PITTSBURGH – The WPIAL rejected Farrell’s request to join at Tuesday’s board meeting.
The WPIAL voted 17-0 to reject Farrell’s request, with three abstentions, per Chris Harlan of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review.
The WPIAL’s board’s decision is merely a recommendation, which they will make to the PIAA.
Farrell has the option to appeal the WPIAL’s recommendation to the PIAA, which has the ultimate say.
The process for Farrell to rejoin the WPIAL back in November, when the Farrell school board voted to leave District 10 for the WPIAL.
In December, the District 10 committee granted Farrell’s request for release.
