ST. MARYS, Pa. – St. Marys head football coach Chris Dworek was named to the Pennsylvania coaching staff for the 2023 Big 33 Game by the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association.

Dworek is one of seven assistant coaches for Schuykill Haven coach Mike Farr, who was named the head coach of the team.

Additional assistant coaches are Colin Gillen (Cedar Cliff), Shanon Manning (Central Mountain), Kevin Steele (Bedford), Kevin Conlin (Abington), Tim McGorry (Allentown Central Catholic), and Randy Spencer (Wyoming Area).

The 2023 Big 33 game currently pits Pennsylvania vs. Maryland and has been played every year except 2020 (COVID-19) since 1958 with Pennsylvania playing a variety of states and one game against the rest of the United States.

The game is currently played at the end of May. In 2022, Pennsylvania beat Maryland, 28-7, the third consecutive win for Team Pennsylvania and the sixth in the last seven years.
At least one alumnus of the game has played in each of the 56 Super Bowls with Cincinnati Bengals Tyler Boyd (Clairton) keeping the streak alive last season.
