Soft: Hallman Goes Deep Twice as Punxsy Homers Four Times in Win; Pistner First Career HR for ECC; Rhinehart Tosses 5-Inning Perfect Game; DCC Pitchers Toss No-No powered by N. Washington Rodeo

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. – Punxsutawney broke out the lumber hitting four home runs on its way to a 9-7 win over visiting Indiana.

Brinley Hallman led the way for the Lady Chucks with a pair of dingers while driving in four runs. She was 3-for-4 and also scored twice.

Laci Poole and Brooke Young also had dingers for Punxsutawney with Young going 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs and Poole going 1-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs. Her home run was an inside-the-park homer.

The Toven sisters also doubled as did Brynn Hergert.

                  

Olivia Toven was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Ciarra Toven was 1-for-4. Hergert was also 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Avary Powell contributed two hits and two runs scored going 2-for-3 with a walk in the win.

Hallman got the win in relief of Olivia Toven going 3 ⅔ scoreless innings allowing a hit while striking out seven.

Toven gave up seven runs, six earned, on 11 hits and four walks in 3 ⅓ innings of work.

Maggie Cunningham was 2-for-5 with a home run, a run scored, and three RBIs for Indiana.

                          

Kaylee Cass took the loss going 3 ⅔ innings allowing seven earned runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out one.

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 9, BROCKWAY 4

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Mya Pistner hit her first career home run while also adding a double to lead Elk County Catholic to a 9-4 win over visiting Brockway at Benzinger Park in St. Marys.

Pistner was 2-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI.

Winning pitcher Emily Mourer drove in four runs for the Lady Crusaders while also going deep. She was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Lucy Klawuhn added a home run in the win as well going 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored, while Syd Alexander was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and Mackenzie Billie drove in two runs.

Mourer went seven innings in getting the win allowing four earned runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out 11.

Isabella Patton homered and doubled for Brockway while going 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Meeca Smith was 2-for-4 with a run scored, Lily Heilbrun was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Sophia Schmader was 2-for-4 for the Lady Rovers.

Meghan Hertle took the loss going five innings allowing six runs, three earned, on eight hits and two walks while striking out one.

OTTO-ELDRED 10, PORT ALLEGANY 0, 5 INNINGS

DUKE CENTER, Pa. – Kate Rhinehart threw a five-inning perfect game as Otto-Eldred beat Port Allegany, 10-0, in five innings.

Rhinehart struck out 12 throwing 49 of her 63 pitches for strikes.

            

Rhinehart also went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and three RBIs.

Angelina Walker added a 2-for-2 day with two RBIs for the Lady Terrors while Kayla Andreano went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored.

Cali Windsor also went 3-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs for O-E.

Alyssa Tanner took the loss going four innings allowing 10 runs, eight earned, on 10 hits, 11 walks, and two hit batters. She struck out two.

DUBOIS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 13, KANE 0

DUBOIS, Pa. – Lydia Morgan, Melia Mitskavich, and Rylee Kulbatsky combined on a five-inning no-hitter, as DuBois Central Catholic used a 13-run first inning to beat Kane, 13-0, in five innings.

Kulbatsky started and went an inning striking out three, Mitskavich followed with an inning striking out two, and Morgan got the win going three innings striking out five and walking one.

DCC, meanwhile, sent 18 batters to the plate in the first inning, including Marina Hanes making her season debut after ACL surgery in February.

Jessy Frank had a pair of triples and four RBIs in the innings, while Mitskavich added a two-run triple in the frame.

Lexi Berta also had a two-run single in the opening inning for DCC.

Frank was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs, Lauren Davidson was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored, Kulbatrsky was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Berta was 1-for-2 with a run scored and three RBIs, and Kayley Risser was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Leah Tigani took the loss going four innings allowing 13 earned runs on 16 hits, a walk, and two hit batters. She struck out two.

Kylie Iak was the lone base runner drawing a walk for Kane.

OSWAYO VALLEY 12, SMETHPORT 6

SMETHPORT, Pa. – Oswayo Valley’s two pitchers, Shayden Mesler and Eav West, each drove in three runs to help Oswayo Valley to a 12-6 win at Smethport.

Mesler hit a home run and also combined with West to throw a five-hitter. She struck out four.

West, who had a pair of hits, struck out five and walked six.

Catelyn Daviley added three hits and three runs scored for the Green Wave, and Brooke George was 4-for-5 with three RBIs.

Elizabeth Hungiville hit a home run for Smethport.

Tylar Colley took the loss. She walked four and struck out five.

CURWENSVILLE 12, A-C VALLEY/UNION 3

SLIGO, Pa. – Addison Siple struck out 15 and also drove in a pair of runs to lead visiting Curwensville past A-C Valley/Union, 12-3, in Sligo.

Siple got the win going seven innings allowing three earned runs on six hits, four walks, and a hit batter.

At the plate, she was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and three runs scored.

Addison Warren added a pair of doubles for the Lady Tide while going 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

Ava Olosky also went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, and two RBIs, while Addison Butler was 2-for-5 with two runs scored.

Ashlyn Blystone was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for A-C Valley/Union with Ava Snyder going 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Magen Walzak took the loss going seven innings allowing 12 runs, 11 earned, on 14 hits, six walks, and a hit batter. She struck out one.

DUBOIS SWEEPS BRADFORD

DUBOIS, Pa. – DuBois swept a doubleheader from visiting Bradford winning by scores of 16-1 in four innings and 16-4 in six innings at Highland Field in DuBois.

