Base: Burchill Homers Twice as Saegertown Keeps Rolling; Sharon Edges Slippery Rock Powered by N. Washington Rodeo

GUYS MILLS, Pa. – Blake Burchill hit two home runs and had three RBIs as Saegertown continued to roll with a 12-2, 5-inning win over Maplewood.

Levi Gardner was also 3-for-4 with three RBIs for the Panthers, who scored five runs in the fifth inning, while Blake Leslie was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and DeMarcus Manning 2-for-3 with an RBI.

William Shaffer got the win, allowing just one hit and one run in four innings, striking out six and walking two.

Jacob Woge had an RBI for Maplewood. Chase Koelle took the loss, allowing seven runs (six earned) in three innings on eight hits, striking out three.

SHARON 4, SLIPPERY ROCK  3

                  

SHARON, Pa. – Sharon built a 4-1 lead after three innings and made that hold up in a 4-3 win over Slippery Rock.

Owen Schenker and Tino Piccirilli each drove in a run for Sharon, while Angelo Fromm was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Mark Cattron got the in, going 5 ⅔ innings and allowing three runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out seven and walking three.

Sal Mineo was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and two runs for Slippery Rock, while Isaac McCandless was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

McCandless took the loss, allowing four runs on five hits in three innings, striking out a pair.

                          

GENERAL MCLANE 3, ERIE 2

EDINBORO, Pa. – General McLane scored all three of its runs in the first inning in a 3-2 win over Erie.

Owen Eisert and Alex Clark each drove in a run for the Lancers. Jordan Cannon pitched a complete game 5-hitter, allowing two runs, striking out six and walking two.

Josue Rosario and Collin Nuber drove in one run each for Erie. Eli Nicklas took the loss, allowing three unearned runs on seven hits in 5 ⅔ innings, striking out three and walking one.

IROQUOIS 1, UNION CITY 0

               

ERIE, Pa. – Reilly Brown fired a 2-hitter as Iroquois edged Union City, 1-0.

Brown struck out 11 without issuing a walk. The lone run of the game came on Cole Bennett’s RBI double in the fifth inning, scoring Hunter Alderson, who doubled with two outs.

Joey Zahner took the loss, allowing one run on four hits in 2 ⅔ innings, striking out five.

GROVE CITY 5, CONNEAUT 4, 8 innings

GROVE CITY, Pa. – An error allowed the winning run to cross the plate as Grove City edged Conneaut, 5-4 in eight innings.

Nolan Renick hit a ground ball to second that resulted in an out at second base, but the error after that allowed Kam Martin to come home with the winning run.

The game was tied 4-4 after five innings, where it remained until the eighth.

Ethan Adams hit a 2-run homer for Grove City and finished with three RBIs, while Ethan Orr was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Layne Rider got the win with 3 ⅓ scoreless innings of relief, allowing three hits and striking out three.

Alex Wilpula was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for CASH, while Gavin White was 2-for-3 with two runs and Ashton Headley 1-for-3 with an RBI.

            

Wilpula took the loss, allowing one unearned run on three hits in 2 ⅔ innings, striking out two.

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 15, COCHRANTON 0, 5 innings

COCHRANTON, Pa. – Matthew Ross drove in five runs as Cambridge Springs beat Cochranton, 15-0 in five innings.

Ross had three hits, including a pair of doubles, as the Blue Devils scored eight runs in the second inning.

Josh Gorton was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Brett Kania 2-for-3 with an RBI and Owen Riley 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Kania got the win, allowing one hit in four innings, striking out seven and walking six.

YOUNGSVILLE 7, ROCKY GROVE 3

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – David Manning was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs as Youngsville picked up its 13th win of the season, 7-3 over Rocky Grove.

Cole Johnson was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for the Eagles, while Wyatt Dalrymple was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Dalrymple got the complete game win, scattering seven hits and allowing two earned runs, striking out four and walking one.

Eli Wilson was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for Rocky Grove, while Landon Jones had three hits and scored a run. Jones took the loss, allowing seven runs in 5 ⅓ innings on eight hits, striking out four.

CORRY 4, WARREN 2

WARREN, Pa. – Corry scored four runs in the second inning in a 4-2 win over Warren.

Corry’s four runs came after Warren had scored a pair in the first. Wesley Kurelowech was 1-for-3 with an RBI as Corry took advantage of a couple of Warren miscues in the second.

Hunter Jordan went four innings for Corry, allowing two unearned runs on three hits, striking out one and walking two. Karson Chamberlin tossed three hitless innings of relief.

Carter Cochran and Aidan Zdarko each drove in a run for Warren. Brady Berdine was sharp on the mound in the loss, allowing four unearned runs on five hits, striking out 11 and walking one.

MERCYHURST PREP 6, FAIRVIEW 3

ERIE, Pa. – Jack Majczyk was 1-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs as Mercyhurst Prep beat Fairview, 6-3, thanks to a 4-run fifth inning.

Rocco Almonte was 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Lakers. Hunter Krahe got the win, allowing one run on five hits in 5 ⅔ innings, striking out 10 and walking three.

Ed Dolansky was 3-for-4 with a solo home run for Fairview. Tyler Benford allowed a pair of runs in 1 ⅔ innings for Fairview, walking two and striking out three.

TITUSVILLE 10, FRANKLIN 0, 6 innings

TITUSVILLE, Pa. – Hunter Obert was 4-for-4 with three RBIs as Titusville beat Franklin, 10-0 in six innings.

Kameron Mong was 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs for the Rockets, while Jaxon Covell was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Nate Stearns 2-for-4 with two runs.

Covell fired four scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out three.

GIRARD 11, SENECA 1, 6 innings

WATTSBURG, Pa. – James Kibbe was 3-for-4 with three RBIs to help Girard to an 11-1, 6-inning win over Seneca.

Zak Balogh was 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Jackets, while Zach Kelley was 2-for-4 with two runs an dTyler Gilmore 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs.

Carson Stevens was strong in the win, allowing one unearned run on two hits in five innings, striking out 10.

GREENVILLE 21, JAMESTOWN 0, 3 innings

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Noah Philson and Jackson Leskovac drove in four runs each for Greenville in a 21-0, 3-inning win over Jamestown.

Philson finished with three hits, while Nick Solderich was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Jack Strausser 2-for-4 with four runs scored, Braden Stuberg 2-for-2 with three RBIs and three runs and Soren Hedderick 2-for-2 with three RBIs and three runs.

Jacob Csonka allowed two hits in three innings, striking out six.

HARBOR CREEK 13, NORTHWESTERN 2, 6 innings

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Jason Dolak and Tyler Burick both homered as Harbor Creek beat Northwestern, 13-2 in six innings.

Dolak finished with two hits and four RBIs, while Burick drove in three runs. Caden Folmar was also 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI.

Burick tossed 2 ⅓ scoreless innings without allowing a hit, walking two.

Garrett Eddy hit a 2-run homer for Northwestern.

LAKEVIEW 7, MERCER 3

MERCER, Pa. – Jonny Husband and Maddox Bell both homered as Lakeview beat Mercer, 7-e.

Bell and Husband drove in two runs each, while Cody Fagley was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Owen Dye got the win, allowing one unearned run in five innings on four hits while striking out four.

Cole Fisher and Ethan Christie were both 2-for-4 with an RBI for Mercer.
