Moses, Port Allegany Hold Off Bradford; Erie Rallies Past Butler; C-L Edges Cranberry

BRADFORD, Pa. – Using a 7-3 first-quarter edge to propel it the rest of the way, visiting Port Allegany held off Bradford, 32-29.

Ella Moses had a big game for the Lady Gators (12-4) with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and six steals, while Brynn Evens added nine rebounds.

Bradford, which trailed 23-17 going to the fourth quarter, went 6 of 12 in the fourth quarter from the free-throw line or might have otherwise rallied for the win.

Haley Keane led the Lady Owls (3-11) with 11 points with Kalie Sixon adding nine points.

                                      

ERIE 49, BUTLER 44

ERIE, Pa. – Trailing 26-12 midway through the second quarter, Erie rallied for a 49-44 non-region win over Butler.

With the game tied at 44, Erie’s (12-4) Kzjia Green scored to put the Royals up 46-44 with a minute to play.

After an empty Butler trip, Green was fouled and made 1-of-2.

Amelia McMichale, who had 11 points for Butler, missed a potential game-tying 3 with 11 seconds left and Ari Reap had an uncontested layup at the other end for Erie as time expired.

                          

Deeja Williams scored a game-high 21 points for Erie, while Reap posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Sydney Patterson added nine points for Butler.

CLARION-LIMESTONE 46, CRANBERRY 40

STRATTANVILLE, Pa. – Tied at 21 at halftime, Clarion-Limestone was able to pull out a 46-40 win over visiting Cranberry in non-league action.

Freshman Hannah Beggs led the Lady Lions (4-10) with 16 points, including going 6 of 6 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

Raegan Love chipped in with nine points in the victory.

Avery Coe had a game-high 21 points for Cranberry (3-12) with Raegan Antrilli adding 17 points.

CONNEAUT 37, CORRY 32

LINESVILLE, Pa. – Lainie Harrington scored 17 points as Conneaut edged Corry, 37-32 in a Region 5 tilt.

Hannah Brady also had 10 points for CASH (10-4 overall, 3-0 Region 5), which led 22-17 at halftime.

                                   

Harrington also had four rebounds, five assists and three steals, while Brady had five rebounds and two assists and Morgan Poff five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

JOHNSONBURG 50, DUBOIS 45

JOHNSONBURG, Pa. – Down three going to the fourth quarter, Johnsonburg got eight points from Cadence Brechtel and seven from Natalie Dunworth to rally past visiting DuBois, 50-45.

The Ramettes (4-9) trailed 34-31 with eight minutes left after cutting into a 22-17 halftime deficit slightly in the third quarter.

Then Brechtel, who had a team-high 17 points, and Dunworth, who added 15 points, took over to rally Johnsonburg for the victory.

Lynx Lander led DuBois (2-10) with 21 points with Audrey Kennis adding 15 points.

FRANKLIN 42, OIL CITY 37

FRANKLIN, Pa. – Franklin built a 29-22 lead after three quarters and held off Oil City for a 42-37 Region 5 victory.

Jenn Blum led Franklin (9-6 overall, 1-2 Region 5) with 12 points, while Katie Boal had 11.

Peyton Liederbach had 16 points for Oil City (7-8, 0-3).

Halle Albers had 11 points and Haley Mumau eight for Corry (7-7, 2-1).

GROVE CITY 50, SLIPPERY ROCK 37

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Grove City built a 29-16 halftime lead on its way to a 50-37 Region 4 win over Slippery Rock.

Piper Como poured in 20 points for Grove City (12-4, 6-0), including 10 in the second quarter.

Izzie Gamble had 12 points for the Eagles, while Lola Kolbe added eight.

                                  

Madison Romanovich had 16 points for Slippery Rock (4-11, 1-5).

SHARON 60, SHARPSVILLE 55

SHARON, Pa. – Lacey Root scored 22 points as Sharon outlasted Sharpsville in a Region 4 battle, 60-55.

Sharpsville led 21-19 at halftime, but Sharon rallied to take a 41-39 lead after three quarters.

Tay Chester added 15 points for Sharon (9-4, 3-3), while Niyonna Amos and Taylor Holden had eight each.

Lily Palko had a game-high 26 points for Sharpsville, (6-8, 3-3), while Macie Steiner had 19.

FAIRVIEW 44, MCDOWELL 33

ERIE, Pa. – Fairview raced out to a 13-3 lead in the first quarter on its way to a 44-33 Region 6 victory over McDowell.