In the first game, Ava Baronick went 3-for-4 with three doubles and four RBIs to lead the Lady Beaver to the 16-1 victory.

Baronick was also the winning pitcher going four innings allowing an unearned run on two hits while striking out 10.

Stasija Daniluk, Morgan Pasternak, and Lynx Lander added two RBIs apiece for DuBois.

Daniluk drove in runs when she reached on an error and drew a bases-loaded walk. She also scored twice.

Pasternak was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, and Lander was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and a run scored.

Adilynn BRrwon was 1-for-1 with a run scored for Bradford.

Kali Dixon took the loss going 3 ⅔ innings allowing 16 runs, nine earned, on 14 hits, four walks, and a hit batter. She struck out one.

In the nightcap, Barnonick drove in six more runs while hitting her D9-leading eighth home run of the year. She was 4-for-4 while adding a pair of doubles, getting hit by a pitch, and scoring twice.

Audrey Hale added four RBIs going 4-for-5 with a triple while her courtesy runner, Layden Mooney, scored three times.

Haley Reed also chipped in going 4-for-5 with a double, an RBI, and four runs scored, while Pasternak was 1-for-1 with a triple, four walks, an RBI, and three runs scored, and Bree Weible was 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored.

Weible got the win going six innings allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits and five walks while striking out six.

Kendyl Cruz was 1-for-3 with two runs scored for Bradford with Daisy Greene going 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.

Greene took the loss going six innings allowing 16 runs, 11 earned, on 19 hits and four walks. She struck out five.

NORTHERN POTTER SWEEPS CAMERON COUNTY

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Winning by scores 12-0 in five innings and 10-0 in five innings, Northern Potter swept a doubleheader at Cameron County.

In Game One, Taylor Knowles went 2-for-2 with two doubles, two runs scored, and two RBIs, while Zoe White went 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored, and two RBIs.

Kayla Hyde was also 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored for the Lady Panthers, while Hayley Chapman went 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs.

Jaylyn Williammee went four hitless innings to get the win. She struck out 11.

Elsie Bresslin went 1-for-2 for Cameron County.

Caitlyn Palumbo took the loss going five innings allowing 12 runs, eight earned, on 10 hits, five walks, and a hit batter. She struck out five.

In the second game, Miranda Jacoby went 1-for-2 with a run scored and two RBIs for Northern Potter while Emma Haynes went 1-for-1 with an RBI and two runs scored. Reagan Slawson walked once and scored twice.

Hyde started for the Lady Panthers and pitched two scoreless, hitless innings striking out one. Williammee then got the win allowing one hit and a walk while striking eight in three innings of work.

Elyse Umble was 1-for-2 for Cameron County.

Umble took the loss going 4 ⅔ innings allowing 10 runs, eight earned, on six hits, nine walks, and four hits batters. She struck out one.

ST. MARYS SWEEPS BROOKVILLE

ST. MARYS, Pa. – St. Marys took a pair of games from visiting Brookville, 10-0 in five innings, and 16-3.

Molly Hanslovan hit home runs in each game giving her seven, good for second in District 9, on the season.

In the first game, Hanslovan went 1-for-3 with a walk, three runs scored, and an RBI.

Giuliana Muccio and Jianna Gerg each added two RBIs with Muccio going 1-for-3 with two runs scored with Gerg going 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Addison Beimel also went 2-for-3 with a double and run scored, and Kelsie Fledderman went 2-for-3.

Avery Eckels got the win going five innings allowing one hit while striking out nine.

Alyssa Tollini had the hit for Brookville going 1-for-2.

Payton Eble took the loss going three innings allowing seven runs, four earned, on eight hits, two walks, and two hit batters.

In the second game, Hanslovan was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBIs.

Kaylen Eozzo added a 4-for-5 days with a triple, a double, an RBI, and three runs scored, while Beimel went 2-for-3, two triples, a walk, and three runs scored.

Gianna Surra was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs for the Lady Dutch with Sam Kahnell going 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored, and three RBIs, and Zoe Romanic going 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Taylor Gornati got the win going seven innings allowing three earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four.

Alyssa Tollini was 3-for-3 with two doubles and RBI for Brookville, while Julie Greeley went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Tollini took the loss going seven innings allowing 16 runs, 13 earned, on 20 hits and two walks. She struck out four.

KNOCH 11, KARNS CITY 9

KARNS CITY, Pa. – McKenna Brailey drove in four runs to lead Knoch past Karns City, 11-9, at Karns City.

Marlee Fraser got the win going four innings allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits and a walk while striking out five.

Kaila Purcell got the save going three allowing six earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three.

Aubrey Taylor drove in four runs for Karns City going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Lyrik Reed also doubled while going 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, while Jada Polczynski was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored. Nicole Huff also went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored

Addison Burrows took the loss going 4 ⅓ innings allowing six runs, five earned, on eight hits, a walk, and a hit batter while striking out two.

CATHEDRAL PREP 8, MONITEAU 3

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – Cathedral Prep broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the fourth inning on its way to an 8-3 win over Moniteau.

Emalie Thomas and Mackenzie Moore both hit solo home runs for the Ramblers. Madison Simmerman was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.

Morgan Madura got the win, allowing three runs (one earned) in five innings, striking out two and walking nine.

Addy Williams was 0-for-2 with an RBI for Mointeau, while Lily Staab was 1-for-4 and scored a run.

Lexi McGhee took the loss, allowing six runs (two earned) in four innings on five hits, striking out two and walking one.
