Smith Leads NoPo Boys Past Smethport; Wood Big Again for Shorthanded Franklin; C-L Out Races Cranberry

SMETHPORT, Pa. – A 13-3 second-quarter advantage lifted Northern Potter to a 51-43 road NTL win over Smethport.

Down by one, 8-7, going to the second quarter, Nolen Smith scored eight second-quarter points to help the Panthers (6-9 overall, 5-6 NTL) take a 20-11 halftime lead.

Smith led Northern Potter with 19 points with Ethan Fuhrer adding eight.

Caron Dunn had 16 points for Smethport (2-14, 1-10) with Owen Rounsville adding 10 points.

                                      

FRANKLIN 58, BROOKVILLE 45

BROOKVILLE, Pa. – Jalen Wood scored 19 points to lead visiting Franklin to a 58-45 win over Brookville.

The Knights (11-4), playing again without star Damon Curry, also got 13 points from Dreyden Payne and nine from Damarco Payne.

Kellan Haines led Brookville (7-7) with a game-high 20 points with Caleb Korbau adding nine points.

CAMERON COUNTY 70, AUSTIN 25

                          

EMPORIUM, Pa. – Josh Smith led a trio of Cameron County players in double digits with 23 points in a 70-25 Red Raider home NTL win over Austin.

Ryan Shaffer added 15 points for Cameron County (12-2 overall, 8-1 NTL) while Landon Farren had 14 points. Jake Narby also chipped in nine tallies in the victory.

Dawson Hooftallen led Austin (3-12, 3-7) with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 89, CRANBERRY 64

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Tied at 46 at halftime, Clarion-Limestone outscored visiting Cranberry 43-18 in the second half to pick up an 89-64 KSAC home win.

Behind eight points from Jase Ferguson and seven from freshman Paul Craig, the Lions (9-7 overall, 4-3 KSAC) outscored Cranberry (9-6, 2-5) 24-9 in the third quarter to take a 70-55 lead.

C-L then continued to pour it on in the fourth quarter with Jack Craig scoring six points and Jack Callen and Paul Craig each five to open the game completely open.

Jase Ferguson had a monster all-around game with 14 points, 10 assists, and five steals, Callen chipped in 14 points, Paul Craig and Jesse Siwiecki each had 12, and Ty Rankin contributed six points, 10 rebounds, and three steals.

Connor Morrow led Cranberry with 18 points, Cole Findlay added 15 points, and Ethan Merryman had 13 points.

                                   

UNION 58, A-C VALLEY 51

RIMERSBURG, Pa. – Building an eight-point halftime lead, Union knocked off visiting A-C Valley, 58-51, in non-league action.

The Golden Knights (11-7), who became playoff-eligible with the win, led 33-15 at halftime.

Dawson Camper led Union with another double-double, this time scoring 15 points to go with 12 rebounds.

Trey Fleming added 13 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and four steals in the victory while Trent Fleming had 13 points.

Owen Bish and Hayden Smith each chipped in with eight tallies.

Zasheen Lewis and Jay Clove both scored 13 points for A-C Valley (8-6) with Joe Rapp adding 12 and Brody Dittman 10.

JOHNSONBURG 61, BROCKWAY 32

BROCKWAY, Pa. – Isaiah Jackson scored 22 points to help visiting Johnsonburg to a 61-32 non-league win at Brockway.

Luke Zimmerman added 11 points for the Rams (10-5).

Caleb Daugherty scored 10 points for Brockway (1-12).

DUBOIS 63, BELLEFONTE 26

DUBOIS, Pa. – DuBois had no trouble with visiting Bellefonte beating the Raiders, 63-26.

Maddox Bennett, Cam Thompson, and Tyson Kennis each scored 12 points for the Beavers (9-5) while Rudy Williams added nine tallies and Noah Farrell seven.

Jacob McConnell led Bellefonte (3-10) with 10 points.

                                  

GALETON 78, PORT ALLEGANY 67

GALETON, Pa. – Going 12 of 17 from the line in the fourth quarter, Galeton held off visiting Port Allegany, 78-67, in NTL action.

The Tigers (5-8 overall, 4-5 NTL) led 51-47 going to the final eight minutes before outscoring the Gators (7-7, 7-4) 27-20 in the fourth quarter behind 11 points from Matthew Zur.

Zur finished with 19 points one behind teammate Braiden Cimino. Zach Pagano and Corey Anderson each added 17 tallies in the win.

Jake Causer scored a game-high 21 points for Port Allegany, which played with one of its regulars in Nick Wilfong.

Braylon Button added 19 points for the Gators, and Jarrod Funk chipped in with 17 points.