Bre Heidt scored 10 of her team-high 15 points in the first quarter to help stake the Tigers to the early lead.

Paige Garrity knocked down four 3’s and finished with 14 points for Fairview (13-4 overall, 5-2 Region 6), while Jilly Agnello added eight points.

Amaiya Nelson and Mikaela Bennett had eight points each for McDowell (2-12, 2-5).

NORTH EAST 42, GIRARD 29

GIRARD, Pa. – Leading by two at halftime, North East went on a 14-5 run in the third quarter en route to a 42-29 win over Girard.

Samantha Probst and Jalyssa Wicker had nine points each for North East (10-5 overall, 5-2 Region 3), while Maisy Post added eight.

Lily Polk had 12 points and Leah Pratt 10 for Girard (2-12, 2-5).

MONITEAU 52, PORTERSVILLE CHRISTIAN 39

WEST SUNBURY, Pa. – On a night when it honored its seven seniors, Moniteau used a balanced scoring output to beat visiting Portersville Christian, 52-39.

One of those seniors, Allie Pry led the way for the Lady Warriors (12-5) with 13 points while fellow senior Cheyenne Curl had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Another senior Catherine Kelly had 10 points and nine assists, and a fourth senior, Abbey Jewart, had nine points.

Sophia Fleeger added eight points.

WEST MIDDLESEX 55, JAMESTOWN 24

JAMESTOWN, Pa. – Jen Babcock connected for 24 points as West Middlesex bested Jamestown 55-24 in Region 1 action.

Babcock scored 16 of her 24 points in the first half for the Big Reds (12-3 overall, 5-2 Region 1).

Brooke Blaze added 11 points for Middlesex.

Stacie Weimer had eight points for Jamestown (4-8, 1-5).

WARREN 61, MEADVILLE 21

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Alyssa Farr led five Warren players in double figures with 12 points in a 61-21 Region 5 win over Meadville.

Sammie Ruhlman, Halle Kuzminski, Emma Roell and Peyton Wotorson all scored 10 points each for Warren (9-4 overall, 3-0 Region 5), which has now won four in a row.

The Dragons scored 43 points in the first half en route to the win.

Kiki Gongaware had eight points for Meadville (0-13, 0-3).

NORTHWESTERN 56, IROQUOIS 11

ALBION, Pa. – McKayla Presser-Palmer had 21 points to help Northwestern to a 56-11 Region 3 win over Iroquois.

Chloe Yazembiak had 10 points for Northwestern (12-3 overall, 6-1 Region 3) and Brooke Miller added eight.

Northwestern built a 31-8 halftime lead on its way to the win.

Brooke Ashley had five points for Iroquois (0-15, 0-7).

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 54, KANE 18

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Using a balanced offensive attack, Elk County Catholic wrapped up first place in the AML North with a 54-18 win over visiting Kane.

Emily Maurer led the Lady Crusaders (13-1 overall, 6-1 AML North) with 14 points with Lucy Klawuhn and Tori Newton each scoring 10 points and Sami Struab adding eight points.

Maya Smith had eight points for Kane (7-6, 0-3).

LAKEVIEW 44, COMMODORE PERRY 1

STONEBORO, Pa. – Emma Marsteller had 18 points and four steals to lead Lakeview to a 44-1 win over Commodore Perry.

Kyndra Seddon added eight points, two assists and two steals for the Sailors (7-8, 5-2).

CLEARFIELD 62, BALD EAGLE AREA 41

HYDE. Pa. – Clearfield ran its win streak to five in a row with a 62-41 win over visiting Bald Eagle Area in LHAC East action.

Mia Helsel nailed six 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 22 points for the Lady Bison (10-4 overall, 7-3 LHAC East) while freshman Sonny Diehl added 20 points.

Cayleigh Walker also chipped in nine points and Alayna Winters had seven for Clearfield.

Addisyn Burns led Bald Eagle (6-9, 3-6) with 18 points.

UNION CITY 71, ROCKY GROVE 14

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. – Cathryn Reynolds scored 23 points as Union City raced to a 71-14 Region 2 win over Rocky Grove.

Cheyenne Cummings had 12 points and Ava Greer had nine for the Bears (7-9 overall, 4-2 Region 2).

Union City had 10 different players score in the win.

Paige Creswell had six points for Rocky Grove (6-8, 0-6).

MAPLEWOOD 58, HICKORY 42

HERMITAGE, Pa. – Madison and Savannah O’Hara combined for 45 points to send Maplewood to a 58-43 non-region win over Hickory.

