four-strikeout inning after a Titusville batter reached on a dropped third strike. Both of the runs Guth allowed were unearned, and he also walked a pair. He threw 66 of his 100 pitches for strikes.

Kyle Alexander got Franklin to within one on an RBI single in the sixth. Kolin Baker came in and got the final two outs in the seventh for Titusville after Hunter Thomas tossed 6 ⅓ strong innings to get the win. Thomas allowed five hits and three walks, striking out seven.

HICKORY 6, MEADVILLE 2

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Hickory continued its winning ways as DJ Donatelli pitched six strong innings in a 6-2 win over Meadville.

Donatelli allowed two runs over the six frames on just five hits, striking out six and walking three.

Leading 3-2, Hickory extended its lead with three runs in the sixth. Donatelli delivered an RBI single in the hitting and Clay Wiesen belted a two-run home run.

Joey Fazzone and Noah Jordan also drove in runs for the Hornets.

Mason Walker drove in a pair of runs for Meadville on a double. Isaac Johnson took the loss, allowing three runs in two innings, allowing three hits, and five walks while striking out five.

            

COCHRANTON 13, EISENHOWER 6

RUSSELL, Pa. – Cochranton scored four runs in the fourth inning and six more in the fifth en route to a 13-6 win over Eisenhower.

Jack Rynd doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs, part of a three-hit effort, while Ramy Sample was 3-for-3 and Wyatt Barzak doubled and drove in a run.

Cochranton also took advantage of eight Eisenhower errors. Isaiah Long got the win, going 4 ⅔ innings on four hits and one walk, striking out six and allowing one run.

Camron Jakubczak, Garrett Jensen, and Caleb Barr all drove in runs for Eisenhower, while Cole Chapman was 3-for-4.

Chapman took the loss, allowing 12 runs (one earned) in six innings, striking out five without issuing a walk.

GROVE CITY 8, OIL CITY 3

GROVE CITY, Pa. – Landon Haggart went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs as Grove City earned an 8-3 win over Oil City.

The Eagles scored five runs in the third inning en route to the win. In the big inning, an error brought the first run across, which was followed by three consecutive RBI singles from John Hake, Luke Tubbs, and Dylan McElhinney. Micheal Earman also went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

McElhinney tossed five innings to get the win, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits with four strikeouts. Kamden Martin tossed two hitless innings in relief.

Jake Teeter took the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) in 2 ⅓ innings on five hits, striking out two and walking one.

Caden Highfield went 3-for-3, including a two-run home run in the first inning for Oil City.

LAKEVIEW 9, KENNEDY CATHOLIC 3

STONEBORO, Pa. – Lakeview scored six runs in the third inning on its way to a 9-3 win over Kennedy Catholic.

In the third, Mason Bevan belted a two-run home run, and Ted Shillito made it back-to-back dingers with a solo shot of his own. Both players finished with two RBIs, while Jackson Gadsby also drove in a pair.

Evan Reiser got the win, going five innings and allowing three runs on five hits and five walks, striking out five. Shillito tossed two perfect innings of relief with a pair of strikeouts.

Cord Pocza belted a solo homer for Kennedy Catholic, while Stargell Fuhr also drove in a run.

Remington Hart took the loss, allowing seven runs (six earned) in two-plus innings on seven hits, striking out three and walking a pair.

MERCER 8, JAMESTOWN 4

MERCER, Pa. – Jake Mattocks drove in three runs and Troy Bachman was 4-for-4 as Mercer beat Jamestown, 8-4.

The Mustangs scored three runs in the first inning and four in the fourth inning. Evan Julock and Tristan Barr also drove in a pair of runs each for Mercer.

Bachman got the win, allowing one run in two innings on one hit while striking out a pair.

Cam Keyser took the loss for Jamestown, allowing seven runs (three earned) in 3 ⅔ innings on five hits and six walks, striking out four.

CONNEAUT (Pa.) 5, SLIPPERY ROCK 4

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Conneaut plated a pair of runs in the sixth inning to earn a 5-4 win over Slippery Rock.

Jayden Mihoci tied the game on an RBI groundout and Jordan Kullen gave the Eagles the lead for good on an RBI single.

Dawson Thomas got the win, tossing six innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking three. Ryan Richardson pitched a scoreless seventh to get the save.

Gavin White went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Eagles.

Dylan Gordon took the loss, allowing two runs (one earned) in three innings, allowing three hits, and striking out two. Shane Thompson got the start, going four innings and allowing three runs (one earned), striking out seven.

Nick Kingerski tripled and drove in a pair for the Rockets.

SHARPSVILLE 9, WEST MIDDLESEX 3

SHARPSVILLE, Pa. – Braden Scarvel drove in three runs and Jack Leipheimer tossed six strong innings as Sharpsville beat West Middlesex, 9-3.

Leipheimer allowed three runs (two earned) in six innings, allowing six hits on one walk and striking out seven.

Offensively, the Blue Devils scored four runs in the first inning en route to the win. The Blue Devils also took advantage of nine West Middlesex errors.

Devin Gruver drove in a pair of runs for the Big Reds. Blaise Fox took the loss, allowing six runs (two earned) in three innings.
