Warren Girls Power Past Meadville for District 10 3A Girls’ Soccer Title

WATERFORD, Pa. – Meea Irwin scored five goals, including three in the first half, as Warren rolled to the District 9 Class 3A girls’ soccer title, 9-1 over Meadville on Wednesday..

The win was the third this season for the Dragons over the Bulldogs.

Irwin also had two assists for Warren.

Lucy Bigelow added two goals for the Dragons.

Lani Wenzel and Maggie Bennett scored one goal each, while Eliza Brook and Marielle Stanz each had an assist.

            

Kayleigh Morin scored late in the game for Meadville.

With the win, Warren advances to play the No. 3 team from the WPIAL (the winner of the Mars/Montour game on Thursday) in the first round of the PIAA championships on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

“Ending it this way puts a nice exclamation point on our season,” said Warren coach Mark Ordiway. “We have been playing extremely well late in the season. Hopefully we can continue our momentum into next week’s state playoff game.”