The Tigers (13-3) jumped out to an 18-6 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.

Madison O’Hara scored seven of her 25 points in the first quarter to help stake Maplewood to the early advantage. She knocked down six 3’s in the game.

Savannah O’Hara, meanwhile, scored 10 points in each half.

Mariah Swanson scored 15 of her 23 points in the second half for Hickory (4-12), while Kimora Roberts was also in double figures with 11 tallies.

MERCYHURST PREP 70, EISENHOWER 36

RUSSELL, Pa. – Olivia Kulyk led three Mercyhurst Prep players in double figures with 22 points in a 70-36 win over Eisenhower.

Kulyk scored 16 of her 22 points in the first half as the Lakers (12-2 overall, 7-0 Region 3) built a 41-19 halftime advantage.

Mari Nixon tallied 15 points for Mercyhurst Prep and Mia Mangini 14.

Clara Steinberg scored 28 of Eisenhower’s (7-6, 3-4) 36 points.

SAEGERTOWN 50, CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS 37

CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. – Lindsey Greco connected for 25 points as Saegertown picked up a 50-37 Region 2 win over Cambridge Springs.

Greco scored eight points in the first quarter as the Panthers (7-9 overall, 3-3 Region 2) jumped out to a 17-7 lead.

Lydzee Amory and Layilah Drakes had eight points each for Saegertown.

Sydney Zilhaver had 18 points for Cambridge Springs (6-10, 2-4), 15 of which came in the second half. Moira York added seven points for the Blue Devils.

WILMINGTON 51, GREENVILLE 21

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Lia Krarup scored 18 points to power Wilmington to a 51-21 Region 4 triumph against Greenville.

Krarup scored 14 of her points in the first half, which included four 3’s.

Sarah Dieter added seven points for Wilmington (12-4 overall, 5-1 Region 4), while Avery Harlan and Reese Bruckner tallied six each.

Peyton Davis had nine points Preslie Kirila eight for Greenville (7-9, 0-6).

KENNEDY CATHOLIC 64, MERCER 19

MERCER, Pa. – Tori Harvey led three Kennedy Catholic players in double figures with 19 points in a 64-19 Region 1 win over Mercer.

Bella Magestro had 16 points for the Golden Eagles (9-3 overall, 6-0 Region 1), while Layke Fields added 11 and Monique Vincent eight.

Pressley Washil had six points for Mercer (10-4, 5-2).

CATHEDRAL PREP 56, GENERAL MCLANE 26

ERIE, Pa. – Addie Biel led three Cathedral Prep players in double figures with 20 points in a 56-26 Region 6 win over General McLane.

The Ramblers (10-2 overall, 6-0 Region 6) built a 26-7 lead after the first quarter en route to the win.

Jayden McBride had 15 points and McKenna Valone 12 for Prep.

Libby Opp paced GM (7-9, 2-4) with 14 points.

JUNIATA VALLEY 56, CURWENSVILLE 13

CURWENSVILLE, Pa. – Kassidy Watson scored 15 points to lead visiting Juniata Valley to a 56-13 ICC North win at Curwensville.

Maddie Hopsicker added 13 points for the Hornets (6-9 overall, 5-2 ICC North).

Brooklynn Price led Curwensville (0-13, 0-6) with seven points.

FARRELL 70, REYNOLDS 37

TRANSFER, Pa. – Damerra Thomas scored 28 points to power Farrell to a 70-37 Region 1 win over Reynolds.

Thomas rifled in four 3’s for Farrell (5-8 overall, 3-4 Region 1), which led 29-17 at halftime.

Janiya Daniels also had a big game for the Steelers with 20 points.

Hannah Reckhart had 12 points and Raya Hernandez 10 for Reynolds (3-12, 2-5)

COCHRANTON 44, YOUNGSVILLE 26

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – A 15-3 run in the second quarter gave Cochranton a 24-11 halftime lead on its way to a 44-26 Region 2 win over Youngsville.

Eve Pfeiffer connected for 19 points for Cochranton, while Shelby McBryar and Alaina Shorts had six each.

Riley Robinault had 17 points for Youngsville.

HARBOR CREEK 66, FORT LEBOEUF 37

HARBORCREEK, Pa. – Brook Przybylski scored 28 points to lead Harbor Creek to a 66-37 Region 6 triumph over Fort LeBoeuf.

Harbor Creek led 23-8 after the first quarter on its way to the win.

Hannah Smith added nine points for the Huskies.

Jillian Soder had 15 points and Ashley Froess 11 for the Bison.
